no it means you didn't simmer it long enough in the first place to get that collagen and stuff broken down.
boiling it down won't do anything
>>
>>8435697
i pressure cooked it

i think i put in too much water
>>
Callagen only gives your stock some body. How does your stock taste? If it tastes good then use it as is.

Lets talk Swordfish faggots. I don't have a lot of time but I will post pics. I was going to do a quick lemon juice soak then salt and peppers and some basil. I'm grilling it.

Sides are spaghetti squash (roasted) and something with leeks.

I'm up for ideas and I have a shit ton of ingredients, but I don't like to over complicate my cooking. So what do you think?

Best fish as far as texture is concerned in my opinion, just pretty lacking in flavor; season that bitch up nomonom
>>
That actually sounds good to me. Just be careful not to soak it for too long in lemon juice. You might end up with an over done cerviche.
>>
>>8435572
Might wanna baste it in butter too.

This is basically my breakfast, every day.
Im not saying youre gay eating outmeal or some mooninduced porridge.
Im just saying: there are men on this planet, who works their ass off, keeps this shitty planet revolving.
So, thats what im eating.

Looks very....monochrome. I'm expecting to see some red chili peppers, some green onions, etc.

I do think you cooked the eggs perfectly though. Nothing worse than an over-cooked boiled egg in ramen...

Sous Vide Circulators

Is it worth the $150+ price?
37 posts and 4 images submitted.
>>
Yeah if you use it for the stuff it's good at like large roasts, low temp tough cuts, gels, tempered chocolate and shit

Not if you just got memed into buying it to make steak. You can do that with a pan and an oven just fine.
>>
>>8434303
>Is it worth the $150+ price?

Given that you can DIY something for a fraction of that cost I'd say no, it's not.

Sous vide is a great cooking technique but the price of the circulators is skyhigh because it's still a niche thing. There's absolutely no reason why they need to cost that much.
>>
>>8434310
I eat mostly the same food every day.
Chicken+rice+steamed vegetables.

I thought about buying one to save time, i already have a steamer for the rice+veggies, but i heard sous vide chicken is 10x better than the regular "chicken in the pan" method.

Plus ill mabye try some steak, never done it before, créme brulée, burgers. It seems so convinient, i don't know how much care it takes to own one, like what about cleaning and maintenance?

Anybody here have one of these coffee things?

Yea, got one for Christmas. The cups get expensive, and it's not any easier than a coffee pot. It sits in the corner unused while my cheap coffee pot and tea kettle get all the use.
>>
>>8433881
No
>>
I have one and use one frequently. I just use one of pic related with my own coffee so I don't pay for the fucking cups. I like having a single cup of coffee at any moment so I keep it by my desk.

Good evening, gents. r/cooking said that if I want actual advice I should stay away from here. Let's just say that I have a problem with authority, so here I am. What's the best advice you can give a "beginner"? (I use quotes because I'm not a beginner persay...)

Thanks in advance.

doing some rum shopping for the next couple of weekends, was wondering if I could get some input on a couple before I buy? I'm more inclined to trust an unvarnished opinion here from somebody with demonstrable knowledge.

First up is pic related. Seems to be a solid lighter rum for cocktails at its price point.

OP if you come back 60 minutes just did a piece on havannah club last week. recommend you look it up and watch it.

can anyone relate to this?

today i made turkey pie and 10 quarts of turkey stock from leftovers, desert squares and cookies

but when i don't feel like cooking i will eat saltines, cream cheese, and raw veggies for days

no middle ground

either cooking and baking all day every day, or not going in the kitchen for weeks

it's not just out of necessity either, i would just as soon let the turkey all rot if i'm not on the right polarity, it wouldn't be the first time

I don't know about being bipolar, but I tend to have ups and downs like those.

Sometimes my mood "drops" just as I finish cooking and I can't even bring myself to eat what I cooked, and end up feeding the dog what I can after a couple bites.

This can last for quite a while and I'm not sure what the cause could be, I'm not anorexic or anything but I really can't bring myself to eat sometimes
>>
No but I cook with BPD, I'm always craving like 10 different things and change my mind about what to cook constantly and can never meal plan because I'm too impulsive and then when I try to cook I fuck up and hate myself and feel worthless and want to die over simple mistakes and end up just getting take out and blowing all my money.

Sounds like depression. You can see a psychologist for help, though I advise strongly against seeing a psychiatrist.

Exercise, even though I so fucking hate it, really helps me unwind. A simple fast pace running in place for 5 - 15 minutes right in front of your computer does the trick.

Hope it works out, anon friend.
