Why is every sugar free alternative always so sweet?
I wouldn't mind them if it was more plain instead of hitting me with a shit ton of fake sweetness flavor
>>8384217
why not just cut it out entirely.
added sugars are the devil, try self control instead.
or use honey
>>8384219
I tried cum but only a little bit comes out and then I have to wait for hours for more
>>8384217
It's chemistry for you... Different substances have different sweetness and taste.
I bought stuff to make potato soup, but I don't have a good recipe. I figure I can make a roux and then add chicken broth and cream and milk, but I don't know how much of each to use.
please respond
>>8384093
boil the potaties until very tender, then rinse in cold water to clear off the starch.
bring your stock or broth to a simmer and add any other ingredients, such as leeks, onions, garlic, thyme, rosemary or peas, and then add potatoes until you have enough in the pot
bring to a boil and mash/stir/pulverize the potaties until creamy then let it cook for 20-30 minutes. finish with heavy cream, do not let it boil after adding the cream. season to taste
>>8384108
so the soup should be mostly stock? I don't have a food mill or anything to puree the potatos so I don't think I can make it thicker that way.
>>8384093
When I do it I just make a roux then add milk to thicken; eyeball it and remember you can always add more. Adding broth or cream is up to you, I personally always use milk. Broth has different/more flavour, cream has more fat.
Some people like using bacon fat for the fat in the roux. 1tbsp to 1tbsp should be good.
I'd also undercook some of your potatoes so that they don't break down as much, and add your potatoes in batches. The cooked/overcooked potatoes will break down and help thicken.
Don't forget the cayenne and greens. Cheddar cheese and parmesan are two good ones, I like gouda too.

Im craving some sweet/gummy candy.
Im in New England, Connecticut to be exact.

Name a better dipping sauce for fries than remulade. I'll wait.
>>8383972
That looks like your mother's vaginal discharge
>>8383972
Mayonnaise, I've seen people drown'em in that shit.
What is it exactly that makes remulade different from horseradish mayo? I bought some after I saw some old creole fucker put it on a crayfish po' boy but now I don't even know why I keep it in my fridge.
How do you guys improve your frozen pizzas? I add a bit of piri piri seasoning to give it an extra kick.
Add black olives, anchovies, and some fresh tomato slices.
>>8383438
A dose of oregano helps.
>>8383438
Post what that looks like.
never had bojangle's before and I'm about to try it.
what are the best menu items?
Chicken biscuit and fries. Beans and rice are nice too if you don't like fries, but they are some of the best fries ever.
is the mac n cheese good?
For me, it's the McChicken, the best fast food sandwich.
>popcorn
How do I make it taste like that greasy movie theater kind at home?
Buy a popcorn machine
Use that fake ass butter they use.
buy "flavacol", coconut oil that is orange and butter flavored to pop it in and kernels. Put 3 tablespoons orange dyed coconut oil in pan, add 1/3 cup kernels, 1 teaspoon flavacol. Turn heat on medium and start spinning the pans handle to mix it all up. It pops, you eat.
Why in the fuck does everyone claim McDonald's has the best fries? Literally everyone else has better fries. Did everyone elses used to suck or is this a shit tier meme that never went away? Also ITT: Best fries store bought and fast food.
Cavendish for store and fatburger fast food for me.
they're really good with McDonald's mayo
For me the best fast food fries are Freddie's
>>8383026
They are good if they are fresh. The worst thing about McDonald's is that their burgers are also luke warm. So I eat the burger 1st because It cost the most. Then unless I eat like a fat cunt the fries have gone to shit.
Now I just eat in, order a burger and drink. Then once I've finished go and order fries.
Who has the most difficult food to make?
My vote goes to the Chinese. I recently watched a chef use a wok and he was tossing food and using his knee to adjust the gas.
>>8383000
>Shitty cooking station and methods
>Difficult food
Nah.
Making is one thing, mastering the other. The basics of chinese food are easy to learn, but the use of spice makes it hard to get right.
Traditional western European cooking has a lot of combinations of sauces and more herbs, what makes it a totally different field.
Your thread pokes a hard question, and I think it is hard to answer this correctly.

glorious nippon
how much chicken stock is that?
Enough.
too much
Looks like a pint
Morning, faggots. What's for breakfast? For me, it's these babies.
Oats and squats.

ITT: Times where candy companies fucked you over
I stumbled across these fucking candy bars last year, and found out that they were delicious. My old go to chocolate bar was the hershey's white chocolate bar, and this knocks it way out of the park.
Fast forward to now, I'm fat as fuck for some fucking reason. I have NOT changed my diet. And I used to have a couple of fucking hershey's bars a week, AND NEVER GOT FAT. Yet NOW i switch to a new fucking candy bar and suddenly I blow up like a fucking balloon. Thinking about suing, but I have no money so I doubt that I'll get anything from the assholes who make this shit.
TL;DR post times where seemingly innocent, good tasting food has fucked you over.
>>8382610
Quest isn't a candy bar, it's a protein bar
second, how the hell do people enjoy those things?! They're hard as a rock when you get them
>>8382610
I like eating those, too.
I don't like the "curry spice" they sell at the grocery store. Give me some suggestions on creating my own spice blend for when I make curry.
Salt and pepper. Just be careful with the pepper.
Mine's usually just coriander, tumeric, cumin, and chilis (I'm usually making a paste so I use fresh, but if you literally just want a spice, you could use powdered). Sometimes ginger.
>>8382697
Those 4, but also ginger and garlic. If I want more Thai style I substitute galangal for ginger and add lemongrass, coriander root and lime zest, too. Important: I use fresh turmeric, not dried.
Please give your tips as well.
My methods are unorthodox but hear me out. Depending on your schedule if its doable get a job as a dishwasher pt. Eat free and also steal anything that isnt nailed down.small time. Food. Silverware. kitchen utensils. Also dumpster dive. Free download of a book is online you should read. The art and science of dumpster diving. Check it out. Also go to churchs and food banks. Why pay any money for food if you dont have to
>>8382557
I've done some dumpster diving as a hobby, not out of necessity, and it's amazing how much excellent food you can find. Fresh vegetables, canned goods, day old bread, even meat that was one day past expiration. Also, you'll routinely find pawnable items. Yeah, you can live pretty well out of dumpsters if you're smart about it.
get a job and don't worry about it because you don't have to

How do I make brown sauce from scratch out of a simple turkey breast? My mom always made it but I can't ask her because she died half a year ago.
>>8382556
>My mom always made it but I can't ask her because she died half a year ago.
That's no excuse.
Are you cooking the turkey in an oven? If so, get a frying pan on medium heat, melt some butter, add flour, sautee butter-flour mix until golden brown. Add turkey drippings and/or broth. If you're doing potatoes with the turkey, some of the potato water would be beneficial as well. Reduce over medium-high heat until thickened, stirring consistently.
>>8382584
thanks for your answer. I'm cooking the turkey breasts in a pan but your answer will come in handy sooner or later.
