What's the right way to clean a cast iron skillet? My brother says soap and water I just scrape out any food and rub with a paper towel and salt
You're both right. Pan will get clean. But your brothers way destroys the seasoning which is foundational to good cast iron cooking.

How strict are you about hygiene when cooking at home?
My partner keeps petting the damn dog while cooking and it makes me mad like hell.
Do you actually wash your hands before cooking at home? And keep everything clean and tidy in the kitchen?
>>7883231
Depends on what I'm making desu.
Like a sandwich or basic dry shut u might skip washing my hands but for the most part I always go to the sink first.
Petting the dogs would piss me off too, not to mention getting hair in the god damn food.
>>7883231
Yes to clutter
No to dirty
I have way too much stuff in my kitchen, but it's all clean. Used to live with a spanish chica who never did the dishes and always fried shit in oil. Dirty little slut. Never again.

Where can I find a website that sells decent tea?
I've been told to stay away from Tevanna because they're horribly overpriced, but I don't really know about the alternatives.
A family member's birthday coming up and I'd like to get them some tea leaves. Unfortunately we live far from one another, so I'll likely have to order it online or go to my local tea shop and buy something to ship to them.
As an aside, what's a good tea for people in high-stress jobs besides chamomile?
Should I ask in the morning?
>>7883063
I wish I knew man. Best guess wholesale from a bubble tea company. I usually like experimenting with tea from the local asian market. Tea that reduces anxiety includes lemon balm, nettle (fresh), milky oats/oatstraw or flat-out oat tea, jasmine flowers, white tea, and jasmine oolong tea. Oolong gives you a bit of a balanced boost without burning you out, and jasmine helps with anxiety. Stash tea is alright. Equal Exchange still isn't good. Yorkshire Gold is boss. Ten Ren is decent quality but not top tier. I still have no idea how to find the best, but Ten Ren is the best green tea online I KNOW of that will give you bang for your buck. Teavana is the crack whore of teas.

What is the best spice and why is it cinnamon?
>inb4 sage
I like sage. I like cinnamon. I was at a nursery recently and they had some amazing varieties of mint. I like cilantro. There's just so many wonderful herbs and spices out there. I had a club sandwich for lunch today and the spread was this amazing basil aioli. Why pick a favorite?

Just bought a bottle of pic related for 32 bucks. tastes great and claims that its 12 years old. I know the claims on rum can be kind of dodgy and refuse to believe its that smooth without some kind of additive. Anyone know how much sugar is in a bottle of diplomatico reserva exclusivo? I cant find any info anywhere
Swedish government requires a listing of sugar content in rum, this is pulled off their government liquor website.
http://www.refinedvices.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=485&p=2517#p2517
>Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva 12 Años 41gr/L
That's a lot of fucking sugar
>>7882399
I think smoothness comes from blending with older things as much as this additive theory. I wouldn't worry. If you like drinking it, continue on.
NO ONE drinks rum and worries about sugar. It's a sugar drink. If you are overly worried about your carbs or your hangovers, and you drink like a fish, you switch to vodka and lighten up your mixers. It's as simple as that.
>>7882452
solid point, i guess even the most sugary rums have less sugar by volume than coca cola
