Chili obviously, Curry of course, but what else is there in the spicy food world?

Time for /liquor/
What are you drinking?
What do you want to try?
I've been wanting to get into rye whiskeys recently, started with pic related.
Also, how do we get rid of all the over-regulation of high-proof spirits? I dream of a time when anyone can say "fuck you InBev" and distill their own liquor without either spending years in prison or spending millions of dollars opening a tiny distillery that will fail in a few years.
I got no money, but I drink all day

>I dream of a time when anyone can say "fuck you InBev" and distill their own liquor
It was called "The Gin Craze" and it was not a good time for anyone.
who /Black Velvet/ here

What is the most unethical or cruel food generally available? Balut? Ortolan? Live frogs/fish sashimi? Boring-ass veal?
What would go into the most transgressive meal, involving the most suffering possible?
>>7531829
Eating a cannibalism would pretty much be a lot of suffering
>especially raw
Walk into your average American grocery store, look at the meat section from Smithfield/Perdue/etc. Worse than any shark fin soup, sashimi, ortolan, etc.
Mass-scale factory farming is unethical on multiple levels. Cruel to the animals, destructive to the environment, which in turn causes economic damage to industries that require cleanliness (see: algae blooms destroying fisheries). Renders common antibiotics useless, so that humans can no longer benefit from their use (in exchange for artificially cheap, low quality meat that tastes like ass). Creates antibiotic resistant superbugs that raise hospital mortality rates in surgical wards, etc. Not hypothetically, but demonstrably so. Also sometimes creates other horrors like zoonotic flu outbreaks, prions, etc.
Cue ten thousand angry retards raging and calling me a vegan because I have standards for what kinds of meat I'll buy and willingly eat. There is a huge side industry that shills for these factory farming operations and attacks the character of anyone who dares question them.

this.
Poor fag here anons, but I love to cook and eat healthy. Obviously food costs money so I dumpster dive and buy the remaining things I want. The places I dive usually have compost programs (some not) so all the produce is in smaller bins for pickup and is picked up very frequently so nothing is rotten. A lot of Food either is ugly or has a small bruise. It is easy to cut it out and not feel bad about cutting off half an apple and tossing the rest. Today I had a good produce score, sometimes canned/dried goods. Have found LOADS of stuff in the past, pretty much everything you can think of. Been doing it for past two years, eating like a king and barely paying for anything. Feels good buying meat and not worrying so much about the price.
Bananas from today. there were at least 5x this in the bins
5 avocadoes, a lemon and some onions. Sounds like I'm going to make some guac. Avocadoes were all pretty soft/mushy, but surprisingly they were all nice and green on the inside!
lemon had a bad spot on the other end. cut off 1/3 of it but the rest was still cash
Found this hiding on the top shelf when I was liquor shopping today, was a bit dusty when I picked it up but that's not entirely unusual, upon closer inspection the labels look quite old, and I'm unable to find anything resembling it on google. Looking for any information, thoughts or opinions on this bottle before I open it up.
Slightly closer shot of the front label, paper lid cover removed.
Rear label, note the lack of barcode and surgeon general warnings.

I've become a vegetarian because my wife threatened to leave me if I didn't (she wanted me to become a vegan, but we compromised... so inb4 "cuck").
I'm trying to find meat alternatives that taste and have a similar texture to real meat.
Best I've found so far is pic related with which I use to make a decent chilli or spaghetti bolognese.
anyone recommend some meat alternatives ?
Cuck
Grow some fucking balls and tell her that she can pay her own bills if she doesn't want you to eat meat.

Is there anything to wine pretentiousness or is it just for rich faggots?
>>7529834
I enjoy wine, though I rarely go out of my way to buy a bottle just for myself. I enjoy the process of slowly gazing through the aisles of different smooth bottles. It's fun to evaluate the tacky marketing and read the elaborate, sometimes romantic descriptions of labels. Or cool to ponder about the decades of decadence and family lifestyle left after the first French baron decided to bottle and cultivate his fermented grapes. The fun thing is also to discover an inexpensive but juicy wine that you can keep drinking. Although I've wasted a lot of time with shockingly bland South American wines.
I always find after the 4 glasses are done too - I have just enough (a little over a shot?) of wine to marinate a steak overnight. Butter in the pan, 2 minutes on each side and 13 minutes in the oven. Salt and pepper.
Lots of utility in a single bottle of wine compared to other alcohols.
I've never, ever sat down at a restaurant with friends to gush about the aromas or flavour notes of wine. I find the act of that in a public setting is usually posturing. Just sip it with your meal and enjoy. Perhaps the people who think it's necessary to always broadcast their opinion on whatever they drink are the ones who give the impression that wine drinkers are pretentious.
depends
I'm going to go with a tentative "yes".
We need a little more sophistication, /ck/.
Holy fucking shit. After this, I will never buy "ice cream" again
Was like pure god nectar

ITT: foods you hated/despised as a child, but love now as a man child.

I hope you change your life around anon, I would hate for something bad to happen to you, please try to eat better for your sake.

Fermented sugar water tastes better, is cheaper, and also gets you drunk.
