Not me, but I am listening to the album Songs of Robert Burns by Ewan MacColl.
I'm no Scot but I like the music.

I used to drink while taking benzodiazepines quite frequently. They say not to but I never had any real issues. It helped me sleep through the hangover and not wake up in a panic.

I used to have meat with pretty much every meal because that's how my parents were cooking. After being on my own for a few years I started to change my eating habits and cutting down on meat. Now I only eat meat on special occasions.
Pros:
- plants are cheap
- easier to control my weight
- I only eat good cuts of meat now
- exploring the vegan/vegetarian recipes taught me how to cook with a lot of ingredients I wasn't familiar with
How much meat do you eat? Have you ever thought about cutting down?
plants are gay
>>8497521
>Have you ever thought about cutting down?
Nope
Honestly, after eating a vegetarian meal, I just don't feel as satisfied as I do if I had meat.
Pic: three different types of Mexican coffee
Also, don't feed the mormons
Previous shitflinging thread: >>8474720
why do Fat people and Americans ruin their coffee with things like milk, sugar or flavorite
I mean if you can't enjoy the roast without milk, your either brewing it wrong, or your an american using some shit flash frozen coffee
>>8496987
probably because coffee, in addition to tasting good on its own, also tastes good when combined with other flavors
I occasionally buy those pre-packaged veggie mixes (like pic) at the grocery store, because convenient. Some of you guys made a big deal about those being a waste of money and how you could easily make a better and cheaper mix yourself.
So, I tried that...
It turned out horrible. I figured I'd just mix some shit together, believing it would be hard to fuck up a veggie mix, but apparently I did. It had mushrooms, leek, cabbage, green onion, a bell pepper, maybe more, I forgot. I still have 3 bags left, but I'd rather not eat them anymore. Apparently I need help with this.
Anyone have suggestions for making tasty veggie mixes?

who the fuck says this?
>>8509807
>who the fuck says this?
Some anons.
I've read the occasional scoffing remark about people buying those, instead of making it themselves. Those remarks stuck with me and encouraged me to try this. It kinda seemed to make sense, but I may be better off buying the pre-packaged stuff myself.
I've never seen anyone trash talking those mixed vegetable packs here. In fact, it'd probably be cheaper (and save you a lot of effort) if you bought them rather than making them yourself. The reason I don't use them is that they're frozen, and frozen food tastes terrible.
I live near little Saigon in bay area, and I frequently go to the cafes.
I love the cafes, but I don't like their iced coffee, I find it too sweet/creamy kind of like a milkshake.
They always have jasmine tea, but once I think they served a lotus tea.
I really enjoy lotus tea, but I can't seem to find a cheap brands.
What are other floral/green teas besides lotus and jasmine?
Chamomile surprisingly awesome tea!
>>8509599
The iced tea at strip clubs always taste like sewer water
Chrysanthemum is common; but it's rather sweet against my liking. I've had tea made from sakura, but it's seasonal. That's just about all the floral tea in Asia.
There is also dandelion and chamomile in the West.

>I love the cafes, but I don't like their iced coffee, I find it too sweet/creamy kind of like a milkshake
Just mix in half of the condensed milk like I do.
The chicken shell is really bland, to the point that the avocado ranch overwhelms it. Not worth $3 at all.
Well of course it was bad, but the still got that $3 from you.
Don't have taco bell in my country but Joey said it was great and he reviewed it naked, so fuck off lying OP
ZERO meat inside the taco.
Far better off getting 3 double deckers
if you were on a deserted planet and this were the only animal alive with you, would you 1) eat 2) marry or 3) pet.
4) fuck
Probably pet. Its companionship might be better than a few meals. If its mean I would eat it
Pet until I reached starvation and need to eat it for survival. Especially since it seems to be a baby, so the longer I hold out the more meat I get.
What are some cooking series similar to The Mind of a Chef?
I haven't been a big fan of TV in the last few years. I see food network totally sucks these days. So I'm interested in finding some good food shows, a couple weeks ago I see a guy named Action Bronson doing a show called fuck that's delicious. On viceland or munchies YouTube channel. I like how real he is.
I checked out the show OP mentions and it seems alright except for bordains annoying voice. And single chef for the season or half season might get old ? We'll see about that. Plus only some of the episodes can be accessed on the PBS app. But all can be watched on the PBS website, that's dumb...
What do you all watch. Why do you like it ? What don't you like so much about it?
As for you OP good eats is kinda similar but most of us know/seen,love/hate it/him.
I absolutely loved the episodes at Fäviken. 10/10 would watch again.
This is very interesting to me, a sandwich made from pizza crust...thoughts?
>>8508973
Hmm.....
What is calzone?
considering that pizza crust is basically just bread, I'd call it legit. would probably try one.
What ingredients should I buy if I want to be able to make most sauces at any time without going to the store?
>>8508966
Shallots, garlic, dry vermouth, cream, flour, butter, eggs, better than bouillon brand boullon (beef, chix, fish, veg), herbs de Provence, fines herbes
>>8508980
*That runs the gamut for most French (mother) sauces. Forgot tomatoes, but you should always have some on hand anyway. As well as a good Dijon mustard and sour cream. Asian sauces are its own rabbit hole, you can learn more about here: http://thewoksoflife.com/chinese-ingredients-glossary/ And having a good curry powder on hand is always valuable.
>>8508980
>>8508990
And you should always have capers and anchovies on hand, and a jar of good pesto (basil & sundried, Aldi has a terrific one), fresh herbs when possible (garden), but here in the states you can buy herbs packed in olive oil and sold in tubes, basil, parsley, lemongrass, ginger etc., that work well in a pinch for the home cook. It's winter here so garden is shot until May.
