I've been running a DnD campaign at my house and everyone has asked me to make a meal and prep some snacks for the night. I've colllected about $80 from everyone so what should I make that's not too hard or messy? I'm pretty handy in he kitchen, if that helps.
Gummy dragon dildos

There were a few pictures floating around a while ago about the type of foods different races (dwarves, elves, hobbits, etc.) would eat on a journey, that would be perfect, wish I could find it.
>>9364942
I've always done things where most of the work is in advance so all I have to do is either keep the food warm or do one simple cooking step. The last thing you want to do is try and juggle cooking and gaming at the same time. You also want to keep things simple with a minimal amount of plates/bowls/silverware.
My go-tos were either chili or a stew of some kind as an actual meal, and for snacks I'd make something really simple like deep-frying some taquitos, making small pigs-in-a-blanket and baking them, etc.
I like Kidney beans, sliced red onions and peas wit diced tomatoes and for spices i use corriander, soy sauce, garlic powder, ginger and chlli flakes
fava beans and rapeseed in a nice chianti and blood orange chutney.
what the fucking bloody hell is this shit
is this for dog/housewolf?

>he's never made beanslop
It's something you eat when you don't have enough ingredients/experience to make a real meal but need to eat.
Mostly a poor people/stoner thing. Last week I made mine with diced tomatoes, corn, rice, kielbasa, beans and cheese. Was not fantastic, but filling and edible.
What is your favorite method of cooking? I enjoy the way it fills my house with warm, comfy smells and turns my garbage cuts into gold

420 Braise it.
stews for a similar reason, but I also like soup in general so I prefer the added liquid

Roasting. The flavor can't be beat. Downside is building a fire and waiting forever.

Alright, /ck/, I'm an okay cook, not great, and I've been doing burritos for two weeks.
>Tortillas
>diced tomatos
>chili beans
>corn
>white rice
>chicken
>cheese
I make a big bowl of ingredients mixed together (with the fat from the breasts) and then prep up to 14 burritos for the week. I bake them for 15 minutes after all are prepped to melt the cheese and stiffen the tortillas a bit, then I wrap them in foil and put them in the refrigerator for the week.
How do I make them better? They're fine as is, a bit bland, but I really want some flavor.
Is there a sauce I can make, add a hair of heat and flavor, or what? More ingredients? My usual run makes about 14 burritos with 4 chicken breasts and a can of each ingredient (drained, of course.)
>>9364402
I love bbq sauce on burrito meat. I know it's not traditional but it tastes good.
>>9364402
Sure, there are lots of things you can do:
1) chicken thigh instead of breast. Much tastier. Cheaper too!
2) Your cooking method. Baking is going to be bland as fuck. You want to get some color on the ingredients. Color = malliard reaction = tastes good. Grill the chicken. Saute the vegetables. Then combine it and fill the burritos.
3) Ingredient quality: Get dry beans and cook them with stock instead of using canned beans. Get better cheese.
Of course there are plenty of sauces you could buy or make.
Add some peppers so it has some flavor.

up your game, OP.
Hi, /ck/. Long-time lurker here, I find myself needing some advice.
Here's the greentext :
>three months ago
>finishing med imaging studies
>don't want to do that anymore
>find a job as a commis at a small place
>shit pay but cooking ain't hard
>liked it a lot
The place is particular in several aspects, the boss wanted to go gastronomic and advertises as such, but no-one on the staff has any experience whatsoever, BoH of FoH. The boss is a lazy, kind of dumb, completely oblivious alcoholic, and we as nine underpaid, undertrained cooks and waiters (Ages 18-26) had almost complete autonomy and responsibility over the place.
This may sound terrible, but we get really good ratings and the customers as well as the staff consistently tell me I'm great at this.
Kitchen-wise, we usually worked as 2 cooks and a dishwasher, serving 20-35 meals per night, everything home-made from fresh ingredients, desserts included. Stuff like duck magret, scallops, beef tataki, pavlovas, everything with fancily presented and made with love.
So I'm thinking, with 3 months of experience and a lot of home cooking behind me, about looking for a job that pays more than minimum wage in this field.
Professionnal cooks of /ck/, what am I in for ? Do you have any advice ?
>>9363181
Don't do it.
>>9363181
If you love it, you should do it. But if you're expecting good pay...
Does apple juice belong in risotto /ck/?

>there's no gate closing off their kitchen to keep the mongrols out
>eat with their family
>I'm picking dog hairs out of my food the fucking whole time
Why the fuck would someone live like this?
>>9362929
I don't know
My family had two dogs
They weren't allowed in the kitchen. They knew it. They didn't need a gate.
If you own dogs, it is your responsibility to train them. The thing with dogs is that deep down inside they love rules and orders. Keeps them sane.
>>9362955
They let their cat up on the counters and the dogs on their expensive chairs. They don't seem to want to institute any sort of rules and barely any training. It's gotta be a health risk to prepare food in that kind of environment.
>>9363000
I can understand a cat. It's just a matter of giving up since you literally cannot train cats unless you starve them
But the dogs have no excuse.
Dogs live to learn rules and tricks.
You don't even need to try and they'll learn.
My mom used to joke that one of my dogs would be able to cook if she had thumbs. That dog would sit at the entrance to the kitchen and watch all food prep with laser focus. Every action she'd be paying the utmost attention.
Smart fucking dog too.
