Let's talk about cosplayers selling prints of their costumes.

How do you feel about it in general?
How do you feel about "sexy" cosplayers who sell images of minimal quality "cosplays"?

Picture related.

If there's an audience willing to pay for it that's all that matters. For example those asian cosplayers that come to America have a bunch of prints and books people are willing to fork over money for. Even better if they get an autograph and a selfie too. They'd be leaving money on the table for not having merch available to buy.

There is only one cosplayer whose photos are worth paying for. She even has photobooks for purchase!

it's shit but at least people oppose it; that's what we need more of. these women typically have no jobs and just mooch off of their parents or affluent betas, the latter of whom also double as security. every time someone points out how photoshopped their pics are or how unattractive the girl actually is, these guys roll in to defend her. so really the best remedy is to mock and exclude the weak males that enable these thots. enough social pressure and ridicule and they'll shut up. after that you can basically push these stupid women to suicide if need be, but they'll more than likely crawl off on their own.
>>
>>9518113
What a pathetic person you must be if you seriously think like this.
>>
>>9518125
Didn't using the word beta tip you off?

The whole thing reads like some Ode to Loneliness. It's like a performance art.

I'm sorry no one wanted to buy your prints.

So did that cosplayer girl not immediately want to fuck you even after you bought her print? You did hover over her table for an uncomfortably long time, right? And she was polite AND smiled? And still she didn't want to have sex with you?
>>
>>9518249
B-b-but I asked her her thoughts on obscure mecha anime from the 70s a-and she still wouldn't give me a blow job???? What else can I do to prove to her what an alpha ubermensch I am??
>>
In retrospect, kind of wish this had been around when I was in college. I used cut outs from costume photoshoots from a ballet magazine in a ROYGBIV pattern to decorate my wall.

Doing that with like some high-res sakizou cosplay or some other intricate cosplay arranged by color would have looked neat.
>>
I think selling and buying prints of cosplayers is stupid, cringy, and a way to stroke how much of an attention whore they are for the cosplayer, and shows how much of a creeper you are as the buyer. However while I tend to think lower of them doing so and avoid their tables, if they actually make money doing it, all the power to them.

this is what came into my mind when I saw that picture

Same.
Cringey as all get out. I do think less of them but I'm never gonna said don't do it. It's their life. They can make all the poor choices they want as buyer and seller.
>>
>>9518332
I own Cosplay in America's book which is in the same vein. It's a cool bit of Americana that's interesting for the coffee table in a geek chic kinda way.

Prints of a single person are odd yes, but I am not fully opposed to the idea of cosplay "merch".

You have a weird definition of sexy, OP.
>>
>>9523499

how this?
>>
Always feel like they're pretentious and self obsessed. When they say "friends" they mean "buyers" that just isn't how cosplay used to be.
>>
>>9523505
>reptile
>with mammaries

I don't think that's how it works.

...but I'm intrigued.
>>
>>9523582
Er, have you played any Elderscrolls games? The games that that person is cosplaying from?
Pic related- Skyrim

I think it's retarded, but capitalism is an unstoppable force. Whatever activates their almonds.

I don't know much TES lore but I assume there's a reason behind it, just like how there's a reason behind anthropomorphic lizard people existing in the first place.
>>
>>9523505
That's uncanny but even with all the photoshop I kinda like it. They clearly put a lot of work into setting up the shot.
>>
>>9523601
Nirn (The planet the games take place on) isn't even in our solar system. There doesn't need to be that much lore to explain it.
It's really not that deep, senpai.
>>
>>9523595
Nope, 60 hour games like that seriously cut into my 4chan time.
>>9523601
Probably not. Just scalie fetishists.

>>9523603
Yeah, I have to admit, it's miles better than most of the photography posted here.
>>
>>9523510
It's just cringe especially if they are mediocre...have some dignity
>>
>>9523499
The book she's holding is an in-game porn joke.

There are intelligent trees with magic skill in genetic manipulation living in a swamp. They are curious about all these two-legged things that keep running around. So the trees modify some small marsh lizards into resonable copies of the two-legged things. Lizard two-legs go out and look at the world and the trees eavesdrop on their thoughts.

There's all kinds of different media people sell prints for, so the idea of cosplay prints fits in well. I personally don't see the appeal in buying cosplay prints. I would buy cool fanart before I bought a cosplay print. I could see myself buying them from a cosplayer I liked that was at a convention. I think it's cool to meet them and have them sign it in person. I think some of them are a bit overpriced for quality and sizes though.
But it's starting to look like the days of making actual money off of selling autographed prints and other things like that are over. It's a bit too much of an effort to set up and maintain a print shop for something that isn't going to make you much money. It's all about those patreon lewds now.
>>
>>9523505
the unhemmed dress looks like shit but Lizard Tiddy cracked me up, 10/10
>>
>>9517786
Normally I think they're stupid and that the people who purchase them are weird stalkers, but I feel like I could get behind buying lizard tiddy photo prints. As long as they weren't 15... I'd pay 10.

But as an artist I love it, since they take up booth space and decrease competition having that space since my stuff is way different.
>>
>>9517786
I'd like that pic if the neck wasn't just green, is it that hard to add neck scales if you're going to sell prints?
>>
>>9518113
White boys are so pathetic god damn
>>
>>9530310
Oooookay.
>>
>>9517786
If Western cosplay photography hasn't been so stale I honestly would be for it. But that means actually putting in effort into photoshoots and not giving the same boring bodyshots. I saw an artist alley this year with a guy selling photo prints of figures that were very atmospheric and were something I would put money on and I wish cosplayers put the same effort in. All the current prints I've seen is the same mediocre shit of dead eyed girls trying to look sexy on some con bedroom or a bland standing pose. I honestly like photobooks like the ones Japanese cosplayers make when it isn't just pantyshots but there's no market for it and anyone who tried to make one would probably be crucified for being incredibly vain.

desu, at this stage, I'd smash.
Crackling, husky voice and all.
