how do i into ramen?
instant ramen tastes like cancer, proper ramen broth takes forever to make, is there a middleground?
noodle based cuisine thread i guess

Use a broth and water mix to boil or microwave your your ramen. Hot oil on a frying pan at medium heat will cook almost any vegetable and thin meat in the world within the matter of time it takes for you to cook the ramen. And if you can boil water, poach an egg inside the shell, good stuff.
I don't go for the chive meme, and too many spices can sink to the bottom of your ramen, almost pointless. You can cook the ramen without even using heat - just leave it in water for about an hour or so. Soy/Teriyaki sauce is an absolute must. I love adding sriracha to my noodles, or any hot sauce really. I do NOT recommend adding scrambled eggs to your ramen, or any smaller bits of food that will get soggy and flood your dish. The first bowl of ramen I ever had a friend made for me and the ramen was crushed into small pieces to fit into a bowl. The ramen that comes int he plastic bowls are the best, the quality is actually worth the money in my experience personally, next you've got your little bags like pic related, and the cardboard/paper bowls are the fucking worst. Fuck those little dried veggies and meat packets. You can also turn your ramen into macaroni with some cheese and milk.

And you gone want your basic weeaboo noodles, I've read there are seven.
>Soba
>Udon
>Ramen
>Cellophane
>Rice noodles
>Lo Mein
I'm sure debates lie within whether or not some or all of these mentioned are Asian noodles with Asian roots, and by Asian I of course mean Southeast Asian, and of course there are hundreds of other types of noodles around the world. In one of those cooking along threads somewhere around here someone made home made noodles. Which seems like an awesome thing to do. The technique is something like creating a volcanic mold of flour and salt with egg yolks in the middle or something. Check it out sometime OP.
Which milk is best milk and why is it 2% milk?
>>8131891
strawberry milk is best milk
>>8131891
1% chocolate milk is GOAT
>>8131891
I feel like any higher and it's too thick, any lower and it's flavored water. 2% is my choice as well.
Who here is /eatingdisordered/? I like to come here and look at all the foods instead of bingeing but it doesn't always work. Today I have eaten a tub of yoghurt and half a can of chicken.
>>8131873
>can of chicken
sure it wasn't tunafish?
Not eating disorder, but I'm on a 3 day water fast and I'm not sure if coming here is a good idea. I can't help it. I want food so bad.
>>8131892
>Not eating disorder
>3 day water fast
If you are fasting you have an eating disorder, fasting is not good for anyone.
What's the greasiest food dish, /ck/?

Everyone had a favorite Happy Meal at McDonalds, what is yours? For me it was this 1996 Beast Wars Happy Meal, the lady one featured Littlest Pet Shop which was quite nice as well
I had a cheeseburger with fries and cola with ice each time, it was my favorite Happy Meal
we were poor and ate stew.
it wasn't a happy meal.
>>8131786
i always had a big mac.
>>8131786
Just a 6 piece nugget kids meal with medium fries and a medium drink. Remember those handheld games, hot wheels, neopets, and stretch screamers toys? T
how do you bake potatoes well so that you can still cook them fully to the center, while not burning the surface? pic related i just made these and some are still a bit semi soft/mushy in the core. is that just the way it is?
>>8131681
Baked potatoes are supposed to be soft. What do you think they are supposed to be like?
>>8131681
Parcook them in water.
>tfw /fit/
What are some nice but healthy snacks I can make to eat while witnessing the best debate in history?
>>8131581
whey protein powder
watery vegetables
just watch your macros and you can tuck some hummus, nuts, or peanut butter in there and no one will be the wiser
I've been lurking /ck/ for about three weeks, and sadly it doesn't seem like /fit/ and /ck/ merges too well.
If any of you co/ck/s think otherwise, please speak up. I'd love for us to be a big happy family :*

Anyone known anything about this? Nutritional value? Taste?
>>8131276
>Anyone known anything about this?
Bulletproof coffee? It's been a thing for a couple years at least.
>Nutritional value?
Dunno. Seems trivially easy to look up though. A cup of coffee + a Tb of butter.
>>Taste?
I have no idea, I don't drink coffee. But if I was curious I'd make a cup and try it.
>>8131276
I never heard of butter in coffee.
Does it call for salted or unsalted or does it really not make a difference. This is the first I've heard of this concoction. Is the idea for it to replace half n half?
>>8131340
Unsalted.
Is bread a good source of any important nutrients or is it just filler food?
Whole grain bread is healthy
It's more nutritious than rice. More protein too.
Most bread (and flour) sold in the US is fortified and enriched with important nutrients that many people don't get enough of otherwise, so yes.

Which do you prefer for breakfast?
Oats have more protein and fiber per serving, but there's just something about some creamy grits with butter and honey that makes me look forward to getting up in the morning.
>>8131109
I like my shrimp and grits, mmhmm
For breakfast:
1. grits, specifically with sausage gravy or cheese
2. farina, lightly sweetened
3. steel cut oats, sometimes made using the overnight method
4. rolled oats
are there even any popular ways to make sweet grits?
I've never seen grits sold around here.
I usually have oatmeal, but sometimes I pick up cream of wheat, or some other hot cereal for a change. Bob's Red Mill makes lots of neat multi grain cereals (corn, rice, barley, millet, etc).
If I feel like wasting money, I'll get some fancy flavoured instant oats.
What does /ck/ eat when they're sick?
I'm sick as fuck and have no appetite and am getting super weak/dehydrated. I'm hoping maybe you guys could give me an idea of something to eat that actually sounds good seeing as all I've ingested is water and tea.
>>8130947
when im sick i usually dont have the nerve to cook soup or anything, i just drink tea and make some scambled eggs on toast if i get hungry.
>>8130947
mac n cheese
olive oil sausages
kebab
If you have some handmade jelly from whatever sour fruit, mix it with water and drink that a lot. What's how I roll. Sugars + vitamins + hydration
