Hey /ck, I was wondering what opinion you guys have on MREs (Meal Ready to Eat). I am not talking about the commercial MRE packages, I am referring to the military supplied ones. Feel free to comment on what countries have the best MREs, and what personal experiences you have with them.

Now let's get this out on a tray

My dad brought back an armload of U.S. MRE's from the gulf war when I was a kid. They weren't horrible, but on par with other average canned foods in the states. They're neat, but the novelty wore off after eating a few of them. If I had to eat them for weeks on end it would probably make me depressed and really want real food.
what do you eat when you have an upset tum tum, /ck/?
>>8694933
Alcohol.
Vomit.
Feel better.
>>8694933
Rice porridge, good for all ailments.

what about farina?
why can't beer people just stop being the worst people on the planet for just a single day?
It looks fine
god
estrogens in beer make men passive aggressive and whiny like women
Guinness is disgusting fucking mud no matter how it's poured.
>it looks fine
I don't give two fucks about Guinness or Ireland, but no. Just no. That doesn't look fine, and that's not okay.
Learn how to pour a proper pint, especially if you're going to profess to be a dumb tacky "Irish themed pub".
Do you like it? Or is it garbage?
>black licorice
That's redundant, dum dum.
i'd prefer garbage
It's an acquired taste
Who else here enjoys liver and onions? A very underrated dish imo. I've only ever had it at bars and diners, but today I finally picked up a piece of liver to cook at home. Any tips on how to cook it? I hear that even slightly overcooking can make it as tough as leather, so I want to be careful. I also don't really like cooking with my frying pan so I was planning on baking it in the oven.
Calf liver is very good, as long as the liver is fresh and it's not overcooked
If you bought beef liver, I'm sorry. It's terrible and nothing can fix it
>>8694817
Pan nice and hot, splash of oil, sear it off (30 seconds a side) season, finish in oven (8-10 mins for lamb), done.
Liver is finnicky because slightly over is dry as all fuck, and under is chewy and unhealthy
As for onions, i have found carsmelising is best for this dish. Slice fine and add to the oven with the liver.
Remember that different animals have different tasting livers mayn.
Liver and bacon is my favourite.
On the train home today a young man was eating Mcflurry from burger king which alone is very shameful an absolute disgrace but then things took a turn for the worse and the absolute freak of nature started taking fries out of his BK bag and was scooping up ice cream and eating them together.
I felt like confronting his but it was a very busy train and I just wanted to get home.
Have you ever come across such disgusting eating habits?
>>8694723
>Mcflurry from burger king
just fuck off

Jeez, kid.
Whatever BK's version of Mcflurry is you absolute retard.
Let's talk about foods that taste different but are still otherwise similar. Obviously apples and oranges don't count because apples are vastly superior in every way.
I'll start: Poptarts / toaster strudels
>>8694586
Poptarts taste like cardboard.
I'll buy a box of toaster strudels tonight to see what they taste like.
Cheeseburgers and sandwiches
carrots and parsnips
Why can Jew food be so god damned good sometimes?
>>8694484
Because Jews aren't actually as bad as /pol/ wants you to think?
what's inherently jewish about a salmon sandwich?
>>8694484
No pork.no meat and cheese together fasting every year with matzo
Who here likes to crush up chips into a bowl of salsa and eat it with a spoon?
It is truly the patrician method.
I only do this when I get down to the last of the chips and they're all too small to dip
fuck off leaf

Congrats, you made a walking taco except in a bowl instead of a bag.
Hey /ck/! Today, we're going to be making a fun, easy, and delicious desert! Protien packed, desert tendies! Start with, of course, your favorite tendies. We chose some Tyson's beer battered tendies because the batter soaks up the deliciousness!
>>8694358
take your exclamation marks and stick them up your arse
Next, pick your favorite topping! I really love the taste of caramel and chocolate sauce, so we decided to load up these bad boys with both.
>>8694380
Next, we need some color. Everyone loves a splash of vibrant reds and blues, so some sprinkles are a great choice for some of that!
Also, whipped cream is always a great option too. Full of calcium, and delicious too, this will make your desert tendies stand out from the crowd!
Childhood is enjoying the taste of Chedder Cheese. Adulthood is realizing that Parmesean makes more sense.

Lolno.
If you had said blue cheese I might agree with you.
Adulthood is realizing different cheeses suit different circumstances

Buy some pesto from your local supermarket and mix in in with some olive oil into the pasta.
>>8694362
>Buy some (...) from your local supermarket
/ck/, everybody!
>>8694354
Francaise is super easy to make.
2 cups chicken stock
4 Tbs butter
4 Tbs lemon juice
1 Tbs minced garlic
1 tbs minced onion
.25 cup fresh chopped parsley
Here's the tricky part, throw all that shit together (except the parsley) in a sauce pan and reduce by half. Add to cooked pasta, toss in fresh parsley, mix, serve.
Easy peasy m8.
If you REALLY want to wow them, fry up some chicken cutlets to go with this pasta, coating it in the same sauce.
