Is it acceptable to order a Shirley Temple at the bar?
>>8734365
If you're under 12, probably. But then you wouldn't be allowed into the bar.
>>8734365
Yes. Why wouldn't it be?
>>8734383
I was in the mood for one the other night, but didnt feel like getting shit for ordering one from the staff or customers
What are some super low calorie foods I can eat to keep full?
I'm keeping super low calorie over the next two months, and like to wait throughout the day to have a larger meal for dinner, which keeps me from cheating.
My go-to has basically been pickles (and other pickled products like okra and such), raw veggies with hot sauce, lean sandwich meat, and that's about it. It's getting a little bland.
I'm hoping to get from wake-up to about 7 PM under 200 calories each day.
>>8734139
>under 200 calories each day.
Go to /fit/ and read the stickies on nutrition. You will only damage yourself eating under like 1500 calories a day, it's too extreme.
>>8734139
Shirataki noodles.
>under 200 calories each day.
Enjoy your starvation.
>>8734176
Not 200 calories a day, before 7 PM.
I'm eating 1,000-1,200 a day.
Come on boys I'm a lazy and hungry fuck feeling adventurous, what should I order from the chinese takeaway that isn't just chow mein?
Lemon chicken
Pepper steak and onion
Curry shrimp
>>8733904
chow fun with gravy if you've never had it, delicious.
>>8733904
Mapo Tofu.
>that one person who orders chicken tenders and fries at every restaraunt
I thought this was a meme, but it's real. There are actually people who do this. What the fuck is the point of eating out if you're going to eat the same damn shit every time?
>>8733760
For me it is fish and chips, the safest thing to order at a restaurant I've never been to.
>Guy ordering boneless wings
Those are just chicken nuggets you pretentious faggot
>>8733760
Yes OP there are picky eaters who are socially awkward in such situations
How do I seperate this so I can defrost half now in the microwave? It's about 1.4 lbs
a bullet
bread knife.
Punch it.
Does anybody do mealprep?
I've wanted to do it for awhile but I can never find any example recipes to follow. Getting the portions right seems really goddamn hard.
>>8733548
>Getting the portions right seems really goddamn hard.
How could it possibly be hard? Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you mean, but it seems brain-dead simple to me. Pick how much you want to eat per meal. Multiply that by the number of meals your making. Prep that much.
>>8733548
Yeah that's why measuring cups exist.
>>8733548
But it's not fresh, and why would I want the same shit all week? Why don't you boil enough noodles fo two days and add stuff that keeps long enough at your workplace like dried tomatoes, cheese and prefried garlic? Of course my text just critisizes the picture.
Oh yeah, to stay in context, I do it. I have a few things at work like cans of sardines, dried tomatoes etc. to mix with my noodles for a good meal.
Local grocery had chicken legs and thighs on sale and I just bought a grill (charcoal) a week ago.
Any tips on cooking chicken on a charcoal grill? Never did it before and I want to learn. It seems like a lot of trial and error involved.
>>8733466
It's easy. Season them first, but don't apply any sauce yet.
Set up your grill for indirect cooking. That means you put the coals to the side so the chicken isn't directly over the coals. Cook until the chicken is cooked through with the lid on.
Then apply sauce (if you are using it), and move the chicken on top of the coals to finish the outside. That takes just a minute or two with the lid off.
>>8733472
Seconding this. Dont make the mistake of cooking them directly over coals the entire time or you'll just burn the inside and still be raw in the middle
>>8733466
It's not too hard.
>Open your bottom vents all the way
>Top vents about 1/2 open
>Use a whole bag of charcoal
>Let it go completely gray before adding the chicken
>Use plenty of salt in your rub, and get it under the skin
>Cook it skin-side up for the first 30 minutes
>Don't open the lid if you can help it
>Turn it after 30 minutes, cook for another 20 minutes or so until it's done
At this point you can sauce it or whatever. If that's your thing, brush some on every 5 minutes, turning in between applications, for about 20 minutes.
Who /knorr/ here?
>>8733321
Never heard Ramen Noodles pu that way but sure I guess I am.
>>8733321
Love them, cheap and only need butter or milk. I usually use them as a side or just by themselves
>>8733329
Nigger what?
Does anyone have any advice for a person who wants to be a bartender/sommelier? Something like basics to know and learn and how to pass a proper CV. And is it actually worth it to work in a gay bar for tips?
Depends. How old are you and how are your looks.
If you are good looking male 20+ then you can get into the job quite easy without any further training and get the basics on the fly.
If you want to do it for a living well into your older years you should probably pick up other stuff.
>And is it actually worth it to work in a gay bar for tips?
Experience is experience which is good. But you should be comfortable in your skin because they are going to want your butt. And if that weirds you out you wont have a nice time.
>>8733554
I'm already putting time in a course related to restaurants in general so I already have some recommendations since it's half practical work.
>>8733303
Worship your barbacks the way kitchen staff worships their dishwasher. Yeah they may just be running ice and kegs but they'll save your ass if you need saving.
Be energetic, don't ever look bored and work the crowd. Don't get roped into a 15 minute monologue from some guy talking about 'nam and them filthy gooks.
Never show up hungover, or your legs will turn to cement, know booze but don't use booze...also never let customers buy you drinks because they think it's the same as a tip and you get fucked.
>tfw american lardass
>tfw force myself to go on diet
>tfw no idea what to eat other than egg sandwiches, protein shakes and chicken/vegetable stir fry (with no oil)
What are some healthy (hopefully filling) meals I can make that are 300-500 calories each
Unfortunately, what you described pretty much sums up the lay of the land on a diet.
You wanna stick to whole foods, because they're easier to count. How many calories a day?
>>8733194
Anon, just follow an american heart assoc diet, or join weight watchers. You seem really beginner on your understanding of nutrition.
Filling means you eat higher fiber, whether you simply take some supplements, or try to have whole grains, whole fruit, unprocessed choices, so that you get the filling thing on the least amount of calories.
>>8733300
>How many calories a day?
1200-1500

What do look for when buying a french press?
Your local municipality's recycling laws. Aeropress or GTFO
>>8732357
>Aeropress
The memest of memes. Functionally exactly zero difference from a french press.
>inb4 muh air cussion
Irrelevant is what it is.
>>8732360
>Functionally
If you define the function as "putting caffeine in your bloodstream", maybe. Just take caffeine pills if you don't give a shit about taste.
San Marzano canned tomatoes are around 5 to 7 times more expensive than standard tomato brands in my country. Has anyone used these canned tomatoes to make marinara sauces for Pizza/Pasta? What were the results? Has anyone noticed any difference in taste between the cheaper brands and the premium San Marzanos?
>>8731959
I just use ketchup?
>>8731959
Just plant tomatoes. I already have 40 plants and April hasn't started yet. Shit's going to be ridiculous here in a couple months when I end up with 150lbs from $1 worth of seed.
I don't even really like them that much.
And no those are just regular tomatoes with an eggplant shape and a California name price hike.
Canned tomatoes are cancerous as fuck. Don't eat those OP
