That's it for tonight, it was much harder to find skirt coords than I thought it'd be. Over 95% of the lolita pics I have saved are JSKs, OPs or coats.

I wish skirts were popular again. I remember seeing them a lot more in the first decade of the 2000's but it seems the importance of prints and having matching sets made them less popular.

I think it's also pricing. Skirts are more expensive than they used to be, but not as interesting most of the time? So why not toss some extra money on top, and just get the JSK instead. You know?

Yeah, once lolita started to really turn into a popularity contest, it seems like the appeal of skirts dropped massively. Most of the people I see wearing skirts tend to be more daily lolitas, because it's a lot easier to wear them casually, and you can wear a single skirt in a nearly infinite number of way with the right combinations of blouse and accessories. Since a lot of lolitas these days only really wear it to meets or cons, it makes sense that they'd want to be as extravagant as possible, and it doesn't matter if the dress can only really be worn in a single way.

Speaking as someone who wears lolita a lot, I don't really like skirt coords for every day because they have a tendency to look blocky and take more effort to coordinate in a way that looks good. I prefer long-sleeved OPs I can throw on and go. In lolita I like JSKs but I've noticed they're not very normie-friendly compared to skirts and OPs as visibly layering a lighter blouse under a dress is perceived as childish.

i think i disagree. i wear lolita around 5 days a week and i prefer JSKs because they're so easy to coordinate. a JSK does most of my work for me, which is ideal since i don't want to spend too much time fussing. meanwhile with skirts i have to worry more about the detail of the blouse, whether or not my chest area looks too empty, and if so what necklace i should wear to try and compensate for it.

I personally hate lighter shoes with darker tights. I think the colour balance is a bit blocky but it's because those tights are super dark, plain and opaque. Slightly sheerer tights to chime with the chiffon blouse and slightly larme feel of the coord would fix most of the balance issues. If I was going to put extra lav/light colours anywhere I'd do it in headwear or a choker.

It'd depend on your overall proportions but stretching out a cutsew like that and having your chest covered in skintight plain jersey fabric is only going to emphasise your massive boobs more (and desu look kind of lewd as well as often unflattering). I think using a bolero or something else slightly looser with a bit of detailing on the top half would work better.
