What ones are missed the most
I don't have much of a sweet tooth now, but I remember really enjoying these as a kid.
There's already a nostalgia thread, /b/tard.
>>8674016
you're just part of the herd, sheep.
>What are you currently drinking?
Laphroaig QC and just had a small glass of Caol Ila
I've tried many Laphroaig whiskey's and QC is still my favorite of them all
>>8671091
I like triple wood but I haven't seen a bottle in store for a while. I've been drinking Monkey Shoulder tonight.
>>8671091
i'm on Macallan 18 tonight but i'm honestly more of a bourbon man. It just so happens that I had my last Blanton's last night and neglected to re-up.

Is chef John GOAT?
He's fat.
Uses too much cayenne
>>8667317
His YT comments are fucking hysterical.
We need a dessert thread, right fucking now. Post your favorite dessert recipes.
This shit right here. This fucking shit. This is the stuff that God eats.
>bottom layer of chopped nuts
>next layer is whipped cream + cream cheese + powdered sugar
>next layer is chocolate + vanilla pudding
>final layer is more whipped cream
>sprinkle extras on top such as marshmallows, graham crackers, etc.
My dick is hard just thinking about it.
i like carrot cake
>>8660478
I like the texture of carrot cake
Are there any dishes well suited for chicken meat after it's been used for stock? I realize most of the flavor os gone but I really don't wanna waste meat if possible
That's what cats/dogs are for.
Oh, while I'm here, what happens if you put a stock cube in homemade stock? Does the flavor intensify or are you just ruining your stock?
>>8676911
If I had one.
i made enchiladas one time that weren't bad but i usually just give it to my dog
Can Chinese people eat anything else besides Chinese food? They're the dumbest race of people, always eating the same shit. It's like they're fucking retarded or something. Why don't they try something new for once.
>>8676263
Can OP eat anything other than dicks? They're the dumbest subset of human, always eating whatever dick comes their way. It's like they're fucking addicted to cock or something. Perhaps OP should try something new for once.
>>8676263
I've noticed most third world shitholes share this habit.
>>8676263
>It's like they're fucking retarded or something

>>8674959
Taqueria next door to my condo serves these.
Nothing more refreshing than washing down a smothered Chimichanga with a pineapple soda.
>>8674959
Do they even make strawberry anymore? I drank that shit like water like 5 years ago but suddenly it's nowhere to be found. Even moved to a new state and it's never on the shelves. The other flavors are nothing special
How is this chain still alive? What kind of retard would knowingly consume their pre-packaged garbage?
I spent $15 on cardboard-like pasta there a few years ago and im still mad about it
Wagecucks eaing there at lunch
It's basically a bar masquerading as a restaurant. They're usually located in malls because the mall employees go there to get hammered on cocktails during lunch and after work.
>>8674874
stop typing 'cucks' so people in the real world can stop feeling shame for you. please. You make me ashamed of humanity.
>buy a half turkey breast
>do some courtesy googling for expected oven times
>find out that the pop-up pin initiates at like ~180 internal temp
Why do they even put them in there? I ended up using my own metal thermometer, but it seems pretty shitty to make a system where people take it out when it's overdone.
Also, explains a lot why my mom always made dry turkey.
so they don't get sued
because americans are retarded babies that can't handle finding a bay leaf in their food
>>8674324
>explains why my mom always made dry turkey
No, it explains that your mother cooked a whole turkey and you are missing some experience and knowledge.
Parts of the turkey are done at different temps, dark and white, and the underneath vs the top of the bird, especially if you aren't using a quality lidded and covered roaster (I do, but does everyone? no). When you cook a turkey whole, you will likely overcook the breast by 10F to make sure the whole entire thing is done at the same time while the dark meat catches up. The popup timer is a courtesy for those without thermometers handy. And, contrary to what you read, it doesn't pop up at exactly at 180, but somewhere random from 165-180, like not a real science at all where some thing inside finally melts and gives up the spring, and that is the range for all the various meats, so like you already know, use your own if it matters to you.
I present to you, the simplest, the best, the nicest food you'll ever try. Chicken rice.
>>8673654
I might gonna choke to death from that, so dry. Don't you have any sauce?
It's good, but keep in mind whitebreads who expect chicken to be breaded and deep fried are going to be triggered as fuck by it
>>8673654
That is a good dish. The place near me that used to make it is now an upscale sandwich shop. I miss it.
Hey /ck/,
I'm a complete beginner to cooking, have never cooked anything other than scrambled eggs and french toast a few times.
Could you recommend me some books to progress me to a decent chef from nothing? One that explains almost everything, including recipes and stuff?
Also, do you guys have a list of things that one should know how to cook no matter what, one that I can go through and become a functioning cook?
Thank in advance
Last time I replied to one of these threads and tried to give a serious reply, NEETs jumped on my back for posting unreasonable stuff for elitist chefs
>OMG PUTTING A PAN ON THE STOVE? NICE HUMBLE BRAG YOU FAGGOT HE SAID BEGINNER
>WHAAT? A KIND OF MEAT I CAN'T FIND AT BOSTON MARKET? STOP BEING PRETENTIOUS
>HUH? YOU EXPECT A BEGINNER TO MAKE HIS OWN DECISION ON WHAT LOOKS GOOD FROM A SHORT LIST OF EXTREMELY SIMPLE RECIPES? HOLY SHIT KILL YOURSELF
So, here is a link I will offer instead

joy of cooking
any cookbook from america's test kitchen/cook's illustrated
Michael Ruhlman-Twenty is a pretty good cooking book for newbeginners but if you are that new I would recommend you tube. Check out Food Wishes channel, also Brothers Green Eats is pretty cool with some really easy and everyday stuff. There are many very useful channels but start with these and then explore.
You fuckers ready for this? Real time baby.

Shitty pic, and I don't give a shit about latte art other than not making the foam turn into a big goop on the top. Got a Breville 870XL a few months ago after years of considering one. Fucking love it.

Espresso is definitely a love it or hate it sort of thing. Definitely some merit to it tho. I still fuckin love straight up coffee too.
