Can I get some recommendations for petticoats that look nice with Aatp dresses like pic related? My poofy cupcake petti makes it look overstuffed, a-line looks wrong and my medium cupcake petti makes the dress fit weird at the top part of the skirt. Splitting the shipping is very likely going to be unfair, since some shoes weigh a lot and some are much lighter
If you just split the shipping evenly, somebody is probably paying more than they would have if they made the order themselves
And you cant really calculate the weight beforehand either.

Any Canadanons know how the ems situation has been recently? Still waiting on one item to arrive for a parcel I need by the 27th and I know canada post has been so all over the place I'm not sure at what point even ems shipping wouldnt be a safe bet anymore.

okay, this is slightly driving me nuts and I'm hoping someone else has a better suggestion.

I'm looking for ribbons with a bit of glitter woven through them, like pic. AP uses them on certain dresses, so I really want them too. The catch is that I want them in 2-2.5cm, and in light pink and light blue. Unfortunately I can't seem to find that combo, like pic related is 4cm wide and doesn't come in pink or light blue.

My search would be easier if I weren't going through 100 pages of "Korean diy ribbon". Thing is, there doesn't seem to be any set kind of word to search for. I've found them (translated) as cotton ribbon, giftwrap ribbon, ribbed ribbon, ribbon ribbon ribbon ..... would really appreciate if someone can tell me how to narrow down the search terms so I'm only looking at this kind of ribbon.

My consolidation/forwarding page is getting pretty cluttered because it shows all the first deposits for the lolita dresses and I was wondering if there's a way to clear them off or at least mark them as digitally delivered. The taobao side shows them all as cleared and the sellers having received their money, it's just the consolidation/forwarding page that has these listed as "waiting for seller". I'm using the 4PX warehouse, if that makes a difference.

I do all of my orders through taobao cargo. Never had a problem. I would recommend going through a shopping service for preorders though. I had a minor issue with a preorder, but I was able to solve it with the help of google translate. I'll probably pay the extra money for a SS for preorders in the future.

I'm located in Asia though.

It's really a warehouse service like Tenso, but even more "cheapskate-r" and more hands-off. There's practically no English helpline, you negotiate and buy things from the shops on your own, and the warehouse doesn't open packages -- consolidation means they throw it all into a larger bag/box and ship that to you. So any returns/refunds are on your own to negotiate, too.

I really don't recommend doing taobao on your own for complicated things like buying made-to-order cosplay. I've used it fine for housewares and some supplies (note: powder, liquid and electric/battery/electronic stuff aren't allowed to be shipped). Lolita is one of those middle-of-the-road things, most of mine I just pick a size and colour and keep checking back for the second payment page so it seems easy enough to handle by itself. Anything more complicated I'd go back to my shopping service to handle it.

I'm talking about the shipping/consolidation page where you chose what packages you want to ship. With lolita deposits, there's usually nothing to ship -- the dress is mailed when you "purchase" the "tail payment", and I've already received that.

I mean it's not awful construction wise? No stray threads, it wears well if you have a small chest, and the print is good. It's just that the material is so thin (chiffon I think?) and it's very short. I'm 5'6" and it's mid-thigh on me.

I just tossed it on over my clothes real quick and tied the straps like a halter sundress so it's a bit bulky due to that but I'm 38C and 135lbs for reference. I'd have to wear safety shorts underneath or something but it's good quality for the price and summer-friendly material. There are resources to help you identify brand stock photos (rule of thumb: if the stock photo is stolen, you're most likely not getting the product you're paying for), and you can google Taobao lolita brands to see which are legit and offer original designs, and which which aren't.

It seems fairly straightforward? Every item in your order should have a barcode on it from Yoybuy's warehouse. If the items have barcodes just take a picture of them and they'll know they fucked up your order by giving you the wrong items. If there aren't barcodes or any other sign of Yoybuy property then that means your package got shipped but you got someone else's mail by mistake. Like you got Charlie X's package delivered to your house by mistake because the addresses were similar or something.

Just take a picture of the barcodes, the address label (especially the return address!) and basically anything else that can show Yoybuy whose name was it to be delivered to, whose name was it from, etc.

