I've worked in a Supermarket Deli for close to a year now. The only people that order "___ Loaf" are senior citizens, and I assume they do that because it's cheap and it reminds them of the shitty lunchmeats they ate as a child. I've never seen someone under the age of 50 order Dixie, Pepper, Old-Fashioned, or P&P (OP) Loaf.

On a more serious note, a lot of people don't realize how cinnamon goes well with many things. It's not just for cookies and desserts, try adding some cinnamon to your seasoning mix for beef or pork.

Yes I track calories because of I don't I might overeat. I measure everything out, add the calories together, and divide it by the number of servings the item makes.

Midwest farmhouse version would be fresh garden peas and freshly dug potatoes in a cream sauce made with butter, flour, milk, salt and pepper. It's only worth bothering with if you have really fresh ingredients. Te dish is totally boring made from supermarket ingredients.
