How do I deal with the constant nagging fear of energy bills when it comes to cooking?
I am TERRIFIED of using too much energy so refuse to cook anything that isn't super quick and fast to make.
I feel so terrified I cannot make any stews, bread or anything. Last week I tried to make bread but got scared halfway through the baking time and took the floury bread mixture out of the oven and ate the whole thing to pretend I enjoyed it. When I moved home my parents bought me a bunch of dry beans and I was scared to cook them as they take so long, so I ended up using them as bombs in my toy soldier playtime. I want to cook these things but just feel so pressured
How do I let go?
Oh come on, natural gas is cheap as fuck

Have you tried being less poor or getting a better paying job?
>A kWh of energy costs 0.22€ over here (likely significantly cheaper where you live)
>Your average stove plate has maybe 1.5 to 2kW power
>Running a 2kW stove for 1 hour per day for a month costs 13.2€ or $14
When's the last time you had a steak sandwich so tender that you never pulled out more meat than you'd originally bitten down on?
Know what I mean? You bite down and your bite doesn't go all the way through, so you end up ripping out more meat than you intended and the sandwich is ruined.
>>8593603
Never.
Enlighten me.
steak like that is probably too good for a crappy sandwich
>>8593609
I disagree. You get some provolone, mayo, grilled onions and peppers on there and it's every bit as good as eaten naked on a plate or with A-1.
Is pork the superior meat?
The best meat cooked perfectly is lamb.
That's all I'll say about that.
>>8591384
>cooked perfectly
Pork accept overcooking way better than lamb, that's why it's more popular in Murica...
Same goes with fat cuts and meats over lean cuts and meats in general.
>>8591304
Properly cooked pork is based but IMO overcooked pork is probably the worst out of any meat.
I'm in love with CACHOPO
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHSynni4AIk
What's the difference to cordon bleu?
>>8597166
It doesn't come with bacon, bitch. It comes with jamón ibérico.

You know, you can just call it Iberian ham. It's not really a proper noun, it's just the type of meat and its origin.
Do you feel bad when you fuck up your meal? I feel so terrible thar i immediately want to throw that failure into the waste bin.
>>8597097
Even if it's eatable?
>eatable
>>8597097
of course, especially when i cooked for many people.
So, my dad brought me pic related from India(he travels a lot because of hes job and knows that i love all kind of spicy condiments so he always brings me stuff from different countries) and im wondering what to do with it.
Its wierd tasting, its not unbearably hot, but its so fucking spicy. Its really salty and greasy, and has this pretty strong turmeric and tamarind taste to it.Kinda garlicy too.
What do i put it on?
Was thinking of making some rice with pork and put a few spoons of that in it

Subscribed.
Pretend to enjoy it on facebook as a form of virtue signalling so all your liberal friends know how much you love minorities. Apologize for being born white and promise never to wash your hands again after using the toilet.
Maybe something like a slow-cooker pulled pork or chicken with, say, sides of basmatti rice and mattar paneer?
What can I eat to lose weight?
>inb4 "le eat less xD!!!"
Also, any suggestions for fish or any kind of root vegetable will be ignored.
You'll never lose weight with that attitude.
Stay fat and die, porkey.
>>8596736
ipecac would probably do the trick.
>>8596742
I'm going to assume that you're American. Unlike you, my country's healthcare isn't a fucking joke, so I'll stay alive for a nice long time despite your funny post.
Amazon accidentally delivered this thing to our apartment, and I kept it.
I have a blender already, but this thing can heat the food as it blends it. Kinda useless for making drinks with ice, but good for soups and shit.
I so far have not used it for much, not big into blenders. Made an occasional smoothy.
What am I missing out on. What can I do with this thing?
Nice bait, faggot. Saged.
>>8596230
>but good for soups and shit.
>What can I do with this thing?
Soups and shit.
Hello /ck/, /an/ and a bit of /pol/ here,
I have recently got into tea and am looking for better quality loose leaf to buy. My roommate and I went to pic related and I picked out a small selection of earl grey black teas as well as some white tea. They all have had a better flavor than Twinings loose leaf earl grey so far.
I can't help but feel like there are even better places and/or verities of tea. So far I have liked earl grey-type teas, as well as white tea.
What are some other good places to buy tea from? What other verities of tea does /ck/ recommend?
>>8595682
Marshals/TJMaxx has a lot of nice discount teas that are excellent.
I buy all my this there now, Teavana sometimes shows up.
>>8595701
Anything you like in particular from there? Anything you could recommend?
teavana is shit from what i've heard over at /tea/, never been there though so i can't really tell you if that is true or not.
your best bet is ordering online. very few stores will carry loose leaf tea that is of above average quality. /tea/'s pastebin has a good list of websites to check out: http://pastebin.com/SWNA0rLX
my favorite place to order tea from is upton teas. cheap samples and bulk pricing, above average quality of tea. they have a lot of different earl grey teas. adagio tea also has some okay selections, but if you're looking for flavored teas they are hit or miss. their earl grey bravo is good, as well as their earl grey lavender.
personally, i enjoy teas of the green variety, and there are many different types of green teas depending on origin. genmaicha is sencha with puffed rice in it, it is very comfy. regular sencha, as long as it is of good quality, is very refreshing. my personal favorites are lapsang souchong (a very smokey black tea) and genmaicha. good luck on your tea journey, op, i find trying new teas to be very exciting
What's the most exotic, peculiar, and/or unique alcoholic beverage you've ever had, /ck/?
Razmatazz and water
>>8595668
Advocaat with spinach
>>8595668
I had this Slovakian wine, or maybe it was a spirit, the fact that I can't recall the name or even what it was tells you everything you need to know. It sent me to the fucking shadow realm
For me it is Nigella, the best chef.
>>8594786
She's not a chef.
Never has been, never will be.
>>8594794
But she's perfect. She is the best chef.
I'm going to last Vegas I'm staying on the strip what restaurant should I try I want to mix a fancy and also cheap food done well
>>8594087
Las* damn autocorrect
Cheap food: Rolling Smoke BBQ, best Beef Ribs
Medium Price: Bouchon Bistro; it's Thomas Keller, it's well made. Beautiful atmosphere.
High end: Virtually anything you find on The Strip. It'll be good but man get ready to pay $150 per person.
The Eater's Top Restaurants is a solid guide.
http://vegas.eater.com/maps/best-las-vegas-restaurants-38
Also for interesting & cheap food check out Spring Mountain (Vegas's Asian District), there's lots of really good little restaurants there. Godly Thai food.
>>8594117
Thanks man I'm definitely going to check out the Thomas Keller restaurant he is one of my favorite chef he's actually one inspired my mentor to become a chef
since the coke formula is now public domain, why hasn't a competitor sprung up with a cheaper brand with the same famous coke taste?
Sugar water is gross.
>>8593367
It's not public domain just because it is publicly known. You can't just copy it, you have to change it up a little bit.
>>8593381
shadup fagot.
ill start

>>8592878
