Is instant ramen healthy? I went biking a whole lot today and when I went back home there was nothing to eat but this. Did I just nullify the effects of the entire workout during the day?

no

no

That's not how to do it

Yes, you probably offset most if not all of your caloric expenditure by eating a massive bowl of carbs, but cycling has many other health benefits unrelated to weight loss

I've been wanting this job since I was 20 but I've been out of college for 5 years already. Should I lie? Should i wear lots of jewelery?

How many McDonald's cheeseburgers can you eat in a row? My record is 17. If you can't eat at least 10, kill yourself.

I did 12 hamburgers once.
Can't stand the cheese they use on the cheeseburgers, fucking awful.
>>
Back in the day they had $.29 Hamburger Wednesdays and $.39 Cheeseburger Sundays. My grandmother used to buy like 30 of each on those days for a house of 3 people. She didn't have to cook for days.

What are your favorite cooking shows, /ck/?

I personally enjoy Cutthroat Kitchen and Good Eats

The reality show format of CK really bothers me. Good Eats is terrific. I also watch Gordon's at home thing he does.

Mostly though I just watch non-shows on Youtube. They tend to be more about the cooking than the cook.

Travels shows are pretty good actually, but that's mostly about eating.
>>
Cutthroat just got too ridiculous for its own good. Oh you have to tape a spatula to your hands and use jelly beans in your dish while also jacking me off. All those types of shows are just Chopped rip offs which is the GOAT.

Growing up, my mother used nothing but cast iron. I learned to cook on cast iron. Tried "non-stick" pans recently only to find that they're absolute garbage.
>>
>>7597216
cast iron may be heavy but way worth it and only thing that trumps it are copper pans

What kind of macro beer to you get when it's the only options? I mean like when you go to a baseball game, backyard bbq, or big concert. Basically the kind of situation where you want beer but theres only dad-tier pisswater. I think original Budweiser is the best dad-beer. Unlike most of the light beers it does have a small amount of flavor. It isn't a particularly good flavor but it almost tastes like beer. I find it inoffensive and somewhat good if there isn't anything else.

So I am in a predicament.
>good job
>temporary accommodation till new apartment in a few months
>kitchenette - no cooking appliances. Can't "cook" by agreement
>have ricecooker and crockpot that does most of the work.

I am looking at some semi-healthy but mainly easy to make filling snacks for work, and I was thinking of learning how to make onigiri or similar.

Anyone experienced in these that could lend some advise and or preferred fillings/flavours?

I don't have access to furikake, however I am going to take a drive to the local asian grocer/minimart that might stock it.

Not a big fan of canned tuna either, but some of the more expensive brands flavoured kinds are acceptable (I've owned far too many cats, it tastes fine, but the smell gets me).

Save me /ck/ from a terrible few months of sandwiches.

I started this, feel free to add shit.

I was thinking of buying this root beer I saw at the store. But then I looked at it and it said it's alcoholic. What are your thoughts on Not your Father's Root Beer? Does it taste good?
36 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>7596816
The first few sips taste almost exactly like root beer but if you let it warm up at all it rapidly becomes a sickly sweet mess and the booze shows up in the flavor. It's meant for people that can't drink non-sweet drinks.
>>
>>7596816

I hate alcoholic root beer, quite honestly. The overpowering vanilla and other flavorings just don't fit right with the "beer" part of it.

I mean, either get good root beer, or have a fucking regular beer, there's no reason to go combining the two.
>>
It loses the novelty after 2 bottles. And at 10.99 a six pack I'd rather throw some Evan Williams in my root beer for the same effect

medicore hot sauce.
Should have bought Sriracha.
>>
A really good time.

It's been when half gone and aged for a few months. The flavors become richer and it tastes like an entirely different sauce. Think of it as a Frank's (vinegar based hot sauce), but with a more southern accent to it. I love the stuff, especially aged. I have 2 open bottles right now half gone and steeping away, letting father time make it all happy.
>>
Haven't tried it but I'm gonna guess:
Very liquid, insanely salty. Vinegar and salt is the first thing you taste...heat comes in last. Just like every other Tabasco sauce. Try again, and the salt-vinegar combo assaults your mouth while the water-like consistency drips all over the place...

too bad so sad

What is the best liquor to have at night, just before sleeping? Does someone does this? I have heard wine helps with sleeping. Also my grandfather used to drink an eighth of hard liquor but it tastes like shit.

I work the night shift, and I like to come home and have a nice glass of scotch before bed.
>>
I've been drinking a glass to a bottle of wine before bed every night for the last ten years and I sleep like a baby.

The best is biodynamic wine, I'm partial to clos de tue boeuf. Never a headache in the morning, even if I overdo it a little.

I'm looking for a light (no cast iron), shallow non-stick pan primarily for making eggs and breakfast potatoes. I adjust the eggs with a fork, so teflon isn't an option. Is ceramic any good? Never used it.

Calphalon's Signature and Elite lines of cookware can be used with metal utensils. Or you could just not be an idiot and buy a plastic spatula.

What is your honest opinion on Gordon Ramsay, /ck?

His reality shows give me epileptic seizures(Hell's Kitchen), but his YT channel is great, and he seems like a cool guy; despite some of his appearances on-screen.

Check out his AMA, for example.

I love his stuff, and he actually motivated me to cook more.
