>Best cut
>Pennies per pound
How does that happen?
Hey kid, wanna butt?
>>7635349
Normies dont know how to cook it so they mistakenly think it's gristly trash. DO NOT correct them on this, or it will go the way of ox tail.
>>7635349
because normies think fat is bad
What's so bad about butter?
Ir goes hard in the fridge
Who said butter is bad?
I prefer it over ketchup on rice and baked potatoes
What is it about surburban white people cooking that is so bland and overcooked? Is this the way they were raised?
>be asian
>go for dinner at friend's place
>his mom serves the blandest spaghetti and meatballs I've ever tasted
>she microwaves tomatoes in a cup and smashes them, serves it as sauce over plain mushy spaghetti on the plate
>meatballs are a sad grey color and boiled, no seasoning at all to be tasted
>manage to choke down a few bites and nod politely in approval
>see friend chowing down happily
>see that we have a long way to go with cooking for him
Well hey if one middle class white family did it one time, it most definitely applies to all of them every time.
>>7633664
This is actually far more likely to happen in Asian households than white families. Whites use money to support their laziness. The vast majority would just buy Prego or Ragu sauce, and microwave frozen meatballs.
2/10 zipperhead bait
>Manage to choke some down
OH MAN. TOMATOS, NOODLES, AND BALLS OF GROUND BEEF. SO DIFFICULT TO EAT, MIGHT JUST VOMIT.
OP, don't you think that you just might be a bit of a cunt?
So you're a poor student who's also an alcoholic. What vodka (or alternative spirit) do you rely on to get you intoxicated.
Over time, I've developed a taste for bottom shelf vodka which tastes like gasoline. I'm not sure why, but I think it has something to do with the savage pleasure I get from sculling something which tastes so foul.
Pic related, it's my current cycle of cheap, trashy vodka.
Kamchatka
Glens: The Exciting Vodka
There is a ceretian pleasure to drinking shit booze.
Its an admission to ones self that you're just trying to get fucked up and the shit taste is almost like penance.
You have no illusions. You've made peace with your carnal nature. And now you're buzzed.
Cheap Booze .Its like a hang over twice! One on the way down and again come tomorrow!
how do i cook for a picky bf?
a few of the things he doesn't like:
garlic, onions, ginger, tomatoes, fish, asparagus, cheese, sweet and spicy things in general. pepper is already spicy in his books...
he also only really eats pork. beef and chicken if need be. no lamb, horse, or anything like it.
do i cave to all those picky eating? do i have to stick to cook without those ingredients alltogether?
i feel like it limits my options a great deal. especially since some of those things are staples in my cookin.
can i expect him to eat something he doesn't LOVE from time to time or is that unreasonable?
i won't start making two dishes... but i don't want to never be able to eat those things myself. i love them.
pic related. i could not cook that. it uses ginger, garlic and spring onions...
You're fucking a toddler. Hidden, reported, called the police, pederast.

Picky people are honestly so immature and frustrating. I don't know what to tell you, honestly. Either tell him to sack up and stop being such a baby and learn to like real food, or cook two meals every time you guys want to eat together. Or you know, break up with him for being such a little shit baby.
Sorry, I guess. It's jsut that every picky person I've ever known was extremely immature and self-involved, so now I just assume it's how all picky people are.

Reminder :
-Please timestamp your submission! Detailing the cooking process/posting a vertical is encouraged but not required. If posting multiple photos, you don't need to timestamp each one, as long as the final submission photo is timestamped.
-You MUST use a unique identifier; if you don't want to use a tripcode, you must have some other way to distinguish yourself from the other contestants, such as a cute bird or scary statue in your timestamped entry, as long as it's clearly visible and you use it consistently.
**Also, please be nice to each other. I'm growing incredibly tired of the toddle's tantrums being thrown around this year.***
Voting will be carried out in this thread. Please read the voting guidelines below.

VOTING GUIDELINES
Voting follows an 'Iron Chef' style scoring system. This means you, the people of /ck/, will judge each entry individually instead of deciding on what you feel is the "best" dish.
Dishes are scored out of a total 20 points, based on 4 categories (worth a maximum of 5 points each); Presentation, Originality, Appeal and Challenge Goals. You may award 0's if you feel the contestant did not meet your expectations for a category.
-Presentation: The appearance of items on the plate; plating skills
-Originality: Creativity in composing the dish
-Appeal: How appetizing the food looks/whether or not the dish appeals to your personal taste as a voter
-Challenge Goals: How closely the entry followed the challenge goal(s)
The distinction between Presentation and Appeal: If someone submits an artfully arranged but burnt steak as an entry, it may score high in Presentation but low in Appeal.
For additional info and to see submissions from Previous years, check out the Challenge blog. (http://ckchallenge.blogspot.ca/)

The theme of Round Eight is...
Colors
No a roll round this year since that got me a ban warning... Still, pick a color and make that color the absolute essence of your dish. While you're perfectly welcome to make a large spread of food, please make sure there is clearly a "main dish" because that is what people will be voting on.
Two contestants will not be moving on to the next round.
Scorecard.
Yellowmug, as the winner of the round, please get in touch with me for your prize.
Knakwurst, Blaukraut, saurkraurt, bread, butter, potatoes
A liter of dark larger
Fantastic example of the worst cuisine on the planet
Good stuff
Looks gud, I'm sorry you're eating all alone
Which one do you prefer? Why?
i found both to be super disappointing actually
>>7621858
What did you order?
IHOP always.
While IHOPS can vary from place to place, Dennys is consistently bad. The last couple of times I had to eat at a Dennys, I threw up afterwards, and I wasn't even drunk. That's a huge red flag.
What other are good chickpea recipes besides hummus?
>>7622435
If they don't have to be pureed, channa masala.
Otherwise, falafel are alright.
I like using them in mujudrah (sp?) recipe.
Basically it is Lebanese rice and lentils with caramelized onions. Chickpeas go well if I need to use them.
What is American food?
Most countries you can easily identify their food.
I mean American in origin, not like hamburgers and hotdogs which are both German in origin.
The closest i can think of is barbecue.
>>7631235
Corndogs
Tex Mex is my favorite
Buffalo wings.
Have you ever heard of Jollibee, /ck/? I saw it on Anthony Bourdain's Phillipines show earlier and it sparked my interest. Its an extremely popular fast food franchise in the Phillipines and is basically their own version of McDonalds. They sell burgers, fried chicken, some weird looking phillipino spaghetti, and other fast foods with a Phillipino twist. I did some research and found out there are a handful of these places in America, one of them being in a nearby major city. I'm sort of excited to try it next time I'm in town.

Really mediocre chain. Don't get too excited.
What's the best Chinese food delivery dish? Gonna treat myself to some greasy nonsense tonight.
kung pao chicken
The one with MSG, cornstarch, and rice.
If a place includes baby corn they get another extra 10 points.
I get my Chinese to buy from the kfc across the road from me and deliver it to me.
Id recommend you do that.
>recipe calls for a can of x
Yeah I hate that, I never have canned variables around.
>>7628388
>2016
>still using canned x instead of the infinitely superior canned y
>trying to figure out how to convert "can of beans" into beans I cooked myself
Fuck everyone who uses canned beans. You deserve death.
If you only had access to a microwave, what would you prepare?
Baked potato
Thanks, OP, that's what I'm having for lunch
>>7627695
I'd probably not eat as much meat, especially because the searing of it is what makes it really tasty to me
so I guess mostly pasta dishes with vegetables
I'd probably make a lot of baked goods too (or I guess microwaved goods)
>>7627695
I'm about to find out in a month, if I can afford a microwave.