Just take a picture of the sender and receiver address with the tracking number. If it matches the tracking number they gave you and the sender address matches theirs, there's no way it's customs mistake. If they keep insisting on the item barcode even though there isn't any, and everything else checks out, do a paypal claim or a credit card claim. You'll win. It's the seller's responsibility to keep track of the issues with the mail, too, if you used paypal.

So yes, my links would literally be lost somewhere in a chatlog (either FB messenger or google hangouts) -- where the girl running the group order would sometimes come back and say "x is sold out, what do you wanna do?" and I'd just sub another lace bolero or chiffon dress in from another shop. So not only is it lost in a chat log somewhere, it's also mixed up with other shops I may not have ordered from.

I guess if you're ordering custom-size cosplay it's a lot different since you'd have to message the store, and would remember which store was which? I only ever ordered off-the-rack cheap stuff.

sometimes it depends on the SS. i'd say your friend is right. usually if I buy one dress alone shipping is around $25+. add in extras and the price goes up a bit. add in shoes and it can get really expensive. sometimes if you're just trying to order a couple small things, just go with aliexpress to save. i only use taobao when I'm doing big bundle orders.

I wanted to post (my blog) a review of my experience with YoyBuy.
My order consisted of 20 items from 7 different sellers. I paid on 7/19, all of my items were purchased on 7/20. Everything arrived by 7/25. I paid shipping on 7/26, but had to pay an additional charge. I waited until Sunday the 30th at 10 PM to pay the balance. *2 hours later* my package was shipped out. I received it two days later, today. Goddamn, that is some breakneck speed. No interaction with them took more than 24 hours. Their English wasn't great but it was definitely sufficient. If you need things in a rush, I can't imagine a faster shopping service. The cart system and interface is easy to navigate.
There are a few things I'm grumbling about. I'm used to going with Buynosaur and I pay $67 for 2-3 day 5kg. I paid $95 for YoyBuys 2-3 day 4.2kg. Their calculator is not reliable. The additional charge was supposedly due to "volume" but I ordered light dresses and blouses. My package was not big or bulky. I've ordered shoes, coats, petticoats, etc and not had this happen with Buynosaur. Also, no photos for 10%. Buynosaur is 8% with photos and I normally pay via gift to save 3%.
My conclusion: If you need a relatively simple order at lightning speed and you're prepared to pay - YoyBuy is great. If you're patient and have complicated orders like preorders, custom cut lace, custom sizing etc I'd go with Buynosaur. Great shipping deals.

Yeah this is my thing with Yoybuy. They do their own currency conversion rate so depending on the international rate you may pay more but damn do your items get to them super fast. I've gotten so spoiled that waiting a full week for items (very rarily) is like torture because I'm used to in and out, package shipped 3-4 days from order date.

If you got DHL I think Yoybuy does tell you that they'll charge you either by weight or volume depending on what's bigger so their initial charge is via weight estimate but it's just that, an estimate.

I do love that Buynosaur shows you pics though but with Yoybuy I feel like I don't need them because they're pretty good about making sure your order is exactly what you ordered.

Do agree that Buynosaur is the better option for more customized orders though and I think they're the only ones that do secondhand Taobao as well?

Anyone know any good bras on taobao? I ordered this for a cosplay but holy crap it's awesome! I'm a 32A and have never really seen myself with boobs before this bra. (I've splurged with many brands before but for cosplay usually just end up wearing 2-3 at a time). Sadly it's really limited in colors/patterns. Anyone have sauce on similar ones that work?

I bought the Naked 2 palette off taobao years ago and it was total shit. Colors were flakey as fuck, smeared badly even with primer. Don't buy any type of skincare/makeup off taobao, really, don't. Their laws are different than ours, that's why the FDA steps in. Have you seen the exploding manhole covers? Or their "beaches"? I mean I guess brow pomade wouldn't be horrible but who knows what it's made of, and too close to your eyes for that matter.

This one is really nice! The skirt is a thick material and really comfortable, I like it because it's not too short either. The shirt isn't quite as nice quality as the skirt, there were a number of loose threads I noticed but nothing major. (it did come with the little badge in the stock photos too, I just forgot to take a picture of it). I think I'm going to pick up a set with the short sleeved shirt on my next order!

The only exception is if your clothes/accessories is already very heavy, then you might as well include it since the more you ship in large amounts = the less shipping costs overall.
