can we please get some /water/ discussion going? Post god tier/shit tier brands, filters etc.

I'll start: is there a worse fucking brand of water than this? I hate to sound like a spoiled bitch but no memes at all, I can't drink this water. Undrinkable, yet everybody else around me chugs it like there's no tomorrow. I can't place my finger on it. There's a taste to it, and a texture, that feels unnatural. I've only met one other person who feels similarly. And i'm not even joking, you could not force me to drink this water. I would puke

On a lighter note: Aquafina and Dasani are still killing it, like always. Can't go wrong with Crystal Geyser either.

On another note, there is literal pool water coming out of american taps and it's fucking pissing me off.
I travelled across the country to find better water but all that comes out is more and more chlorine. What the fuck did we do to ourselves disowning fluoride? Apparently it was a pipe disinfectant and now we have to have fucking bleach instead.
I kind of want the fluoride back, even though it's poison.

hi seekay can we get a tomato sauce thread going? i'm trying to learn to make specifically sauce for pasta (or pizza, not really sure what the seasoning differences are). i eventually want to venture into salsa and hot sauces, but again i'm really not sure where to start.

I made a salsa the other day. All you need for sauces is a blender, some jars, and your necessary ingredients. Salt and/or lemon juice work as decent preservatives so you can store your sauce for up to a couple of weeks in the fridge.

By the way, "canning" is a boiling process I only do with vegetables from my garden like peeled tomatoes or some homemade pickles. Those could store well for a year and have been stored that long before with no difference in taste.
For generic red Italian food sauce, oregano goes well like >>8783236 said, and I like to include a little onion and garlic powder, too.


So, OP, what kind of pasta are we talking here? Spaghetti?

How do you peeps live for next to nothing, foodwise?

here are some things I do/have done:

>eat at missions/soup kitchens (more meat than you get at a food bank)
>use food banks (mostly bread, dairy, and veggies)
>fill up water jugs at a public park water fountain
>apply for food stamps (easy as shit, just takes a week or two or three to get your card)

I posted a bunch of generic , well known ways to get foods, but would love to hear some obscure methods you people use!

This shit is the best. I'm expanding my pb&j repertoire and I stumbled upon this creation:

Peanut Butter (I like crunchy but either works)
Strawberry Jam
Bananas

and combine them on the grainiest, most fibrous bread you've got in your kitchen (toasted if you're truly patrician)

Serve with milk.

Who else creates peanut butter and jelly (or jam!) sandwiches and REALLY enjoys them?

With bananas and strawberry sounds really good, it's practically a dessert at that point.

I'm a simple guy: good bread, toasted, a little butter and then raspberry or cherry jam and crunchy peanut butter. Saskatoon berry or chokecherry if you can manage to hunt those down.
