Is there such a thing as food that can help alleviate depression? My therapist said something like junk food can really hurt you but I've never heard of that before and I suppose if anyone was to know about it'd be you guys.
So then I'll just ask if you know of any foods that can help alleviate symptoms of depression
when i cut out junk food and high sodium foods from my diet i noticed i felt a lot happier overall. that was just me though, but it might not be a bad idea to cut that stuff from your diet.
if your emotional state is already fragile, being generally unhealthy makes you feel worse. It's not that there are foods that alleviate depression. It's that if you are devouring tons of junk, overdosing on sugar, and missing out on vitamins, you're adding a general layer of biological shittiness on top of whatever else was bringing you down.

>HOME MADE
America, everyone.
Got sick and missed my cousin's birthday. Want to make it up to her and take her someplace nice. We live in San Diego, any ideas of a good nice place that's not 5 star restaurant but still good place to get tipsy and maybe fool around without worrying about wandering eyes?
>>7580314
Fool around with your cousin?
>>7580317
LOL excuses my language... I mean, how to say, eat pussy under table?? That help m8?
Why not just get a bottle of champagne and a nice hotel room? No one can see you behind closed doors.
Also the risk of birth defects even with first cousins is severely overstated, as long as you aren't repeating the process for generations it's no more risky than say, having kids past the age of 30, which most of you prudes are totally ok with.
how should i prepare these bad boys?
>buying vacuumed meat
Hope you enjoy the taste of something that was frozen since the WW2.
Put into a grinder and make tacos.

seer it on a really hot pan with a little bit of oil, then add a nob of butter and keep splashing it over with a spoon. Take out of the pan and let it rest in some tin foil. Then make some gravy out of the remaining butter and oil in the pan by adding some flower first mix it in and the add a splash of beer. Now enjoy it like a man! Also add lots of pepper and sea salt
fine dining friend, here.. have some pics
>pacific white sturgeon
>confited salsify, dredged in rice/tapioca flour/cornstarch, tossed in burnt honey/rolled in herbs
>blanched cabbage w/ginger kimchi we made rolled inside
>pan sauce of reduced kimchi juice/butter/lemon juice/sherry vin/salt
>>7580154
>12 hr brined, cold smoked jidori chicken
>oven roasted
>house made pickled things/sauces
>>7580154
That looks really good, but I thought fine dining stopped that weird misuse of the term "confit" a while back.
I never really understood what it means, how do you confit a salisfy?
>>7580159
cook it in fat?
i guess it's "braised", but it's braised in olive oil/aromatics instead of stock or whatever
Had sushi for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd time this week. I have missed out for so long. Educate me on best sushi. Are the places with 1/2 off signs safe? Is this food healthy?
>>7580110
I really like Eel and get at least one order everytime. Same with tuna. I always ask for Toro but no one ever has it at the time. When it comes to rolls I stay away from cream cheese or anything fried.
of course you always gotta start with miso and get some warm sake.
>>7580241
"start with miso" you fucking baka gaijin you finish with miso
>>7580269
sorry I'm not a weeb. I've been to at least 20 different sushi places and every single one of them offer salad/miso to start.
Every time i eat string cheese i feel like i have eaten a shitload of needles. Nothing compares to the horrific pain of your insides shredding after eating string cheese. Every other cheese is fine but fucking stupid idol of USA attempts to kill you why would you eat this shit.

>Blaming an entire nation for your lactose intolerance

Tried Beaver Tails and what do you think of them?
>>7579895
They look like elephant ears.

Well they remind me of hash browns.
The Chinese in Canada surely must be disappointed when they find out it isnt real beaver.

How do I make good delicious food? Where do I start with finding resources for this?
>tfw no sticky
You start by fucking picking up after yourself.
>>7579825
Just eat tins of tuna.
>>7579825
You start with onions. Saute one minute. Add garlic.
So we haven't even addressed a specific meal, but your dish is going to be 10x tastier than if you weren't doing this.
Pho Thai Nguyen in Oklahoma City
I've been a loyal patron of this place for about 10 years. There are 20+ pho joints in this part of OKC and this one is the finest in my opinion, but I rarely get pho there. They have other dishes that are WAY better.
The plastic foliage and utilitarian decor seem to highlight the fact their top priority is the food
so what's the best way to drink wine?
>>7579571
orally
Without any regard to how it tastes.
>>7579571
Cheap, French, and straight from the bottle.
What do you like to make with fish sauce?
Beef stew.
>>7579546
stir fry mostly
Two tablespoons of fish sauce goes into my legendary curries
I always julienne my vegetables with my "juliette"
>>7579459
I'm a cunt of a chef, so I would like to buy that knife on the right to bring into work.

Hey /ck/, what should I do with my celery leaves?
I have about one kilogram of leaves and the top of the stalks.
Was thinking a pesto, and maybe a tonic or syrup, thoughts?
Make a syrup and do celery soda
Spinach and celery leave sautee
Sesame and canola oil in a saucepan, sautee some garlic. Add vinegar, salt, pepper and red chile flake and stir. Add celery greens and spinach for a minute or two and serve
Get some parsley, a chicken, an onion and a carrot or two.
Then make chicky chicky soop soop.
