not sure if this is an aristo attempt or what...blacks need to match in a coord like this. even imagining this without the velvet coat: It's hard to see but it looks like the pants are a dark, warm black, while the jacket and vest are a cool dark grey. The jabot is also a different black.

My favorite thing about this is that cloak/coat. It's stunning. The worst offense is the shoes. They look terrible, even for normie shoes. The white rubber trainer sole is killing me.

as long as the same temperature of tone is used throughout it's fine.
the problem is she still put all these things together even though they don't look good together. the deep black of the coat makes the reflective brocade of the jacket stand out so much. the random white blouse and the terrible shoes on top of all this just means she has to try a little harder to make her coords look cohesive.

If that's a blouse, the lace is cheap and terrible, and the cut is wrong for Lolita, and the cross pendant and bow just look cheap and poor quality - as does the headdress.

I've seen a belt like that work before, but it doesn't work here because it's making her bunch weirdly on one side. If she had worn that over a sturdy corset that keeps her figure smoothed out then it would look fine.

Does she even have a petticoat on under that skirt?

Ripped fishnets are classic '80s Goth, not Gothic Lolita. At least the shoes and wrist cuffs are are fine.

She looks like a regular Goth trying to approximate Lolita on a budget, and is failing.

How I'd re-do this:
A short-sleeved blouse in a fabric similar to the skirt. Grosgrain bow with better quality cross pendant. Leave out the cincher if it's too hot to wear a corset. Plain black tights. Cannotier made of same fabric as skirt and theoretical blouse. Keep the shoes, do proper Gothic Lolita makeup, or at least well done Romantic Goth makeup.

Holy lantern is LANTERNS AND CROSSES (and wtf is up with that dress? Is that worst ever replica or what?) and those tights are PENTACLES. Those are two completely different motifs. Coat is lovely, but the open stance reveals the lining that seems 'antique gold' colour and clashes with the rest of the outfit. I don't know if it's off editing or what, but one of the legs of the trousers seems grey, and the other black. On my screen, the blacks match. Sleeves are a tad long for them. would have been better with a different jsk. half the styling is very classic and maturely beautiful, but the other elements don't fit. bloomers themselves aren't necessarily casual, but they look it compared to the other pieces. Even with added length from an underskirt it'd still look bad. biggest issue is the neckline. that blouse doesn't work with the jsk straps. it almost looks like she's wearing a back brace with how awkward the combination is. she seems to have a wide ribcage which might be adding to how uncomfortable the fit looks.

I met her a couple of years ago at an event in FL. Back then she wasn't showing boobs and she wore a blouse. Her coord was actually pretty nice. I saw some pictures of her afterwards, and her coords were always ok (although her face always gives me the cfeeps).
I met her again at an event back in May this year and her coord was terrible. Wearing a Haenuli dress that showed off her boobs. Lacking accessories and headdress. All her coords after that seem to be like that too. I guess the years in the fashion haven't helped her improve, but the exact opposite.
