sup ck i have two wagyu patties that are dethawing. i'm currently thawing out. what's a good approach to cooking them? should i sautee my onions and garlic first with some whipping cream to make a sauce? or is that too much?

dont fuck with your burgers when you have high quality meat.
>season well with salt (more than you think)
>sear well on both sides
>pepper after searing so you dont burn it
>spread mayo and mustard thinly on buns
>bit of lettuce, thinly sliced onion, thick slice of tomato

enjoy your perfect burger. maybe add cheese if you really want to.
>>
>dethawing
So... refreezing?

what's a good stovetop spot to sear? i feel like even going past halfway makes it sear too much. right now i'm buttering up my buns to put in the oven to heat them a bit, and i'm going to season and sear the patties, which then i'll cover quickly in foil so i can keep them warm as i sautee my onions, garlic, and cream to make my sauce. then i'd put it all on top of the burger then the cheese, and on the bottom i was thinking i'd put a thin bit of mayo like you're mentioning. thoughts?

What's a good light rum? I usually drink pic related.

I'd try a good dark (not spiced) rum also. Something in the normal price range pls.

Have any of you ever had a Cluck'en Russian? This deli in New York has it trademarked but I doubt it's so original that nowhere else sells it.

It's fucking amazing. Pic related, I just bought it and devoured it.

It's chicken cutlet, melted muenster cheese, bacon, & russian dressing on a toasted roll. They have a Cluck'en Ranch as well.

Is that a butthole filled with gravy?

How do I get into brewing coffee at home?

I've never really been into coffee when I was younger, but I've had a few cups recently and I think it's definitely something I can get into now.

Would a french press or clever coffee dripper be a good choice to begin with?
Or should I just buy a cheap coffee maker, if so have any recommendations?

I just want to get started with home brewing, if I find it's something I like then I'm willing to dish out more money for better equipment.

French press if you're brewing a nice cup or two at a time. Dripper if you want a bitter pot of stale coffee stewing constantly.
>>
>>7628338
nah m8 drip machine is fine and easier and makes more coffee than a french press with less cleanup
>>
french press is always generally accepted as a good method

always buy whole bean and grind yourself

I could get Chololua, Tapatio or Crystal for my next hot sauce. What are the pros and cons of each?
37 posts and 7 images submitted.
>>
Tapiato is the most balanced.

They're all good but; Crystal is less of a sauce, is heavy on vinegar and soaks in too quickly, and Cholula has a heat to it that pushes out the vinegar and salt.

Tapiato douses well, is hot but not at the expense of flavor, and doesn't do anything to upset or overpower the food you put it on.

I am from Texas.

>I am from Texas.

Christ, I hate people like you. That had nothing to do with his question. OP, I like Crystal, good flavor, not as much heat as I would like though.
>>
>>7628318

It lets OP know I am not someone from the coast who only discovered cheap hot sauce when it became cool along with things like voting Democrat and bisexuality my sophomore year of college two years ago.

I have had cheap hot sauce with 75% of my meals since I was three years old.

Your Mom has good flavor. If you were a hot sauce, you'd be too salty.

It depends on how good your broth is, and whether or not you know how to season food.

Why has no one ever tried to make calamari out of a giant squid? What would it taste like?

Larger squid taste like ass and have terrible texture. Have you even prepared seafood in your life?
>>
tough and filled with parasites
>>
It's the same reason people don't eat lobsters over a certain size.

Lot's of people think the meat becomes tough when they get older, but really it's just that you need to overcook them to cook them through, and they basically turn to rubber.

Why your local store is garbage. Stupid products. Bad items. Lack of choice. Expired foods. Etc.

>go to aldi, looking for unsweetened shredded coconut
>they only have sweetened
>go to the biggest grocery store within 8 miles of me (shoprite)
>the store-brand only comes in sweetened
>the unsweetened is double the price and only available as dried coconut, like you would add to trail mix

Are you fucking kidding me? Why do we need to add sugar to goddamned fucking everything? It's a fucking fruit, it's already sweet. Can't asshats who want diabeetus just add their own damned sugar at home, so the rest of us can have a choice about it? I can't make my recipe now. I refuse to buy shit with added sugar.

>two entire aisles of soda
>no un-sugared coconut

Bonus: was looking for a single snack size bag of chips. They ONLY sold family size bags or those giant sacks of 40 single size baggies.

DISCOUNT RETAILER. They only have the cheapest shit and only what'll sell.

If you want specialist shit, go to a specialist retailer. Or just buy a fucking coconut yourself.
