Chugging the sake I got for my birthday yesterday from my sister. Opened it half an hour ago, should be gone in another 15. Then the vodka.
>tfw too much of a pussy to kill myself
Drinking Devil's Cut and preparing to watch the Lord of the Rings on network tv despite having it sitting on a bookshelf 15 feet away.

sounds pretty comfy
Didn't see one so I decided to start one
What are you drinking? What are you looking forward to? Post anything beer related
Pic related is what I am drinking right now
Still have a couple of these left from when I went to Belgium.
The abbey was in the middle of fucking nowhere and the cafe was still absolutely packed.

Just had the coffee stout from my local brewery last night. It's one of my favorites but it's been on randomly ever since they've started trying to distribute kegs.
Today I'll be going to a brewer's guild beer fest. Shit's gonna be great, seeing as I have a bunch of left over tokens from the last one I went to.
A classic for me, La Chouffe
Post the shittiest foods you have saved. Dumping what I got
come on guys dont leave me hangin
/tea/ general, old one is almost at bump limit

I put the sites the previous OP put in and a few more blogs, If there are objections state them.
What is in your cup today?
Finishing off a packet of Yame Green today, somewhere between a gyokuro and a sencha, reminds me of a freshly cut lawn.
It's a long time until next spring.
I got some Clipper tea and was surprised by how mild it is. Normally one bag of Lyons turns the water a deep dark brown but I could barely taste the Clipper when I added milk.
I live in mainland Europe for now so I can't get Lyons, mainly hippie brands (Pukka, Clipper) and that Lipton, Teekanne, Nordqvist etc rubbish. Any good Euro brands I could look into? I like my tea bagged and with a string.
Or do you guys mostly talk about chink teas?
>>8200479
waiting for my yuuki cha order with a couple green teas. Might finally get a nice little kyusu soon
Where do you get the best burger?
My vote: Company Burger, New Orleans.
for me, it's the big mac at mcdonalds
>served in a baking tray
Why the fuck do restaurants do bullshit like this these days? It's ugly and uninspired.
I'll tell you one place that I will never step in, "Larkburger" based out of the limp-wristed hippy trustfund mecca, Boulder, Colorado.
Post your favorite kitchen tool that you wouldn't find in every kitchen. Pic related is mine, I use it mainly for checking oil/pan temp before putting steaks down, for example. Saves you from soggy crust if you're frying anything breaded
>>8228067
yeah I use my temp guns all the time for all sorts of things. they're very handy.
gonna add cheap bamboo skewers as a good thing to have around
>>8228105
agreed, I use these for sewing together chicken breast for cordon bleu whenever that's the dish of the evening
Soylent halts sales of its powder as customers keep getting sick
>Liquid meal maker Soylent is stopping sales of its flagship powder, warning that a handful of customers reported stomach sickness after consuming it.

It's more like uncontrollable vomiting. They're playing it down
Anyone who reads the Soylent ingredient list and thinks, "This sounds like a healthy thing to eat every day" completely deserves what they get.
Just looked up soylent, doesn't really seem like a good deal monetarily. Is this just for fatties with no self control trying to lose weight by surrendering to a product?
Bear in mind this can be broken down into different countries of UK: Scotland, Norrthern Ireland, England and Wales:
Explain to me exactly why British food is the best in the world. Wonderful variety. Four countries.
Comfy soups and stews. - who needs heating when you can have soup - soup will penetrate the coldest of hearts. My favourite soup is chicken and mushroom.
Amazing cheeses. At least as good as the French.
Just the absolute best variety of bread. The variety is staggering. I got four different breads from the baker this morning.
No one can make as good a roast dinner as a British mother or grandmother.
Best drink (tea) Loads of varieties. Earl Grey to Assam to English breakfast tea.
Lancashire hot pot, Yorkshire pudding, toad in the hole, cooked breakfasts, best fish, and shellfish (surrounded by sea), pan haggerty (look it up), black pudding (the Spanish can do this well enough - morcilla; hynnnnnggg). Bubble and squeak, bacon liver and onion gravy with mash, beef wellington, fish and chips with mushy peas, kedgeree (half Brit Indian from the Empire) - rice, smoked fish, curry spices, eggs, chopped herbs - best breakfast EVER.
Offal. We bongs love the bits no one else loves. Liver, kidney, sweetbreads (pancreas), ox tail. bone marrow, lungs. - see haggis for info. Delicious. We had pig trotters when I was a lad.
Tasty. Shellfish - all of it. Razor clams, mussels, clams, whelks, cockles- we'll eat the lot. Some London cunts won't, though.

