Liberty City Anime Con '17

I'm going Sat+Sunday. Probably regular clothes or at most comfy cosplay like sports anime jerseys etc.

Is it just me or is it strange how few people are excited for this one? For a convention this size LCAC has seemingly no social media presence. No meetups being planned, photoshoots, or anything. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong areas of the internet.

Well because AnimeNYC is a sponsored con happening in Nov and not run by thirst lord photogs with bad reps.

Also it has an overall rep of being poorly planned, panels being weak, events being boring or unorganized, and the location is pretty meh. Nothing to be excited about.

I'm honestly only going because it gives me an excuse to go to Manhattan and I already bought the ticket.

LCAC is trash, honestly, don't waste your time. The con is bad and mainly preteens walking around screaming. Save yourself the trouble and get some decent food in the city instead.

Well right now he's notching because he lost his camera while traveling from Otakon, but every con he can get to he bitches that no one wants to shoot with him but instead goes to free photogs. He's been ousted for using photo shoots as a way to slide into girls pants and holds photos hostage so he has more time in their inboxes. Considering he charges $50 or whatever for a shoot, if you've been paid, photos should be delivered.

He shamelessly and sometimes annoyingly self promoted at cons along the east coast but also shit talks about literally everything. Liberty City has him as an official photog for the con, so he sucks the cons dick dry. The whole con is basically run by guys with cameras who offer pictures for panty shots.

He sometimes uses other photos and pretends there his own too. See his recent post asking people to shoot boudoir at Otakon. He used photos he download, and barely even edited the accompanying text on one of them at the edge of the photo.

This is the first con I'll be attending and Im already starting to feel regret. I feel excited for it but I'm expecting it'll turn out bad and it's $60 I'll never be getting back. Just fuck my shit up negros

Also is there a convenient bathroom/dressing room close by the convention centre? Never been to this place and I'm pretty hesitant to wear my costume on the way there

Also I just changed in one of the bathrooms at the convention center, though it only involved putting on a wig/hat and putting on thigh highs so it wasn't much of a costume.

My condolences. Despite the size and fame of Manhattan our luck with cons is slim. The few successful ones aren't really around anymore. Reedpop has been trying to make nycc less cosplay/general public friendly in the last few years. Nyaf was super weebfest, but it was fun until it was swallowed and killed by nycc. Big Apple Comic Con I heard was fun but Idk what happened to it. Everything else is in jersey.

Shit sucks.

I went last year, it was nice. Perfect amount of people; neither super crowded nor weirdly vacant. Wish it wasn't in times fucking square.

My friends and I accidently snuck in, we just kept walking to see cosplayers and we realized we were in the main con. Literally no one stopped us and I'm really glad I didn't shill out money for this or dress up. Most of the cosplays were sub-par and the good cosplayers seemed really pissed sitting around (for good reason, I'd be upset too) we snuck into two panels, the Manga "library" was closed, so we just rode on the elevator and saw the hotel because that was 2x more interesting than this convention.

It was bad. Somehow the group Superheros Unlimited who sell cosutmes conned their way into judging the costume show and some premade cosutmes won awards.

Yeah I talked to him as well at the con and it went pretty well. He didn't really come off as creepy or anything imo. Quite talkative but he was friendly. I'd usually feel it like five minutes into the conversation if someone's coming off too strong/creepy and I start bailing

I shot with Eugene once and he was very unhappy I brought my dad along with me to watch over the photoshoot
