I eat lentils a lot and I don't fart. Beans generally don't make me either, though I eat lots of white/red beans, not baked or refried. If you have the right spices and some stock you can make some delicious stuff.

It's worth getting really good shoes, it'll spare you a lot of wear on your back and knees. Birkenstock clogs are probably my favorites. A bit pricy but they have great support, excellent anti-slip properties, and they're oil resistant, chemical resistant, waterproof etc.

I had a nice pair of work shoes, and a dishwasher stole them on the day he quit.

I don't need to. I brown my food, use appropriate salt. And, if I want some umami, I use tomatoes, mushrooms, anchovies, or whatever the dish needs, without shaking on some chemical that contributes nothing else to the party but the chemical.

I have a dehydrated reaction to it. I wake up the next morning with a split lip when I smile, if I consume MSG the night before. Been this way for 30 years, so I always know if I was dosed in a restaurant..
