Who here is /obese/ and proud?
We are lucky to be born in a time and place where we can get amazing food for so cheap, why not take advantage of it?
Travel the world in a day with a classic full English breakfast, Chinese take out lunch, and comfy burger for dinner

You could eat that every day without ever getting fat. You must eat more than that if you're really obese, unless your portion sizes are disgusting.
>>7595996
That's three days worth of food, Mr. Phelps.
Hi /ck/, I recently started making dry beans in a crockpot.
They turned out well and I've been having them with rice and ground turkey this week.
Other than soup or chili, any other ideas for meals using beans?
>>7602083
burritos
salad
nobody cooks beans in a crockpot.
Who else is sick and fucking tired of this faggot? Every country he goes to he paints it in a positive light without ever saying a single negative thing about the place despite the country being a festering shithole. For instance, I was watching an episode a few days ago where he went to India and instead of going to any designated shitting streets he goes to some palace instead. Well of course you're going to be biased if the only fucking places you go to in a country are made for tourists.
Don't even get me started on the South Africa episode...
I don't own a television and the only time I've seen this show is when some guy used to spam a video streaming channel on /ck/
It was your average television-tier garbage, I don't know why this one is especially bad

Just look at his face and tell me you don't want to smash his head in with a hammer

but i love his show

Stuffed meme mushrooms? No thanks OP
These are just general stereotypes. Obviously one can be an awesome griller and suck when It comes to making a cake. I know this but just for fun sake lets do this.
How Would you rate yourself and your skills?
0 - A horrible cook ( can't boil water)
1- A mediocre cook ( can make one or two things on the stove, baking is a challenge, and you still prefer eating out to cooking)
2 - an OK cook ( you can cook and bake a few things well, still learning the basics) maybe you can grill meat ok but still struggle with grilling other things.
3- you can cook and bake at least 5 different meals, grill skills have evolved, a basic level of confidence when cooking. What you can make your good at. Still dependent on recipes but beginning to branch out and experiment. Your learning cooking and kitchen lingo. Maybe even cooking with wine.
4- you can cook more than 5 meals without difficulty, baking and grilling are no problem. People like your food. Your confident in your abilities and might cook for more than yourself everyday. You've memorized recipes and create your own. Your good in the kitchen, maybe work in a restaurant.
5- your basically just fucking awesome in the kitchen and everyone, including yourself knows this.

student with lots of roommates. Often cook for them. Know how to cook all major proteins to the point, make doughs (pasta, pizza and so forth), sauces, classic risottos/pastas, coconut based curries.
My egg yolks still sometimes scramble over my carbonara, even if taken off the heat. Yes mad.
4 pretty accurately describes me.
Why do you think grilling is some special technique that requires a high skill level? Deep frying can be a more challenging station than grill.
So I bought some fried tofu on wednesday, took it home by train in my backpack and put it in the fridge. Today I opened it and it smells horrible. I'm scared to even try a bit, its stench repels me. I ate tofu before in restaurants and enjoyed it, but I have no idea how fresh packaged tofu is supposed to smell. Is it spoiled?
>>7601276
Depends. Some tofu are seasoned. Look at the expiration date for yours, if not.
In my experience fried tofu is just sort of gross.
>not buying tofu to fry yourself
what's the point of this?
Just for looks. Placebo effect maybe
>>7601067
you mean what are the four points of this
those are the corners, anon
helps if you're trying to eat three squares a day
What can be done about doughnuts? There has been no innovation in them since krispy kreme. Its the same shitty dunkn donuts and grocery store donuts for 50 years.
Try buying your doughnuts somewhere other than the grocery store.
>doughnut innovation
Well since the collapse of the Soviet Union the military industrial complex has cut back on advanced doughnut research, as they simply don't need doughnuts that advanced any more. Middle-eastern fighters can normally be stopped with a simply jelly doughnut, or at a pinch, a chocolate glazed.
That hasn't been my experience. My city (really the only city that counts) was overrun by "fancy" donut shops about 7 years ago, I believe you gastronomically deprived flyovers call this "memefood". The worst of them have finally closed doors, but there is certainly no shortage of "innovation" if you want to call it that (then again /ck/ thinks dumping too much hops into beer is "innovation" so...)
Anyway I'm not really crazy about donuts but I've had some cronuts from ansel (the actual ansel not the fake ass cronuts that don't even taste like cronuts). Those are pretty good, in terms of less famous shops, Dough also makes a pretty decent donut. With so many donut shops there is no excuse for having anything but the very best. Especially since it's like a once every two months kind of deal. Because to be quite honest, croissants are superior, from the perspective of breakfast.
Two months ago i went vegetarian and ive gained weight. Am I retarded?
I dont know how but i think it might be that i only eat beans and cheese. I thought i would be doing myself a favor. Im past the point of craving meat all the time so i probably wont switch back be cause the smell of most meats grosses me out for some reason now, i think its just because i havent had meat in a while so my body just wants to reject it or something. Im sure if i ate it i would like it but i see no point. Any tips? i really am putting on the pounds. And its not like i was healthy beforehand i use to eat mcdonalds all the time along with other fast food. As of today im just not eating until i figure out some sort of meal plan or new foods
>>7600638
Wow. Beans, cheese and rice are very calorie dense. That's why people in poverty eat little of it and don't die.
If your looking to loose weight eat one main meal of rice, black beans and whatever veg you like, Peppers, broccoli, sweetcorn, carrot, radish, etc. Then eat salads with either very low cal (11-20 cal per 15g) or no dressing. Avoid avocado, avoid too much fruit and have 2-3 pieces a day.
So you went vegetarian and didn't actually eat any vegetables? Am I getting that right?
Also beans and cheese make you fat.
>>7600650
Everything can make you fat. Eating too much makes you fat.
What sauce do you put on your reubens?
>>7600571
Ketchup.
>>7600571
If it's a Rueben, then Thousand Island dressing. I don't think that you can call it a Ruben if you use anything else.

