If fruits were a jrpg, would this be the final boss?
No it would be you, OP, for you are the biggest fruit of all.
>implying the final boss wouldn't be a pineapple
Reddit: Le Fruit
I'm thinking of trying it out but $60 a week turns me off because I don't have plans to cook 3 times a week I'm more so interested in trying out a new recipe once a week or so.
Anybody have any opinions on Blue Apron?
fuck right the fuck back to whatever shillhole you came from.
>>8588049
If it were like $15-20 a week I may try it, but the current price point is bullshit high.
>>8588072
4chan is so autistic with shills
You have just woken to find yourself all alone on a remote island. You hear a voice shout from behind
>WELCOME TO FLAVOR TOWN
Startled, you turn around and see that Guy Fieri is standing uncomfortably close to you. He explains that this island is his personal prison, you are the only creature on this island, and in order to leave, you must construct a 3 course meal. The only help you have is a mystical tree in the middle of the island that will dispense one and only one ingrediant you choose for the entirety of your stay.
So, /ck/, what do you make?
>>8587778
A gun with bullets inside
>>8587778
A Portuguese man of war to bring me the sweet release of death.
Do I get pans and shit? Cause that will make a huge difference.
Recently acquired about 60lbs of boneless, skinless chicken breasts. Now I'm starting to draw a blank as what to do with it. There's the usual suspects like chicken cordon bleu and fried strips and grilled, but after that I've just kind of hit a wall. The cooking equivalent of writer's block I guess.
What's /ck/'s favorite things to do with chicken breasts?
>>8587537
pair with broccoli, brown rice, black beans and lifting.
>>8587537
They get dry soo fast... i usually cube them and do marinated kebabs to try to keep them from drying out too bad. Or chicken salad. Chicken piccata. Lots of options
Cream of chicken soup, water to dilute, add rice, chopped chicken breast, chopped broccoli and cauliflower. Season. Bake for like an hour, hour and a half at 350. Add cheese if you feel like it. Maybe breadcrumbs. It's not science.
How can I get more then one onion from an onion bulb? Or is that not possible with bulbs?
also why can't i grow potatos?
Every time I try to grow them in a cup of water they start rotting and smelling JUST as It's starting to grow
>>8587522
You won't get more than one onion from one plant, unless it's some weird mutant, which has happened a few times with mine, but not often.
Potatoes even planted in poorly drained soil will rot, so you won't be growing them in water. It's one reason they do best in a sandier soil.
>buy one bell pepper
>plant all the seeds
>get all the peppers
:D
What other foods can become mass producing easy-maintenance pets?
a bag of garbage no self respecting human being would ever consider eating.
>>8587481
A trip ?
Who's watching the new season then? Watched the first episode and though it was shit. Hope it gets better.
>>8587269
well netflix original shows are generally dog shit so i dont know what you were expecting
>>8587290
The Alex Atala episode is fucking excellent.
>>8587269
Garbage. I'm switching to filmstruck
Is having a full English every day bad for you? I've been doing it for weeks already and everyone is telling me I'm gonna die. (Not a fat fuck btw, I have fast metabolism + I lift so I really doubt I'll die, but I'd like to know you cu/ck/s opinion)
>is such-and-such healthy?
>btw not fat
1. This is unnecessary and redundant, fat people decide on the answer before the question is even asked. If you are asking, we already know you aren't fat
2. There is no such thing as a "fast metabolism", the variance % is so low as to be insignificant compared to common perception. The reality is you aren't paying much attention to what you eat, same as fat people who think it's "genetics"
3. Too much cured meats, and too much meat in general is not good in the long run, but since you asked, you will actually die in a terrible and unexpected accident at age 29 so live life while you've got it, anon and don't worry too much about old age
Nah you're gud
Well it's a fair amount of saturated fat to be eating, but if your diet is otherwise lean, an active person won't give themselves a heart attack eating one every day.
Whatever you retards do. Do not buy this brand of "thick cut" bacon.
It is not thick at all
Bar-S makes good bacon.
Which is surprising 'cause their other products (hot dogs, sausage, bologna) are nauseatingly bad. Their bologna was the most foul shit ever, I'd rather get punched in the stomach than eat it again.
>>8587245
I buy pic related made by Smithfield but have never had their bacon. I get HEB thick cut, peppered
>>8587245
I buy seasoning bacon.
