How do I get into wine?
I recently had some red wine for the first time and I liked it a lot. I never buy wine though because there are just too many to chose from and I dont know which of them is good. None of my friends/family drink wine so I figured /ck/ was my only hope.
Pop corks, take notes.
You can look at wine aroma/taste wheels if you need common descriptors -- but if a wine reminds of you Lucky Charms, then that's better than getting the hints of earth and plum.
Getting started is easier if you're near a decent wine shop. Have them assemble an affordable mixed case of bottles, then have a blast drinking them w/ food, w/ friends, solo with a movie.
When you're done, take your notes back to the shop - see what you liked/didn't - and you're on your way to developing a palate.
Your local shop will be a lot better with actual wines available in your region/pricepoint than dudes on the internet.

I drank wines for many years mostly red, various grapes types, various price range and finally stopped.
Wines are hard on the liver and I got bored with the buzz they give.
Red wines will make you sleepy and tired, whites not so much, white wine gives more clearer buzz.
Red wines will make your teeth dark.
Of course more expensive better wines will have more complex taste but after 3 glasses you will not notice that that much.
Overall waste of money if you drink wine by it self just to get the buzz.
To have glass or two with food if is well paired with food could be rewarding I guess.
Again, reds will make you tired and sleepy give headache and darken your teeth, whites not but whit wines have more sugars in them.
Also remember wines have quite hight level of calories so you might gain weight and your liver will suffer more from wines than from drinking harder liquors like vodka scotch brandy rum, but all alcohol damages liver if over consumed.
Another thing in wines is the Sulphur dioxide (a sulphite) that is added as a preservative, some people have allergies to it.
Home made wines could be made without them but those wines will not age long (maybe max 1 year in cooler storage room).
Overall wines become boring for me to drink.
What does ck think of the humble mcfish?
for me, the mcchicken...
mcdonalds best sandwich by far imo, memes aside
>>8385036
Never tried it, but I've heard it's actually pretty good. Might give it a shot next time I'm at McDick's.
Itt stupid cooking habits your family has
>mommy only grates the outside of her nutmeg then throws the rest of the nut away
>ask her why, she tells me "that's where most the flavor is"
>I say that it's even throughout the nut and you don't need to waste such expensive spices
>"well fine Mr chef, you are the pro after all!"
is nutmeg a real thing? i thought it was just a meme

My mom beats the shit out of knives and doesn't give a single fuck. Like she'll wail on food like she is mad at the world and then bitch two days later that she can't cut a lemon. YEAH BECAUSE YOU DON'T SHARPEN YOUR SHIT.
Drives me up the wall when I go over her place.

Fuck yourself
List of top 40 sandwhiches. This is an objectively correct list
Also has anyone tried a bocodillo? Sounds interesting

For me it is the McChicken, the best fast food sandwich.
This better not be in order. Reuben at #17 is the least close thing from objective.
What's the deal with airline food?
No, seriously, I've never traveled by plane. What exactly is wrong with it?
>>8381074
depends on the airline and what class you are flying in. if you aren't a picky eater some of it's not to bad. also the flight length makes a dif. if you are taking a 2 hr hope, all you will get is a can of coke and some pretzels. flying across the Pacific/Atlantic? you might get two meal choices for dinner.
>>8381074
The pressurized cabin reduces your ability to taste. That coupled with the airline wanting cheap, inoffensive food that will satisfy the most people for the least money means everything is really bland.

here, enjoy http://www.airlinemeals.net/
Post real mexican foods here now please.

Here you go, goat stew.
Traditional mexican dish. Also delicious.
>>8365943
I live in a bad part of town and all of the mexican restaurants have this on their menu, displayed like it's some kind of birthday cake
I went to Mexico recently and pretty much all mexican dishes were different tortillas or chips with a bunch of meats and cheese on them and some sauce. Except for lime soup, that shit was delicious.
>already own a slow cooker
>could pick this up for fifty leafs at Amazon instead of buying a five hundred leaf sous vide cooker
>don't even need to DIY hack a box or outlet for the slow cooker
Should I do this? And how much will I need to get a vacuum sealer? Can I do sous vide with just a regular air tight bag?
No one bumps like Gaston
>>8390078
Sous vide machines circulate the water. You're going to get hot/cold spots. It's a lot more than just temperature control.

If I put a towel over the top, it might work out well. We are cooking over a long period of time, six or so hours.
Why do they never remember the fucking sauce?
>eating fast food
>being too fat to get out of your car to eat fast food
>passively aggressively whining about fast food drive through on the internet
Grow up.
>sorry. the ice cream machine is down...

I'm not eating inside one of these places you snobby faggot
I feel very full and bloated even after eating small portions, so it turns me off of eating until I'm absolutely starving.
I also digest extremely slowly. Any ideas what could cause something like that?
Not enough alcohol in your system. I'd recommend a nice mug vodka.
Lack or moral fortitude or crohn's disease.

You have a vagina where your dick should be
is it degenerate to drink the leftover coffee from this morning, cold, after work?
No, it's just disgusting
>>8389943
why?
how is it much different from iced or cold brew?
it is the duty of the selfless hero.
....or you can add cream & sugar, throw it in a blender with ice, and pose as a Starbucks customer.
Name a better pasta than Rigatoni.
>pro-tip: you can't
Firm. Hollow to hold sauces. Not too spongy, but soft enough to absorb flavors. Slides over forks perfectly. Can be baked or boiled and holds up.

McChicken
/thread
By your own criteria rota/rotelle are better but obviously the best pasta is spaghetti or MAYBE lasagna. To argue otherwise just makes you look like a tryhard.
I like penne.

>now for the sugar
>entire jug of sugar goes in
What's the point of THAT much sugar? You might as well drink the fucking sugar at that point since you're going to get diabetes the second you touch one of those fucking cookies
it's called not eating the entire tray of cookies by yourself in one sitting
>>8389352
I agree that much sugar wasn't necessary, I wouldn't have added the one cup of white sugar, but I kept waiting for an "entire jug" of sugar to come in and that didn't happen.
3 cups of sugar is not a completely crazy amount for cookies. They're sweets, they're supposed to have sugar. It's not like one person is supposed to eat all the cookies.
>>8389374
>it's not like one person is supposed to eat all the cookies
DELET THIS
What does "authentic" mean to you?
A word food snobs toss around like it means anything at all.
Not snitching, slanging rock, etc., etc
>>8389336
Nothing. Even people from the same region/country/city bicker about what is "authentic." It is subjective.
in your honest opinion what is the weirdest kind of food you feed your dog?
>>8389064
>tfw no dog
>>8389064
my dag likes yams, I put one in the oven, go throw a ball at him for an hour, come back and pull the yam out. Hes smart enough to not eat it while its hot but he eats the whole thing, skin and all.
Sometimes I eat one too, I put a bit of strubs horseradish in mine.
>>8389064
for me it would be the mcchicken

McChicken
faggotry
