I honestly just get excited either way since I get swept up in the moment of things when it comes to interests. Later once I'm home and have had time to calm down I might be a little envious if the bag was excellent but that would just aspire me to do better. If the bag isn't so good I usually (for like no reason at all) consider the bag on a similar level as mine and just feel like I have to try harder.

I'm jealous af and I don't like other people showing interest in my husbandos (especially my favorite one). But anyway, if I see a good bag I get competitive as someone said before. And if I see a not-so-good bag I just laugh. What irks me the most are bad cosplays of my husbandos.

I get REALLY FUCKING EXCITED, MAN. Really! Excited! The same kind of excited I get when I see a cosplayer or an AA booth with merch. I love my husbando, I am nothing but happy to geek out with other people who love him too.

He's not a common itabag character, so I've only ever seen two other bags for him. I actually founded a friendship with an awesome person because I saw their collection was even bigger than mine and I was wow'd. Now we send each other links when we find new merch (and when we make new merch, we're both AA artists). It's great!

I don't really care if someone's bag is better or worse than mine. Itabags are so personal, as long as you're having fun that's all that matters. If they ask for advice I'd be happy to give it, I'm very proud of my bag and on how hard I've worked to cultivate my collection and make it aesthetically pleasing. But also I'm more interested in the community aspect of shared interests than in fueling any kind of competitive craftsmanship rivalry, although I recognize the spirit of that is all in good fun.

Do all of the button makers on the guide accept copyrighted material? I know Art cow does but their quality is pretty crap from the last time I ordered.

The vast majority of my merch+figure collection is from Mandarake, I love them so much. Never had any issues with them, they've always replied my messages if I had any doubts and send out my packages quickly. My only "dislike" about them is having to navigate through a sea of doujinshi for more popular series because their categories aren't too well organized (I can specify the search to "toys" to get merch-only but I assume some items aren't well categorized because they won't show up unless I make a general search).

What would be a good kind of bag to display nesoburi in? I have two of the small keychain ones (about 4" long) and all I can think of is one of those clear tote bags with an insert, and sticking them at the bottom
I definitely don't want them hanging on the outside of the bag, I don't want them getting dirty or damaged.

I've used one for my husbando's bag, and I have a lot more I plan to use. It came with a thin plastic sleeve, I pinned through that and put some cardboard behind the card to keep it from bending. I also put a bit of clear packaging tape over the top to keep it from sliding out.

Been working on my second itabag for AX and I'm wondering if there's anything I can add to it to fancy it up more, or if I've already got enough going on with the bows and sequin ribbon.

My last bag had some fake flowers to fill space but also used silver chain that didn't blend very well, so I'm liking my new bag better in that regard. Maki is going on the other side, still working on positioning for Nico...

I'll probably re-do it later to arrange all the matching Nico/Maki straps together, but for the convention's sake I need to have them on separate sides for now.

I usually like my straps and charms to be orderly/in rows (see Nico further up) so nobody covers anyone else, but cluttered bags have a nice look to them as well. If they end up moving about or covering one another then maybe consider placement a bit more carefully if it bothers you.

Ballchains bother me and I would usually remove them as other anon does but I'm also kind of lazy about it...

I added a backdrop pattern in orange to hopefully out weight the pink. I also rearranged the pins and took out the large ditto plush so the bag didn't look so warped.

I might try the rosette thing but I honestly like how this looks for now.

FYI, Luxas came up with a new warehouse storage system today. It's going to be implemented at start of next month.

I find their warehouse system to be overly complicated and rather expensive. My struggle right now is:
- What kind of outfit (A dress or separates like a skirt and sweatshirt).

We can't really help you with this much detail since a lot of this comes down to personal preference? The cut of your top/dress completely depends on your shape and what looks good on you. I can't say I'd recommend a petti with any of those dress types tho. Also we don't know anything about whoever your character is so it's impossible to genuinely recommend any pattern suggestion with out just taking shots in the dark as to what would look good.

Sorry, I wasn't sure how much to add to it/ was seeing if there was a more generalized opinion on these things. My guy is Verde from KHR. I made this collage awhile back ago for a zipper pouch. I was thinking of redoing it for a clothing pattern (making everything either more uniform or adding more screenshots if I can).

