I've been drinking the coffee from the Flavia machine at work (it's supposedly horrid coffee, but I kind of like the taste) and want to start making my own coffee on the weekends. Recommend me a coffee starter pack please!
Should I get a drip pot, aeropress, moka pot, Chemex, or some other crazy contraption?
Should I get a grinder and grind my own beans?
Any recommended starter coffees?
Ipretty much only drink coffee at work but we have one of those Flavia machines too. If you guys get the Alterra crap try the barista blend or the Sumatran blend but shake the hell out of the packet to compact the coffee at the bottom of the pouch and then make an espresso with it. Way better than the regular cups of coffee. I drink a double every day at work.

>Sumatran blend
This is actually the one I've been drinking. I will try shaking the packet to compact it.
Are moka pots any good? I love the styling, but I'm not sure the coffee tastes good.
For me, it is the McChicken with cheese.
That's right: tender, crispy, flame-broiled cheese flakes bursting with Habanero pepper essence.

A lot of people here call this guy a meme chef, but he taught himself to cook and cook well, he did the hard yards to build up his restaurant to what it is now.
I've been watching a few of his videos on YouTube about basic cooking techniques.
Check this out:

I cooked a steak in the same manner as he did and it came out perfect.
>>8785048
No it didn't. The steak was underseasoned (or rather unseasoned. The one demonstrated in the video was also sloppy either because it was a prop setup or he salted the meat before airing it to dry.
While Heston gets a lot of things right, he gets the seasoning wrong.
That said, there's some debate to be had there, so I won't get into it.

After research and trying out chocolate bars it seems that undisputidly Amedei Porcelana is considered the best chocolate bar and a gold standard benchmark.
What are some other artisan chocolate bars that are on par with porcelana?
>>8778806
Hersheys, the best chocolate bar.

How can a chocolate bar be pretentious? If it seems too fancy/precious/expensive then it's not pretentious, it's just not for you.
I have come in possession of a box of 1000 altar breads (don't ask). As some of you might know they taste of absolutely nothing, as it is made of flour, water and a blessing.

Why is granola so expensive?
I did some math, and some walnut+honey granola I found costs 20 cents per 100 kcal. Whereas a medium box of Cheerios costs 30 cents.
So I don't know what you're comparing it to, but it doesn't seem that expensive to me.
>>8786319
28oz of Quaker Oats and Honey is 5 dollars while 42oz of Quaker Oats is 4 dollars.
Doesn't seem like the granola should cost that much more than the oats.
>>8786327
Why not? They're more processed and there's more ingredients.

buy some soy sauce, some chili sauces, some sugar
some chicken, some beef, some frozen veggies.

Bout to try this hot new meme flavor from Kettle Chips, the undisputed King of meme flavors (e.g. Sriracha flavor, Maple Bacon flavor, Himalayan Pink Salt flavor, etc.)
What's the best Kettle flavor? Also why is Kettle the best brand of chips?
Those goddamn chips are worth a fortune in Brazil. I've never seen someone even contemplating buying a bag of those.

Yeahhh, so I just moved into an apartment with a full sized fridge but a tiny OLD electric oven with 2 small hobs and 1 large one; poor heat control.
I'm looking for some tasty budget-smart recipes that aren't beans and rice that I can make; something not boring either. Looking for inspiration.
