I want to make chili. I'm pretty sick of versions that use "chili powder"

What are the most delicious dried chilies to use, and in what ratios? The only fresh chilies available at the grocery in my shitty location are jalapeno, serrano, poblano and occasionally, habenero. These are ok, but don't really achieve the flavor I'm looking for.

Basically, I'm going to buy some dried chilies online and want advice.

Zero replies in 13+ hours. I thought you guys would know about this stuff. You talk about chili enough.

It's less "talking about chili" and more "bitching about beans."

Sorry, I didn't even see this thread. I can help you out bro, I make my own chile paste for Chili all the time. Just give me a sec to gather my thoughts on it.

Why are these called sausages when they're clearly not sausages?
201 posts and 28 images submitted.

>>7605106
Why must you attack the system in such ways? You are not suppose to question it. Just accept it and baaa baaaaa on.
>>
>>7605106
Sausage is a blend of ground meats and spice, you just associate the term Sausage with the casing is it packed in.
>>
>>7605140
So a hamburger is a sausage? So is a hot dog by what you say.

Ginger ale can't be that great to you if you're not listing a brand.

I like Vernor's.

Every time I see Squirt it just reminds me of disgusting porn videos and I refuse to try it

Is putting beer in chili a meme?

Why would anyone do this?

Because you used the word meme, you've invalidated your entire point.

A family-owned restaurant/microbrewery called the Draft House. Pretty good, it's a Wisconsin family place so it's mostly hearty food and lots of kinds of stuff that involve brats or cheese

I'm hoping to get some input from any anons in the industry here.

I've outgrown my Kitchenaid mixer and I'm looking to upgrade it. I don't need anything enormous, but I do need something that's sturdier than the kitchenaid and can mount a proper meat grinder rather than the tiny little bastard that goes with the KA. Anyone have any suggestions? Looking for the 10-12 quart size range with a standardized # head to mount the meat grinder.

Sorry, USA. The difference in voltage is no problem as I have 240V receptacles in my kitchen but I'll be damned if I'm going to pay shipping on that heavy bastard from the UK.

Does /ck/ have a favorite infomercial? My favorite has to be the Dr. Oz approved "The Fat Magnet." This device was designed to suck non nutritional ingredients such as fat out of normally unhealthy food thus making it seem healthier for consumption

This shit is notorious bad for not working...not even in theory does this shit sound like it works

We've also got really poor nutritional education, which is why so many people think that low-fat/nonfat foods can be eaten by the truckload.

Went there once in Vegas after an American buddy of mine was constantly raving about the place.

Honestly, found everything very mediocre. Standard family restaurant chain fare. Nothing bad, but nothing incredible. Menu is gigantic, though. They have fucking everything.
