Anyone ever tried a confit in one of these? Would love to hear experiences. I have made some confit pork shoulder and then drained the fat and added ingredients to make a braise/stew-y type thing with additional veg and potato... turned out pretty good but took about 5 hrs total.

i did this just today with merguez, for 4 servings:

-cook 500g spaghetti
-take 300g of sausages, make small meatballs
-fry in pan with 2 red onions and 2 garlic cloves. add chili powder, oregano, salt and 2 tablespoons of tomato paste. add juice of a half lemon and half cup of water
-add spaghetti, mix

Boil in beer and onions, 10 mins or so.
Strain out beer.
Return onions and sausage to pan.
Add unsalted butter
Brown off sausage, caramelize onion

Put in bun or serve with side of spaetzle.