And sadly I'm aware any of those skirt types really doesn't work with a petti, but those seemed like the best ones artsmoo has to offer. If anyone has personal experience with them in this area, I'd love to know what is most voluminous? I think Pearl Anon had used the regular skater skirt at the time (I think that was all that was available) and she was able to get a small poof. (And if it helps at all, I'm a pretty standard hourglass figure/ I've got some chub here and there, but its mostly in my thighs, so the fuller skirt can cover that)

Beginner's question I couldn't answer from reading the FAQ. I'm considering making my first ita bag, but not based around a single character but instead a theme + color. I really like idols and magical girls, so I'm probably going to go with one of those two themes. Color is tripping me up though. I really like pink, but the thought of buying a pink bag and then trying to match a bunch of pink merchandise to it is giving me serious pause, knowing how difficult it is to match pinks, and knowing I'm probably going to be going with a few different characters in my bag. I don't want to end up with a "pink idol" itabag with a ton of mismatched warm and cool pinks. Should I pick a color that's easier to match, or stick with a single character (who is more likely to have a consistent color palette in their merch)?

You are about to spend several hundred dollars on merchandise. You should ask yourself what you love so much you want to spend that much money on it, and then work backwords to the general aesthetics of the bag after making that decision. looking for opinions... working on an all might bag and can't decide on a base bag. i love shoulder bags for ease of carrying/so i can see my merch, but the star bag feels a little more in-character. what do you think?

I always liked the look of the star bags but not specifically the ones in your pic. The ones in your pic, because the starts come to a sharp point instead of a rounded one, I feel like can be difficult to have merch be visible. Some people really make it work though.

Nayrt, but you brush them with mod podge on both sides, making sure to completely seal it in, then you use resin to "dome" them.

The sticker is PVC/vinyl, all I did was stick it down to the plastic surface and make sure there were no bubbles before adding my resin. Any material that can be "ruined" with water can apply to resin. If using paper stickers, I suggest a coat of clear mod poge before adding resin.

i would love some color advice for a nameko saibai bag...

pic related reflects the merch colors well (mostly brown with a lot of accent colors).

I'm probably going to use a salus messenger bag and line the pouch with a subtle green patterned fabric, but im not sure what color to choose for the bag itself.

Koume-itabag anon here again! I just recieved a little more merch for my bag and did a re-arrange! I also added a red backdrop that I had been thinking of adding. Next I'll get on crafting some decorations for the outside of the bag! I am so happy about how this bag looks atm!

Finished the Maki side today. Sorry for bad lighting, my apartment is dark.

Anyway I have less Maki than Nico but I think this side filled out pretty ok in comparison to Nico's side. I'll be cosplaying Nico at AX with this bag because of course Nico would have an itabag of herself, so feel free to say hi if you see me.

Aaand if anyone has any idea for Maki that is similar to the bows I add for Nico, then let me know. I tried to find something star or music related to add to the handles but couldn't really think of anything...

I'm planning on making a double sided bag for a character, with one side decorated with regular merch and the other side with merch of the actor that plays him in theatre. However, a lot of the actor's merch is photographs. Could I request inspo pics of bags with photographs used as decoration? I think I've seen a TouRabu bag with a photo before but it was just one and in a frame, I'd probably be using more photos.
Also, how would you go about pinning the photographs? Are there any strong sleeves for photos? Should I laminate them and glue a pin to the back?

It's done! This mini bag became a challenge of if I could make a decent looking bag with mostly things I gathered from the dollar store. I had two days to make it (I'm traveling this weekend) so I'll definitely make a better and more dedicated bag when I'm not immediately traveling. I have a normal base coming for my main bag, but I have a couple less popular character I want to make mini bags/pencil cases for since there's very little merch. It this a thing that even exists? There's two styles on Amiami, but orders are closed on most of the colors. You can search ita flat pen pouch or ita-pen pouch, which are the two styles. In flat they only have black and white available right now, and the ita-pen pouch only has red.

I used the yellow version of this for my Tenga merch. I think it is cute for display, but the outer fabric feels really soft so I don't feel comfortable using it as a pencil case. There is a red one available on amiami.

I threw the others on there because I was gifted multi-character button sets on two different occasions so since I had them, figured...what the hey.
