Hope this is the right place to post stuff like this.

There's a high tier wishlist item of mine that I found for a reasonable price. I was only interested in buying it in a set, since that's how it originally was sold. I asked the seller if she could find the rest of the set, and she was happy to look for me. She seems to have found them, and I'm happy she took the time to search, but in that time, she also jacked up the price of the dress by 250 USD. I'm not sure if I should still buy the dress. Am I being entitled, or is she being shady? Outside opinions would be appreciated. I'm too emotionally invested.

To be fair, the price was probably lower when she first listed it precisely because of the missing piece -- especially if you say it was originally sold as a set, most people would see that as a serious flaw, even more so if it's a print dress that's difficult to match. It's not really about a hairclip being worth 250usd, it was about giving a discount to buy an incomplete set. So now that she's found the missing pieces, it's no longer incomplete, and she put the price back up.

If you can find the listing for cheaper elsewhere, just let her know, maybe she can match the price. Otherwise I'd just suck it up and buy from one of the other sellers. I wouldn't expect the price to remain discounted once she fixed the flaw of the set being incomplete.

If it's really a dream dress, I usually will have separate funds held for in case the dress pops up. A lot of anons here just post dresses they mildly like, and then don't buy it when anons spend the time to find it for them. Yeah, well people should be clear about their intentions because people do go looking and this thread has been like that for some time - I bought my DD two years ago because anons looked out for me from these threads, and they also alerted me when the seller had been worried due to me not replying to LM messages (which was due to no email notifications, not me being a flake). The entire purpose of the DD thread is so people can help others find high priority items. It is not a show and tell and has only turned into that over recent years thanks to poor newfags who just want to show off things they can't afford. The expectation when posting to this thread is that other anons are on the lookout for you and that sentiment is reciprocated.
