What is /ck/ making for dinner?
I'm having pulled pork, have had this shoulder cooking in the oven for almost 10 hours. Doesn't look too appetizing in this pic I guess but it's my first time really "cooking" anything
broccoli and beef over white rice
I'm tryna cut calories so it's a small portions for me
red beans and rice.
carmalized onions, cyanne peppers, green peppers. spiced with garlic powder and peprika.
rice is jasmine with soy sauce, sesame seed oil, and some lightly salted seaweed to added flavor (all in the rice cooker)

That looks gross
Do Americans actually eat that shit?
What the fuck is this thing and how do I cook it? My mom bought this at a farmers market but doesn't know the name. It looks like a Pokemon and my guess is it's some type of gorde.
Looks like a pumpkin. Cut open, collect flesh, make into soup?
>>8072817
Never seen a pumpkin that looks like this but soup is a good idea
>>8072826
Hm, indeed. It does look like a gourd, are you sure it's meant to be eaten? Some of those are ornamental and have very little flesh.
I was making gravy and now i have this
>>8072792
What the hell
If that's all roux, just keep adding more liquid bit by bit and stirring. You're going to have a ton of gravy by the end of it.
Well I gave up half way and made gravy paste
Alright /ck/, this'll be my first cooking post.
I consider myself an intermediate cook, but I'm trying to get into plating as well.
Please feel free to comment, criticise and shitpost.
Today's meals: Baked Hogfish and Spiny Lobster served with a cheap pinot grig.
>>8072691
First step was preparing the 'marinade' .
I generally soak less fresh or previously frozen fish for a few hours in milk, but the filets were purchased that day and brought to me as a gift from the fisheries in Key Largo.
This soak is a combination of OatMilk nonsweet, pepper, paprika, fresh lemon juice and a bunch of fresh dill.
>>8072712
The initial mess, oven set to 350, baked for 12 minutes.
>>8072723
This is my portion of the meal, I am personally allergic to snapper fishes and so the filets were cooked for my gf.
The lobster was seasoned with garlic, some dill and a healthy spread of butter.
Also at 350 but for 17 minutes, only because I dont like the softer texture of lobster and prefer it well done.
How is this not a pizza?
Earlier I was mocked by a minimum wage snot nose zit faced greasy high schooler at my local pizza place for demanding a grilled cheese (pizza)
Also PSA to all ingrates who have nothing better to do than prepare shitty fast food for their betters: I know the manager is there, even if you say he's "out"
A grilled cheese sounds pretty good right now
I like to put sliced turkey in mine
because pizza is not grilled you fucking nigger
>>8072634
>hes never had a grilled pizza
So what's your oppinion kn waterproof apples
>>8072614
I've preordered mine!
I'm so glad that Tesco™ invented the water proof apple™, I don't know how we could bob for apples without them!
Prevents it from watering down the apple flavour. Good buy imo.

>Fresh mozz, basil, tomatoes
>Grilled chicken, pineapple, jalepenos
>Eggplant, spinach, xtra cheese
>Onions, pepperoni, sausage
I'm very partial to this combo:
Anchovies, Garlic, Pepperoni, Extra Jalapenos.
It's salty, spicy and savory. Pairs godtier with most beer.
>>8072206
Black olives, anchovies, and fresh tomato slices.
My girlfriend said that I should boil my ribs before grilling them
Is this bullshit /ck/?
Is there another way to make them "fall off the bone" good that may be superior?
I usually just do a dry rub then grill the damn things, I think the fall off the bone bit is a meme created by chili's, but the wife wants the ribs that way so I want to do them her way the best I can
just boil a half rack in front of her and prepare the rest like normal. Serve her the normal ones without her knowing a eat the boiled ones on a lazy Sunday or something.
>>8072154
Nah man that's stupid
Does your wife know about your girlfriend?
Cooking spaghetti for the first time. Im a noob. Any tips?
Pre-packaged and canned or actually making noodles and sauce?
>>8072121
>put salt into the water only when it starts to boil
>stir pasta from time to time as it cooks
>a lot of garlic is good
>add basil, oregano etc to the sauce in the middle of cooking, not to early, not to late
>garlic goes before them
>spaghetti should be a little bit hard
>you can check how hard it is by taking a bit on the fork and putting under cold water from the tap
>it's really easy, hf
>>8072121
Have your sauce ready before the noodles and mix the noodles and sauce directly after you have drained them
Don't put oil in the water
Your pasta water should taste like the ocean (SALT THAT SHIT MY NIGGA)
Noodles keep cooking after you drain them so pull them out a little early
Shit is easy, but hard to do right.
