Can we get a food art thread going?
I don't see the art. Only murder.
Has anyone ever actually gotten salmonella from eating cookie dough?
Pretty sure the whole thing is the biggest urban myth ever.
http://abcnews.go.com/US/eating-raw-cookie-dough-led-moms-death-son/story?id=26896037
It's rare but it happens.
>>8207105
real danger is ecoli from the raw flour
>>8207105
>has anyone ever actually gotten salmonella from eating a raw egg?
Yes, you unutterably stupid imbecile. Try it, you'll it.
What would happen if I just stuck an egg, shell and all, into the oven?
You'd have an egg in an oven?
i've done it.
it didn't explode. it came out identical to a hard-boiled egg.
>>8207100
Is the oven on?
S'up /ck/?
What's for dinner?
Pic related.
>>8207070
Dont know yet. I'll probably hit the store in a little bit. Fajitas sound nice but I usually marinate them so that isnt an option. Any suggestions?
Also, anyone know if eggnog is in stores yet?
>>8207088
sure is
>>8207092
Fuck yeah, I'm outta here
What am I in for?
A strong desire to grow a beard and purchase plaid shirts.
>>8207031
You need to get them second-hand from the thrift store. Drink more microbrews
>>8207030
Be sure to drink out of mason jars. Ironically.
What do you put in your fried rice, /ck/? I put brown rice, pork, soy sauce, fish sauce, garlic, ginger, MSG, peas, carrots, green onion, eggs, butter and sesame oil in pic related. It turned out delicious.
>>8206958
I'd add white pepper, oyster sauce and swap pork for chicken and maybe prawns
>>8206958
Egg onion carrots chicken oyster sauce msg soy sauce rice
>>8206981
Shit garlic and ginger also
i accidentally made my sauce in an aluminum pot
i can cover up the taste with hotsauce pretty well of course, but will i die if i eat this whole pot in the next week?
>>8206938
Anodized aluminum is non reactive. Unless you bought your pot in the 1960s or from China, you're fine. The taste is likely in your head, placebo effect.
>>8206943
assume this shit is from china and not anodized, what should i do?
>>8206951
Do you see any pitting in the pan? If yes, toss, if no, it is anodized and you are fine.
How " traditional" is cookingwithdog's recipes?
>>8206898
I've tried their karaage recipe a few weeks back. Breddy gud tbqh.
I dont know but I love her recipe with curry (the one that includes jelly)
I think her show is adorable so I try out a few things here and there
From what I see though much of it is sort of like western alternatives for japanese food
A lot of ingredients or tools they use to cook cannot be found in the west and that is where these recipes come from
>dog isn't being cooked
not very tradition tbqh
Ever meet that person whos like OMG RAMEN NOODLES ARE THE MOST ORGASMIC FOOD EVER and they make like a giant pot and devour it all and I'm like wtf its just some salty soup lol
No.
>>8206887
Ramen is basically chicken stock with spaghetti floating in it, how does anyone eat that garbage.
>>8206892
It's ok if you need a hot meal but are broke or lazy but idk why people go so nuts for this stuff
I can handle hard cheeses pretty well and always go for white cheddar but notice sometimes when I get aged cheddar colored with annatto I think it bloats me up. Is this a normal thing?
What will food be like in the next 50 years, /ck/?
Will it change drastically or stay more or less the same?
>>8206794
Food has changed drastically in the last 50 years, and I have no reason to suspect history won't repeat itself. Climate change is going to have some big changes on agriculture, and, unless I'm mistaken, the oceans won't be able to sustain fishing for much longer either.
When the ocean levels levels rise, huge populations will be displaced and everything will go to total shit. I imagine mass starvation for the third world, some starvation for the first world, but also lots of meal replacements and vitamins when agriculture is dead. And think of how far our food travels, especially for Americans. That's really going to be hard to do without fossil fuels.
It gives me a weird nerdy boner to think that in the far future humans will be forced to revert into hunting/ gathering and small scale agriculture and yet they will be surrounded by all of these artifacts of our decadence and they will sit around fires and tell stories and myths about the old times. idfk.
Food will be in pill form. and pills will be in food form. +10 goodboy points if you guess the correct refrence.
>>8206849
Plus side, you're completely wrong.
Why do we have canned food drives for poorfags if canned so has so much salt it kills all the poorfags?
>>8206684
to kill all the poorfags
>>8206684
Go Giants
>>8206684
does it? what kind of canned food r u talking about?
Can you make a tasty pie without any added sugar or sweetener outside of the fruit?
No.
>>8206642
Is there some reason you can't add a sweetener?
>>8206642
It depends on what kind of fruit you're talking about. It is entirely feasible to make a sugar-free apple pie, I've done it, it's good. But don't fucking make a wheat crust, that's just wrong.
I'm not a southern fag so this ice cream isn't sold where I live. How good is this shit? Is it better than Ben and Jerrys?
>>8206461
worth the salmonella
Guess you'll never know, yankee boy! Enjoy your sheckelberg and Goldstein kosherkream hyuk hyuk hyuk
