I've always been a fan of making my own pesto. Basil, olive oil, parmesan cheese, garlic, and some pine nuts.

Oh, and cranberry relish, too. Cranberries, a bit of orange, and sugar to taste, since some people like the tartness more than others.

Why is it that my homemade pizza crust (almost) always tastes better than restaurant crust? There's a few exceptions, but I've found that in general the crust is treated as merely the thing you put the pizza on rather than the thing that can make or break the flavor. What stops restaurants from perfecting their craft and making crust to die for? Is it an ingredient pricing thing?

Some people are just set in their ways. Where I'm located Detroit style pizza is extremely common, so there's no point in ordering a shitty italian pizza with a dense, inedible cornicione. When I want a pizza, I'll start a dough three days before that. I just leave it in the fridge to cold ferment

I made Rice and Lamb Rogan-Josh,

i said to my mum feel free to get some this was two days ago, and i go to have a midnight meal before bed and foudn she ate half of the last portion so there is just half a portion.

and i told her ffs if your going to eat some eat it when i first make it.

she loses her shit and says you keep sayign i can have some then shout at me when i do.

the problem is she always ALWAYS eats half a portion and does it just and i mean JUST before I go to eat the last portion.

Its like she does this automatically becouse shes too fuckign lazy to make her self food but doesn't acually want to fucking eat a full meal.

And its driving me mad.

i'm living on my own for the first time and i'm trying to cook hamburger meat. i cooked it on both sides, and both sides were a dark brown - they looked "cooked". and yet the middle is still pretty pink. is this considered "done"?

/ck/ I'm trying to make baked mac and cheese, and the recipe I grabbed up says to add paprika and mustard powder to the cheese mix while the pasta is cooking.


Other recipes don't mention this at all and I'm guessing it's opinion based. What do you guys figure? Do you think paprika and mustard is fine for a cheese sauce for mac'n'chese?

Oh, I also heat up butter on a small skillet and throw minced garlic for like 30 seconds and toast breadcrumbs in that. It comes out super good, you should try.

I've recently been given a ton of habanero and jalapeno peppers. I want to make something that uses a lot of them. I know I could just google around for salsa recipes but I was wondering if any of you had some killer recipes you think I should try.
I also kind of want to try pickling some but I've never done that before

You could jerk something with them, or make vindaloo. To jerk puree with:

Scallions
Red onion
Garlic
Vegetable oil
Lime juice
Fresh thyme
Allspice
Nutmeg
Cumin
Coriander
Cayenne
Rum (if desired)

Marinate meat in puree overnight, roast at like 475 or grill as desired.

Vindaloo is a lil more complex you can figure that one out yrself.
