The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued final guidance on how food manufacturers, processors, growers and operators can reduce levels of acrylamide--a chemical that the International Agency for Research on Cancer considers to be a human carcinogen--in food. The U.S. National Toxicology Program also believes acrylamide to be linked to cancer.
Acrylamide is developed when starchy foods like grains and potatoes are cooked to high temperatures, usually via baking, frying or roasting. Most acrylamide research has centered around food products such as french fries and potato chips, but the FDA’s guidance does also acknowledge breakfast cereals, cookies, crackers and toasted bread. Coffee is also a common source of acrylamide.
The FDA urges consumers to enjoy a healthy, balanced diet that includes fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats, poultry, eggs, nuts, beans, and fish. The agency advises against foods that contain fats, trans fats, added sugars, salt and cholesterol.

The European Food Safety Authority’s (EFSA) Panel on Contaminants in the Food Chain has published its scientific opinion on acrylamide--a chemical that naturally forms in starchy food products during every-day high-temperature cooking--found in food, reconfirming previous evaluations that its presence in food does in fact increase consumer risk of cancer.
The panel’s findings are based on results from animal studies. Tests show that exposure to acrylamide was both genotoxic and carcinogenic, ultimately causing damage to DNA and triggering cancerous cells.

i went to a cheap breakfast place after a night shift so i didn't order coffee and my meal came to under $5
i gave the woman a $20 bill and she gave me exactly $15 back
i didn't care that she helped herself to how ever many cents tip but i didn't want to stiff her so i tried to give her a five and asked for change
she thought i was asking for the change back from the meal and LOST HER SHIT at me in front of everyone
i'm a quiet, polite person and it was so horrible and embarrassing.. i just left and never went back

I have a long story but don't feel like typing out all the details.
In short, some friends and I were regulars at a restaurant that was in a complex of several sit-down restaurants. I don't normally eat out since I'm not much for paying people to carry my food and refill my water, but it was the only place open late enough to socialize and eat after work. One night, I decide to pay with exact change and let my friends cover the tip afterwards (I never tip, and this story is part of why). Apparently I accidentally gave an extra quarter or something, so our waitress thinks I gave her a minuscule tip, despite us leaving several dollars of cash on the table, which results in the entire waitstaff calling us cocksuckers on the way out of the restaurant. It's a surreal situation, but we take it up with the management. We later find out that nothing happened to any of the employees since they constructed the story that my group of friends are rude and never tip. Since all the waitstaff of that restaurant and all the surrounding restaurants are "friends", we ended up being shitlisted in the entire complex. They even started inventing stories about us dumping trash in their parking lots and convincing the management to call the cops if they ever see us again.

my grandmother makes really good fried chicken
its not some american recipe bullshit either
this is classic hungarian recipe used for generations
the approach is simple:
1. get a plate and put flour in it
2. get a plate and put egg yolk in it
3. get a plate and put bread crumbs in it
4. take your raw chicken meat and soak it in the yolk, flour, and bread crumbs
5. put it in frying pan with oil
give it a few mins. done. thats as good as fried chicken can possibly get and anyone that tells you otherwise is a retard with no culinary experience so just ignore them.

This is my first cast iron skillet and the first time I'm using it.
I followed a recipe for cast iron pizza but something went wrong and I fucked up.
I scraped off black burnt crusts of pizza with somd random plastic cookware and now the pan looks like this.
Have I damaged the thing? Tips for restoring it?

In the past 5 years or so, probably about 4 days. Actively making a change now though, planning no alcohol during the week and moderation at the weekend.
Tried moderation a couple of nights ago and after a a few drinks I thought fuck it and opened a bottle of wine, then more drinks after. Can't go on like that, not sustainable at all and must be really bad for me.

I haven't been sober for more than a month straight in 9 years.
The last time I was sober for a month was in Q1 of 2016. Needless to say I still drink every day, but I have mostly cut out liquor. Bottle of wine or a shit ton of beer anyway.
