This is a great idea for a thread. I wish I had something to post in it.

The last thread was fantastic, With Gropey lending his historic expertise to everyone's posts and questions.
Hoping for more OC.

I might be able to contribute content, but need specific examples of what you're looking for. What elements make up baroque/gorgian inspired ouji to you?
>>9528785
Tricorner hats, waistcoats, georgian design florals, powdered wigs, buckled shoes...

The last thread inspired me to start working on an eighteenth century inspo'd cord, but I have nothing work showing yet.
Have some classic Gropey.
Bump!

I really want to do a Georgian naval/pirate sort of look but I'm struggling to find references. I don't like most ouji pants and prefer 18th century kneebreeches. I have an exact image in my head of what I want (used to study 18thc. history) but I'm struggling to find good picture references online.

GOD DAMN IT WHERE IS THAT CLOWN?!
Any diyers with some reliable patterns?
Any gender is fine.
Have a hastily searched pick for dealing with my inquiry.
>>9530094
What are you looking for patterns for? I do historic costume and have a ton (I skew towards the end of Georgian/early to mid-Regency, though).
>>9527298
yeah senpai let's see if i have anything new
>>9530585
i do not
not organized, anyway
i will return
Anyone got the archive link to the old thread?

For some silly reason for my first ever corset I decided to make one from the early/mid 18th century lol I used "Stays and Corsets: Historical Patterns Translated for the Modern Body" by Mandy Barrington. It's really cool 'cause they'll take the pattern and stuff from an existing, historical garment. It shows you how to draft it to your own measurements too.
If you've never made a corset before there is a lot of information missing, like about seam allowances and ways to go about binding the edges, so I just had to look at a few other sources. It turned out really well though! I can post some WIP pics if anyone is interested.

search for "rococo punk" in subject line, that should bring it right up
>>9530259
Historical costuming is one of my hobbies. I have several books on the subject but would like to try my hand on construction. It's been easier to find later centuries (Victorian and on) and the renaissance in my one horse town, but I want to find reliable sources of earlier periods too.

Thanks, I'll look it up.
Hello hello! Had a few anons tell me this was going on.
Right now, I am a little busy helping my girlfriend move, so I wont be of much help until sunday evening or so. I'll upload some fashion plates and pattern PDFs when I can.
Otherwise, nothing new on my end. I finally got all the Indian silk for my new macaroni outfit, and need to start patterning.
Dumping a few pics from a cute historic get together

"The Cut of Women's Clothes" (there's several volumes out there for different eras) is the most common book I've used. It shows you pattern pieces and garments which really helps you understand construction if you're draping/flat patterning.
For patterns... I like Laughing Moon though I've always altered the patterns I used from them (mostly tweaks but I can't speak to the vanilla patterns). Redthreaded is amazing, I love my Sense & Sensibility patterns. American Duchess has some great looking patterns but I haven't tried them out yet. The sole encounter I've had with the "true" Baroque era I draped & patterned myself so if you'd like advice on that front I can help.

I adore this, but is she wearing a petti...?
>>9532947

>>9532948
Maybe its a small petti? She's sitting down. Either way, I don't care if people use less petti in historical coordinates. The rest of the outfit is fine.
