Summer is coming up, I want to look decent. That is, loose a few pounds (like 30).
What are some snacks I can eat when the little hunger comes sneaking upon me?

Im gona buy my mom a rice cooker today because she needs one.

I wanna get her a really nice one because she's basically the only one in her house who does anything especially cooks. Any advice on brands? I'd also like to know what store to go to. There's a Sears, JC penny, Walmart and other various department stores near me I can go to.

This is the one I have, it's great. Cheap and super easy to use, makes great rice. You could get a zojirushi off Amazon, but they're a like $300+ and probably way fancier than you need.

Is it really worth all the extra time involved to make Fries/Chips the way Heston Blumenthol does? I mean I'm sure of course these are way better than what you get at a casual restaurant but come on five cooking steps to make the most common side dish?

twice frying is the standard method to make french fries and shit. this just adds one step.

i personally microwave my chips before twice frying. it dries out the surface nicely and you can rough them up a bit better without them falling apart.

making chips at home is dumb anyway. in fact any kind of deep frying without a commercial fryer is just a huge ballache

hey, so I made a thread about my job a few months ago and got a lot of really good questions and responses. had a good time. so I guess I'll try again.

ask a guy that works at a place that grows/processes/packages primarily organic frozen vegetables/fruit anything.

a few disclaimers:

>I am not an expert or some kind of food biologist, but I know a lot of "insider" things on how your frozen veg is manufactured from my line of work.
