Was anyone at the Otaku Parlimentary Debate on the 3rd. That was HANDS DOWN the best panel event I went to. People were losing their minds and the whole crowd was into it like I've never seen before. I thought it was the cringiest, most painful things of all time so I mostly hung with him and the others on the government. Helped weed out the hardcore weirdos and I only hung out with the cooler ones. Met my first girlfriend there. I felt a bit bad because the group of friends I stayed with, I didn't get to interact with as much since I was meeting up and hanging out with another group of friends I met for the first time in person. I had a blast, just wish I had more energy to do shit and more confidence to talk. The sailor mars dude at the neon district was inspiring to talk to.

That being said, it's hard as fuck to coordinate people in this city since there's so many people and so much traffic, I still don't know how the locals here do it. hope to be more outgoing next year

Since I couldn't find any doujins of my rare OTPs, decided to just buy three doujins of one of my rare fandoms in general, Fruits Basket! (Hoping they're based on the manga and not the crappy anime.

Overall a pretty good haul this year, I broke $1000 including the shit I bought for a friend too, I didn't get EVERYTHING I wanted due to it not being available/out of time/out of money but still made off with quite a lot that covers most of my fandoms! (JRPGs/Sailor Moon/Fruits Basket/J-fashion)

I tried starting it, but it's definitely further than I had read (I didn't recognize some of the characters) so I had to hold off until I finish reading the rest of Sailor Moon. How much did the sailor moon cost you? If you're this into games and collecting in-game boxes and stuff, I'd recommend a trip to Japan. Japanese treat their retro market like a million times better than the US. I was able to find a boxed copy of TTYD with everything in it. I'd never been so excited.

I haven't seen it at AX. I've seen it at A-Kon in Dallas, back around the year 2000, and I've seen it once more about 4 years ago. I'm not certain where I saw it the second time, but I think it might have been either Fanime or the now defunct (at least in the US) Japan Expo. I have never been to any con that wasn't an anime con.

Best of luck trying to find it in the wild in the US. It should be easy to find in Japan though. Honestly, I'd just buy it on eBay and pay $75-100.

Yes, it's always been a rare find in the US. I remember seeing some pale skinny guy with a pony tail pick it up from my local comic book store back in Texas way back when it was released. The store special ordered it for him, and he told me his roommate knew Japanese and was going to translate it for him. It's just not something you will easily find here. In Japan, stuff like this isn't too hard to find.

I wouldn't worry about bootlegs. The book is huge and the amount of effort it would take to bootleg it just isn't likely considering how niche it is. Also if you ever wanna chat more about this kinda stuff feel free to add me on skype, asukaxox.
