Has anyone had this brand? I'm genuinely amazed how they manage to stay in business. This shit is barely edible.

If you pronounce it sandwich then I don't care if it was umami or sewage, you earned my respect. Mouth breathers who say sam-widge need to be tortured.

I have two pounds (about 1kg) of good ground beef from out local butcher 25\75 IIRC. It had been frozen, the wife pulled it out last night but did not use it.

It needs to be used today. She has been trying to stay fairly low carb.

I need recipe ideas other than meatloaf, taco meat, meatballs, burgers, or stuffed peppers.

Pantry and fridge are full, and I have to go out today anyway so other ingredients are pretty openly available.

Help, want to make something interesting, but coming up blank.

I'd make autumn soup even if it's not the season for it.

If not for the carb crap I'd have said meaty macaroni.

>25\75 IIRC
Wut mean?

Make a big pan of tomato sauce with meat balls
>>
>>7624617

No ideas really, but keep in mind that "trying to go to go relatively low carb" isn't going to be helpful if she's going low carb like three days in a row, and then tossing in a cheat day where she eats a whole bunch of bread. She has to stick to it, which "relatively" makes me assume she's not. It doesn't operate like a normal low calorie diet.

So I had a grease fire the other day.

I haven't the slightest clue what caused it.

I simply put some oil (Sapporito Olive and Canola oil mix) in the pan, heated the pan to about 8 and... Well, after a few minutes, it just went up in flames.

This caused a lot of soot to spread throughout my kitchen, and I had to paint the kitchen as a result.

Does anybody have any ideas as to why this happened?

Again, I heated the pan to about 8, 2 full levels below the max setting. There are tons of recipes that call for max heat so either my burner runs too hot or there's something wrong with my oil.

Brand of oil used:

Pretty sure it got too hot, chief
>>
You can smell and see the oil as it approaches the combustion point. How anyone could have missed the clues (which are not subtle at all) is beyond me.

Did you just turn on the stove and leave the room to play video games or something?

Water has started to sound very unappetizing. It probably has to do with the fact that I recently switched to city water instead of home done filtration. I need something with a different taste, but isnt unhealthy to the point ill get diabetes or something three months over. I may not even care if it tastes bad, ill get used to it.
Is sparkling water / bottled water the best bet? Or are there even healthier alternatives?

Cheap spring water sold by the gallon.

Why not just get a water jug or bottle with filter?

I don't think it's possible to have healthier alternatives to water.

Cold tea is how I drink water. A big mason jar full of water, and any berry flavored tea with no sugar. Pic related.

>I can cook better food than you can get at any restaurant
When you say this, what you mean is you've never been to a good restaurant.

How can you say your food is good when you've never had good food, /ck/?

Exposure to good food is crucial if you want to improve yourself.

A lot of home cooks fall in this category. This is why some restaurants are special.
>>
>>7624159
Agreed.
I don't eat out much because I'm both quite a good cook and exceedingly frugal, but when I do, I don't generally order things I can cook or that aren't labour intensive. Like... I can make pho, but fuck it if I'm gonna spend all the time to do it what with all the roasting the bones and the onions and the ginger and making the stock and cooking the brisket and all that shit. Nuh-uh, nigga. I buys that shit both because it's too involved for me to do it myself and because mine, while pretty good (and actually better than a few pho joints around me), isn't that much better or even as good as many of the pho places.

But if it's something less involved, like loklak or chao tom, fuck paying for it.

What do you think of this pizza, /ck/? It's from the grocery store.
33 posts and 3 images submitted.

I think posters like you are the reason /ck/ is objectively the shittiest board (excluding /b/, obviously).

Its a fucking pizza you faggot op. It looks like shit, isnt even a circle, isnt even a real square pizza meme. Probably cost them $0.50 to produce and you payed them $7 like the little bitch you are rather than making your own for a fraction of the cost and ten times the flavor.

Because I am a nice guy on a cooking board, I will help you since you are obviously too autistic to google pizza recipes for yourself.

>Packet instant yeast
>1 and 1/2 cups warm water
>Tablespoon sugar

Mix and let sit 15 mins

>Teaspoon salt
>Tablespoon oil
>Tiny bit of flour

Mix

Add flour until dough is like play-dough that you played with as a kid in your special classroom until you were 12 and Dubya's no child left behind act forced you to go to real class with the other kids

Knead dough for as long as you can until your hands hurt. No doubt less than 20 kneads because your obese atrophied arms haven't done more than lift a pizza and type on a keyboard for the past 20 years of your life.

Put into clean boil coated with oil
plastic wrap on top
pre-heat oven to 425
put bowl with dough on top
Let sit one hour while you go jerk your 2 inch cock to anime girls vomiting on eachother

Take plastic wrap off dough, punch it down to get rid of excess air. I know this step might be difficult for your flimsy arms so to get the adrenaline pumping enough for you to be capable, imagine the dough is your parents that never really loved you because they were ashamed they produced such a retard.

Cover again and let sit another hour while you watch K-ON and cry to yourself that you have never had a girlfriend.

After the hour is up, punch it down again and knead it 5 times so it is a ball again. Lightly oil dish that you are cooking pizza on, and pinch off enough dough to make a pizza. Cook it halfway, then add toppings and finishing cooking and enjoy a real pizza you dumb sack of shit.

All my life I have heard of the existence of Rock Candy namely in Children's Cartoon's. Where the fuck do you find Rock Candy?

Does it taste good?
16 posts and 5 images submitted.
>>
>>7623895

It tastes like flavored hard sugar (which it is).

Whether it tastes good or not depends entirely on what flavors are in it.
>>
>>7623896

This shit looks like it would destroy your teeth.

Don't nerds technically classify as Rock Candy? Nerds look like little pebbles.
>>
>>7623897

Technically.
I think Jolly Ranchers (I'm not American) are technically rock candy as well.
Boiled Lollies are the same thing, if you've had those.

How am I supposed to enjoy this?

I mostly stick to ciders, but after hearing great things about this from friends I decided to pick up two bottles.

The bitter aftertaste is what is getting to me, and I'm not sure if I'm drinking it right. Warm or cold? From the bottle, or in a snifter?

I've gone through one bottle already, and it reminds me heavily of a skunked Heineken

what is it with you people?
why do you need someone telling you what you should think and like, and how?
i know it's a cliche, but just be yourself ffs. you don't like the bitter aftertaste, drink something that doesn't leave one
Jesus wept
>>
>>7623685
i got a bottle of it at christmas, i drank it cold from the bottle, it was fairly bitter but nothing extreme, but it didnt remind me of heineken in the least, in that it actually had flavour.
i would suggest cold from the fridge, either from the bottle or in a cold glass
>>
>>7623685
It's called arrogant bastard because the only people who enjoy such things are arrogant bastards who have to be different and will down shitty bitter beers even when they don't like them just to one-up their acquaintances.

johnnie walker green is back for a limited time

it's the only johnnie walker worth drinking because it is a blend of single malts only, like monkey shoulder. no caramel or eau de vie like all other blended whisky.

The Glenfiddich 12 was underwhelming, is Glenlivet any better?

Excellent as a pizza topping. Marinara sauce got the root of its name, "marine" because traditional recipes were prepared by southern Italian sailors who used the fish they caught but couldn't sell: sardines.