I'll wait
>bagged tea
>superior to anything
I find it funny that Britbongs are supposed to be the world experts on tea and yet all of the many britfags I know have absolutely shit tier taste when it comes to tea. And no, I don't care if you're not a Britbong, OP
>>8587003
there's literally nothing wrong with bagged tea, same with ground coffee
>they don't harvest their own tea
bunch of plebs
This is a great treat, I buy these to treat myself, you?
Do you microwave them or bake them in the oven? I actually prefer them microwaved because fuck waiting almost an hour for a $1.29 frozen mass produced pot pie.
>>8586966
I microwave them, the oven takes far too long for such a small food item and really the only benefit it a crispier crust, and for me, I just to break the crust off from the rim of it and mix it all into the rest of the filling with a dash of black pepper, so it gets soggy with me regardless because of the method I eat
>>8586977
That's exactly what I do as well. Microwave, break the top crust and rim off, mix it in, some black pepper mixed in. You're a good person.
Anyone /Soylent/ here?
I bought 1.4 two years ago to take to a music festival, I was flying in, and had to travel super light.
Shit was pretty good, its like a thick milkshake, and honestly a single serving made me feel full right after consuming it. I have never felt full that fast before. I brought 3 days worth with me, but only used 1 bags, which is 1 days worth of food.
I used it since when I go camping, and when I had a stomach flu, and couldnt eat anything.
Gave some to my friend who broke her jaw, she couldnt chew anything. She liked it, got her through being depressed. She got nasty scar, and lost some teeth.
Anyway, anyone else tried the stuff?
What do you think?
It's gross. Just eat rice and beans.
I've tried the 2.0 ready-to-drink meal, but i didn't like the taste and never ordered again.
Once they release a new improve version with better taste i'll give it another shot.
>>8586801
I eat it for most meals. Powder form. It's alright, gets the job done. I'm sure you'll get the autismos in here soon enough telling you about how it's going to literally magically turn you into a woman, even though the only relatable story to that was some dumb fuck drinking three quarts of soy milk a day that fucked up his hormone levels, as if that wouldn't happen drinking three quarts of anything, and some anecdotal bullshit about some tranny video game speedrunner. I haven't noticed any change, except my gut problems abating.
What snacks do you pair with your alcohol, when your inhibition gets shut down and you just have to munch out?
Red wine (pinot noir):
-authentic Mexican queso fresco (I live on the border)
-chips and salsa
-jalapeno chips
-greek yogurt mixed with a bit of tabasco sauce and served with chips
Gin:
-crackers and cream cheese
-hummus and pita or (tortilla) chips
-(frozen) blueberries
-toast with jam
The funny thing is that it's hard for me to interchange: for example, eating salsa and chips is great with the pinot noir, but tastes disgusting if you're drinking gin. Similarly, the hummus is just way too bitter if I drink wine, but tastes delightful with gin.
I get in my car and hope i dont get pulled over on my way to McDonald's, taco Bell or the local bistro
McDonald's - Mac Jr meal
Taco Bell- cheesy potato burritos
Bistro- french onion soup and a Reuben
>>8586735
Holy shit man, you're way too fancy for /ck/
For me, it's getting trashed on cheap vodka and eating Ritz crackers and salami with American cheese slices
>>8586739
When I get drunk, I immediately want to hop on my car and drive to get food, but never end up doing.
>>8586742
Are you being sarcastic? You should see me drink wine: I'm such an alcoholic that I don't even bother serving the wine in a glass anymore, and just drink it from the bottle. I like to drink the gin straight.
And Ritz crackers are what I use to accompany the cream cheese!
I don't like vodka very much, though. Lastly, the wine I buy isn't particularly high-end. Usually around $10-11. Just enough to be decent and not give you a killer headache like $2 box wine.
what did you guys have/are expecting to have for dinner?
lemon butter trout with fresh parsley from my garden, babby tatties and steamed broccoli on the side.
>>8586249
That looks ok but a little bland
>>8586256
it was a teeny bit, i took the recipe out of the redwall cookbook i found at the thrift today.
added some salt, but i don't usually cook a ton so it was still fun to try somethin new
>>8586269
Ok I didnt ask for your life story faggot jesus christ
What's the most culinarily desirable mushroom? Chanterelles? I got some forest land I want to try to grow on, truffles take too long
imho, morels.
>>8586095
I have a mushroom phobia, no idea why but they creep the shit out of me.
>>8586199
Most likely this. Chanterelle's are good cooking mushrooms though.