let me bump this for you :)

>British food
So curry and kebabs?
>>8223502
it's just a preposterous thread. there is no way a country that puts bread inside of bread and calls it a sandwich has the best food in any category
i'm not even saying it's bad. it's just not even close to the best
So I'm starting a wine general, but I also don't know shit about wine. It's something I'm interested in getting into.
A few preliminary questions:
-What's the cheapest wine still worth buying?
-There are no Wineshops within an hour of me. What are some wines I can acquire easily that are worth trying?
-Why do people act like I'm a bitch because so far I've only really liked white wines?
trust me mate, I've tried this on numerous occasions, this is not the place to do this. It just doesn't work.
Fuck everyone who rousts you about red vs. white. All wine is good.
>>8223783
to be honest it is something that develops over time, unfortunately you just have to try your way through, when you like a wine take note of what grape and maybe what rough area, this is a process that takes time and will lead you to understand what you like in the end. its no science and it should be about fun times
>>8223783
>Why do people act like I'm a bitch because so far I've only really liked white wines?
Because they are fucktards. Most people when they begin to try Wine tend to gravitate towards Whites mainly due to the higher Sugar content and fruit profiles of the varieties. That being said, there are a hell of a lot of great long lived White Wines.
Try some White Burgundy's, Chablis, White Bordeaux's, Hunter Valley Semillon, Clare Valley and Mosel Riesling's, California Chardy and so on...there are so many great wines out there.
Is stainless steel the best cookware? Not as heavy as cast iron and can cook tomato based dishes. Not has expensive as copper. Not cancer causing like nonstick.
something to do with dissolving metals into food is what makes it bad.
>>8221472
I think, you're talking about cast iron, m8. Stainless is nonreactive, unless you put hydrochloric acid in it and let it sit.
>>8221469
Depends on what you mean by the "best". Copper is objectively the best for cooking, probably followed by aluminum. Pure stainless is pretty shit.
What really will help your decision on buying would be the other factors, such as durability, convenience of use, and cost/brand.
Do you ever go to the grocery store and judge the shit out of people, solely based on the foods they buy?
yeah but then i look into my own cart and see a 30 rack of beer, some tendies, milk/eggs/bread, and not a single fruit or veggie
and i realize they're probably judging me just as hard
>>8216881
every time i'm in line

Never used to, then I went vegan. I'll see some almond milk, get excited thinking maybe they're vegan too, then I see them place some raw chicken flesh on the conveyor belt and I just look away, heartbroken. Also grossed out at the thought that animal flesh has touched the same conveyor belt my food is on because I have a serious phobia of animal products.
hey /ck/, whats your favourite food texture?
the chewy sort of pasty bubble texture of cereals like steel cut oats or barley
crunchy sear on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside
That's a good question, OP!
Let me think.. hmm.. Soft serve ice cream maybe. Or maybe these divinity candy things; they're super light and airy and kinda dissolve in your mouth.
Crispy beer battered fried fish too.
I don't have a Chick-Fil-A near me. Is it really that good?
Yes, but to each their own, honestly.
I prefer it over any other chicken sandwich on the market.
>>8227540
I tried it once and wasn't particularly impressed. I'm not sure what the excitement is about.
Overrated shit uncultured whitebread southerner meme.
Post what you're making for dinner tonight- I'm making a Thunderloaf
Angry meatloaf?
>>8225083
