Hey /ck/ucks,
My university is throwing a huge cheese tasting event and I am in charge of most of it.
Budget is $10,000. | This is not a joke |
$6000 of this budget will be allocated to buying the actual cheese.
I want your advice on what cheeses I should buy. The basics like parmesan, gouda, gruyere, brie, and the such will be there.
I need to make a list of a lot of cheeses that we will buy. The event will be at the beggining of next month.
Also, do you guys think I should buy 100 different types of cheeses and have a little bit of each, or maybe just a dozen or so different cheeses and buy a lot of each one. We are talking about ~400 pounds of cheese, so I have a lot of room to spare.
Relevant info:
>College is located in VA
>14,000 students on campus
Thanks in advance!

My advice would be to find a cheese wholesaler/grower and then go from there
Aren't most of the best cheeses in the world banned in america?

Just buy plastic bags. Americans won't know the different

What the FUCK happened to warheads? I remember eating them as a kid, i remember my face squishing together because of the taste.
I remember eating most of a bag at once and going to the hospital for it.
I saw a bag at the check out and decided id buy one because why not.
>SWEET
disgusting
>>8633765
I don't think they've changed the taste. Maybe you're just less of a little bitch now.
>>8633765
One time i ordered a 5lb bag of them when i was super high. It was a mistake
>>8633765
I used to run water over them to get the sour off because I loved the taste of the candy itself but the sour was always unpleasant to me
Are they worth it? What's the best (while being somewhat cheap) rice steamer to get?
I got that exact cooker as a Christmas present. It works well and keeps the rice ready for hours. It even can use it as a slow cooker for other foods.
>>8633740
Yeah it's about 45-50 leaf bucks on Amazon, had my eye on it for quite some time, but wanted to get some research and opinions from others before buying
Have you tried all sorts of rice? Any trouble of anything?
>>8633733
Honestly they're only worth it if you're going to be making obscene amounts of rice all the time
You'll get the same result on stove top once you actually get the hang of making rice correctly. It takes only a tiny bit more effort, but it's almost negligible.
If you're going to get a rice cooker, get a zojirushi. To be honest again, the amount you pay is barely worth it, but it's the only good rice cooker on the market.

what taco bell item or specials would you like to be brought back? or what new item would you like to see?
for me it is the fire volcano box and i would like the option of a sweet hot sauce like mango habanero or pineapple
>>8633393
I mostly just really want the habanero sauce or volcano sauce to become a permanent part of the menu. None of the current TB sauces are spicy enough.
As for specific items, I already want the double stacked tacos to come back. Those things were great.
Chimichanga. When I worked at taco bell I would deep fry the grill stuff burritos. Taco bell shills, please make it happen
>>8633393
Dear G*d, please return cinnamon twists to the taco bell menu.
Thanks,

Do you do this? How much in store?
>>8633390
Is good comrade, hoard much food in store when hide from commissar.

My grandmother used to have an enormous vegetable garden, and would can everything for winter. She probably got 90% of her food out of that (along with the cows on the back acreage).
It was great. I wish I had a tenth of the energy and gardening ability she had.

She was an amazing woman. Don't forget how she rode dick hard with her hot tight pussy.
How many of these boxes of pizza do you think you could eat?
I could easily down 5 before I wanted to puke, then at least 3 more before I actually did.
God I love pizza.
I can only eat half of a hot n ready before sweating grease and powerful liquid shit flys out of my ass
2 of those but I wouldn't enjoy it. Not trying to meme but i'm from Chicago.
I could eat a couple slices of Little Caesars before wanting to puke. Maybe 3-4 slices of Papa John's. But I can and have eaten an entire Pizza Hut pizza without even trying/realizing it. I bet I could eat a couple + if it was a challenge.
It's the crust.. everyone always talks shit about them, but the one near me does it perfect. It's so crispy on the outside, especially the bottom, hot and chewy on the inside, and delicious and perfect. Addictive as shit. You could put any topping on that shit and I'd eat it.
I love onions, but unfortunately, they sometimes cause me to bloat, it's extremely uncomfortable. I don't think this has every happened when the onions have been panfried till it yellows/browns, but it happens when I just boil it, and when I use onion powder. I brought this bottle of onion powder recently, and it made my broccoli and cream of mushroom pasta taste delicious - but hours later, upset stomach and bloat, it felt like my guts was swollen.
Will browning the onion powder in a pan takes away it's bloating effects? What about leeks? Leeks irritates my bowels if I try to consume more than half a stalk. Does mixing stuff like onions, leeks, and broccoli with dairy causes bloating? When I had my bad experience with leeks, I had it with cream chowder.
I normally consume a huge amount of dairy with no problem
You should just remove yourself from the gene pool
>>8633104
Lookup low FODMAP diets. There are a few compounds in foods like oligosaccarides which disagree with the gut of people who have IBS and others disorders. You have listed the highest on the offending foodlists. This has nothing to do with dairy which is from lacking digestive enzymes due to genetics
>>8633133
Echoing this. I used FODMAPs to figure out that I am sensitive to higg-fructan produce; I save the smelly shit like broccoli for when I eat out.

I am convinced that NOTHING they serve there is good when you're sober. I gag thinking about that soupy macaroni.
If anything, and I mean anything, is a meme, it's Wawa.

Honestly I'm more disappointed by the coffee if anything; it's unreasonably watery and burnt half the time.
Guys when they say "hot cereal" do they mean heated cereal and milk? I tried microwaving mine and pic related happened.
Are you supposed to use a pot?
>>8632341
it means things like oatmeal which are heated during preparation
>>8632341
Honeycombs are not a hot cereal.
fuckin noob. You're supposed to fry the cereal in a pan with butter preferably, just until lightly browned, then add milk, and reduce until thick. wala--hot cereal
