All these shit fastfood threads made me hungry for hamburgers. But since I don't eat garbage, I made my own buns and will grind meat later and make my own.
Rate my buns, cu/ck/'s. Crumb shot coming up.

Have you ever been to a restaurant?
>>8471722
Once. There were a lot of Chinese people there.
>>8471722
One of the new-fangled eateries? Nope...seems stupid.
My home made cuisine is vastly superior to garbage served in a "restaurant".
Plain yogurt with live cultures is not only nutritious, but it helps keep your digestive tract straight and allows you to better process the foods you eat.
It's easy as hell to do, and less expensive than buying yogurt alone.
...........Ingredients needed...........
Milk
Yogurt with live cultures
.....................................................
It doesn't matter what kind of milk you use, though milk with fat is always going to be more rich and flavorful.
You can use any plain yogurt, as long as it still has the active cultures. Look for it on the label, and if it says "live cultures" or "active cultures" then that's the one you want. Don't use any flavored yogurts, as the results aren't as good.
Let's get started.
>>8471687
1. The first thing we want to do is heat the milk to at least 185 degrees to kill any funky shit that might be in it that could fuck up our yogurt. I use two stock pots and boil water in one then put the stock pot with the milk in it in the boiling water to prevent burning.
Regardless, do what you need to do to heat your milk.
When my water starts to boil, then I know my milk is hot enough, and while you don't want to boil your milk, it's fine if it happens accidentally.
A thermometer comes in handy here. 185 F is what your goal is, and then you can take it off the heat.
>>8471718
2. Now that the milk's been heated, we need to cool it down to add our yogurt. Too hot, and the cultures die. Too cold, and they're not as active.
110 F is our target.
To speed up the process, put the hot milk in a cold water bath and change it out a few times until you reach your temp.
110 F is just hot enough that you can keep your finger in it for about 10 seconds before you want to pull it out. Of course, it's best to use a thermometer.
Next, we add the yogurt.
>>8471745
3. Once we get close to 110 F, it's time to add our yogurt starter. I usually toss in about half a quart of store bought yogurt, as I've had better results using more than less. However, I've had success using only a cup as well.
You can use yogurt right out of the fridge, but you'll be able to maintain a higher temp if you allow it to come up to room temp before you toss it in. All you have to do is add it, and give it a good stir.
Then it's time to insulate it and let it ferment.
I'm getting sick of eating soup and shit for lunch. What are some quick things I bring for lunches at work?
>>8471684
Sandwiches, or oats and squats.
>>8471684
1 apple.
Cup of grapes.
Cup of nuts.
Can of tuna.
3 crackers and a small pot of cream cheese.
>>8471684
Try eating soup without shit - it's much better that way.
Is this the next big food fad?
Restaurants are serving fruit leather with everything now, especially on top of steaks.
>>8471594
Isn't that just a fruit roll-up? Kek
>>8471604
Yes, but 20 times more expensive by weight since it was made by artisans (scam artists).
If you haven't ever eaten steak a la fruit leather with a side of artisan catsup, you simply haven't lived

Hello, I'm a traditional Irish chef. I moved to America a few years ago and often miss my homeland. However one thing I could take with me was my love of Irish cooking. Potatoes, cabbage, you name it. I'll cook it. Every month i get together with friends and make a traditional Irish meal for them. Irish beef stew is my favorite meal to make.

So sad, this guy was my hero.
sauce?
DESU, I've only known about him from that one 80s cookbook we had at my parent's place. One of the pictures in there was of a roast rabbit in some sort of dark brown sauce, heads and all. Don't think I've ever tried any of the recipes.

1 get your steak to room temperature

5 cook steak on each side for 5 minutes
6 take steak out of pan and put in oven for 10 more minutes
7 cut up steak and eat with gravy or put in burrrito
Or eat it with soy sauce
>>8471348
Thanks I'll try this
>>8471348
or you learn to cook first before telling people how to cook steak
1 buy several dollar steaks
2 compress them together with elmer's meat(tm) glue and the weight of a steel-toed boot filled with nickels
3 wait 4 days at room temp for it to compress, dry, and age
4 boil it in a 8 cups of water, and 1/8 cup of whole milk (so, 2% milk)
5 remove and pat dry with cheese cloth
6 using a ball point pen, stud the steak with holes and insert caramel flavored jelly beans
7 sear with a waffle iron for about 10 minutes to achieve perfect well-doneness
8 in a small bowl, pour A1 steak sauce, sriracha and ketchup
9 pour those into a smaller, plastic bowl an mix with a freakishly small wooden spoon
10 pour your sauce into a tulip glass for added presentation
11 slice steak with the grain and serve with your choice of crinkle cut french fries or dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets
bone app-a-teat
bro, next time you eat a burger, on your way to heart disease and anal cancer [ref. https://www.cancercouncil.com.au/21639/cancer-information/cancer-risk-and-prevention/healthy-weight-diet-and-exercise/meat-and-cancer/ ], I hope you stop and consider the living mammal who was slaughtered in order for you to consume his rotting muscle tissue and interstitial fats.
that is all. thank you.
Yeah so i have an eating disorder. It started years ago, it´s not anorexia etc. I just don´t like food, i hate eating and everything else. I hate cooking. But there is a men in my life. My new boyfriend. We met in a club, he came out of nowhere. And he changed a lot in my life, even if he doesn´t know it. He says things like "Hei. Just stop it. Just stop being sad. Just don´t do it". And somehow that helps me a lot.
And today i ordered food. I do that from time to time. But today i ordered it just because i wanted to eat that. Not because i was hungry. Not because i need to eat. Just because i wanted to eat a burger and chicken nuggets, just for the fun so fuck your cows. Man. For me that means a world. And i hope i will be brave enough to tell him that when i see him again.
>>8471331
K....what now? I'm still gonna eat this whataburger double meat with cheese.
>implying the prospect of death doesn't make me want to eat it more
Two birds, one stone.
how do you properly soak these?
I usually leave them in a pot of water over night (so at least 8 hours), in the fridge, with a splash of soy sauce. they re-hydrate pretty alright but they're never as soft as you would get them in a Chinese restaurant.
is adding soy sauce a bad idea? should I soak them for longer?
also, this happens regardless of brand, whether it's from a general store or a Chinese shop.
>>8471285
add a little vinegar too
>>8471289
rice vinegar or any old stuff would do?
Do you take out the pit in these?
They have a pit thats crunchy
Also they're supposed to be a bit crispy not soft
Yum yum yum

I have seen this in Japan and it's one of those things you try once for the sheer novelty of. Think of near raw chicken with a consistency chewier than raw steak. Yum!
there's nothing wrong with eating raw chicken
It's been about two weeks since this arose and I'm already bored of it.