ITT: ethnic foods you refuse to eat. I refuse to try chinese food, I can't imagine myself eating dog meat.
theres nothing wrong with eating dogs. fuck dogs.
Hey man, nothing wrong with designated eating dogs.
Would you rather eat a work animal that can drag all your shit and fertilize your fields or eat the animal that evolved from living off welfare and does jack shit.
None because I'm not a fussy twelve year old.
Hello /ck/, I'm an unmotivated faggot living together with his mom in a small apartment (we live in Asia) and I leave most of the cooking to her. 22 year old and I still can't cook for shit.
>pic related, it's my microwaved lunch I finished half an hour ago. It was absolutely shit.
I want to start learning to cook. Where should I start? I don't want those fancy meals I just want to be able to cook for myself, and eat healthily. Any tips are welcome and if you do have similar beginner's learning experience please share because I find that to be very helpful.
Also be aware that mine is a very poor household so all the cooking utensils and cookwares we have include a two rice cookers, an electric stove that we (my mom) do most of the cooking on, a microwave oven, pans and pots and other general stuff. Not a lot to work with I know, but the upside is that we live near a food market (if you've ever come to Asia you know what it's like) so there's no shortage of fresh and cheap ingredients, especially veggies.
I will post more details if necessary so ask away, I appreciate any and all kinds of support. Thanks.
>>7600409
Where in Asia?
>>7600427
Northen Vietnam, near central Hanoi
I got my first cooking lessons from my parents (was younger and didn't really talk to anyone on the interwebs). Since you live with your mom, I'm assuming she cooks at least every now and then, or at least she knows how to cook
Why not start with that? I think that if you start with stuff suggested here it'll be food that's not very typical for Vietnam. Local food works best for the locals usually so...
Just ask/tell your mom dude.
Anyway, easiest things to start with are eggs (scrambled, omelettes) and stuff with chicken
What foods/drinks give you, personaly, LITERAL erections?
None?

What the hell is wrong with you?

What is the best cereal, and why is it frosted mini wheats?
Why do they call them mini wheats? Not only are they not mini, but they are actually way too big.
MOM brand mini spooners is better and cheaper
So this is the best 8 dollar cook book I've ever owned. Great fast recipes that you can make on a budget or if you just don't want to leave the house. Stories ranging from Knee slapping hilarious or tragic storys about the penal system failing these people
Just made a bowl of orange porkies (Pork rinds coated in a sauce made of Orange Kool Aid served on ramen and or rice) and it was fucking awesome if extremely sour. might mod it with less Kool Aid or the premixed concentrate.
any one else have interesting cook books or more "Prison" style recipes?
>>7600391
My dad used to make "Jailhouse noodles" from when he was in prison.
It was ramen, doritos, and pretty much anything else he could find...
It wasn't bad, but it wasn't really that good either.
>>7600401
I've found Ive got to modify the recipes but there are some honest winners. Ramen Burritos are ingenious on hiking/camping trips.
But the fact that these people have figured out ways to match food on the outside is speaks to me about the human spirit. "keep it fresh"Ramen is the best recipe though.
>>7600391
how about some recipes from it then?
