I want to cosplay Toru. I have no idea how I'm going to do it but I want to.

Aizawa is my next project because he's one of my favorites. I dread the jumpsuit a little bit, though. They're often unflattering.

the quality of japanese cosplayers are always top notch but it always annoys me how they almost never do any sort of expressions that matches their character.

its almost always "serious straight face" no matter what the character is.
im guessing they really cant express themselves that much because most of them have fucked up teeth so they are too embarrassed to open their mouths.

I'm cosplaying Toga and Tsuyu this summer,and I'm thinking Hatsume Mei for next year. Will be fun to do her hair bananas.

Agreed. I think my friend is just planning on going with a separate shirt & pants for it. And I honestly cannot tell if the dark grey around his waist is a belt or small pouches.
Also, how do you plan on doing his neck bandages? We can't decide if having it look stiffer or more droopy would look better.

Nice! I haven't seen a lot of cosplays of Hatsume. Her hair has always confused me, but I've seen a couple that look pretty good!

I prefer his bandages to be more dimensional. Using Crinoline or a thin wire stitched in it should leave me the option of sculpting how I want them to sit + the ability to pose them upwards if I so wanted.

I'm a big fan of Tokoyami, and wanted to know people's opinions on how to go about this head.

Honestly, every Tokoyami I've seen looks really tragic. I wanted to take a semi-realistic approach with his head like pic attached, but would that be straying too far from how cartoony he's supposed to look?

The foam base heads just look super cheap and ugly.

I think that'd look really cool, to be honest. Most Tokoyami cosplays I've seen end up looking to flat and awkawrd, like >>9474286

I haven't seen a lot of decent ones, but overall Tokoyami's design doesn't seem to translate too well in reality. Going for a more semi-realistic look might work out well, though!

I wish you luck! We definitely need more Tokoyami cosplays, birdbro is the best.
