What are some varying versions of Pemmican? I was watching someone on youtube make it, and he mentioned that if you mix dried berries in it, it's shelf life wouldn't be as long.
So, what are some versions that are close to nutritionally complete and don't have berries? Or, how long do the berries actually cut the shelf life, assuming it's stored properly.

Rendered Fat + Dried Meat Powder + Vitamin Powder. It just werkz.
>>8197838
Native americans always mixed berries and minced game, often bison. But they also mixed a lot of tallow and fat which helped preserve it. Doubt you'll be able to stomach it. Just make beef or venison jerky and call it a day.

Kind of beers you having?
I've realized most of the food I actually end up cooking involves me throwing some stuff into a frying pan and ignoring it for ten minutes (fried potatoes, eggs, toasted sandwiches + fried meat, etc)
What are some good things to make that basically involve just throwing stuff in a pan?
Stews, casseroles, anything labelled as a one pot meal.
>>8197768
Yes, such as?
>>8197761
You ignore eggs for 10 minutes?

No you can't bitch, that looks disgusting
Is the person you are talking to here, or did you just come to 4chan to deliver your criticism since it wasn't enough to say in your head?

I have low self esteem and crave validation for every thought that enters my head
Just because it's disgusting doesn't mean she didn't cook it. Technically she can cook.
Was in Wisconsin visiting some friends and they took me to their favorite Chinese restaurant, and my friends asked for both menus, one just for non Asians and one for Asians, and I was surprised by this
Does your favorite Chinese restaurant or any ethnic restaurant
have two different menus? One for the people who aren't that ethnic group and one for those who are?
say what?
This is every serious Chinese restaurant in the US anon. Americans won't eat Chinese food that isn't americanized. On the coasts there are enough Asian immigrants to support legit Chinese food but fuggedaboutit in flyover.

Noticed this interview recently while I was out and about, it goes into it a little.
We kind of have this in Canada at chinese/asian places. But its all on one menu, and the non asian food is called "kids section" (hamburgers, fries, chicken nuggets, etc). Most places do have a few things like chicken balls and egg fu yung though.
What do you do with bacon grease?
I'm living off bacon and eggs the next few weeks, because it's cheap as fuck here, and I want to increase the fat and protein and lower carb intake. I've got a ton of bacon fat now. What are some tasty things to do with it?
>>8197560
You can put bacon grease in your eggs to make it taste like bacon
Also, you can put bacon grease on your bacon to make it taste like bacon
>>8197576
What about when I'm not on bacon and eggs? My finances improve next month, and I can start eating other things.
>>8197560
First thing that comes to my mind is liver and onions. Any good liver and onions starts with bacon grease.
Most things you would cook in a skillet can be cooked with bacon fat instead of butter or oil. Try grilled cheese this way it's unbelievable
I need some advice. I made macaroni and cheese, but wanted to spice it up so I put some caribbean jerk in it. I put way too much in, and so I threw some iced coffee in it to calm it down. But I forgot I had grain alcohol in my coffee and that just made it worse. So I googled ways to make food less spicy and someone on a forum said ketchup helps. So now I have barbecue sauce and ketchup in it. It's just Kraft mac and cheese, so it wasn't great to begin with. I had three bites, my stomach hurts and the taste of it made me wince. Is there any way to salvage my food?
>>8197490
Just throw it out and eat something else, also what made you think that adding coffee was a good idea?
>>8197500
I asked someone on Omegle and mentioned that I was drinking iced coffee. The stranger told me coffee helps with spicy food and recommended that I put it in the mac and cheese.

Consider the demographic that uses 4chan and that shouldn't be a surprise.
so guys let share our finest bbq ribs recipe before winter. what rub do you use ? sauce ? mustard? smoke ? which wood?
I make my own bbq rubs with paprika, brown sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, cumin
then I cover with mustard and smoke in weber for 6 hours at 200F. I mostly use Hickory
>>8197154
I like to keep my rub simple but my sauce has a lot of spices. Rub: Light coating of mustard, kosher salt, brown sugar, paprika, cayenne pepper. Refrigerator 12-24 hours.
Smoker at 225F. Apply smoke for first 3 hours. After 3 hours baste with apple cider vinegar and apple juice blend every 1/2 hour. Apply sauce last 1/2 hour.
I experiment with combination of fruit woods like apple, cherry and pear. Hickory and oak sometimes. For some reason, I've been on a pecan kick lately.
>>8197315
I tried with apple and pear wood this fall, cause it's the season you now. And imo apple, pear and pork works pretty well togheter.
you guys use pan filled with water in the smoker, to avoid your ribs to get too dry?
