Actually her parents are a part of her life. They just let her be free with exploration probably because she does the little tantrum " it's not a phase mom, it's who I really am". My mother was like that when I hit my goth phase. She let me explore and discover who I was at her age. It's really not uncommon. All she has is the internet so what she sees is all she knows. Tumblr isn't a good place for impressionable teens because they only give ass pats and make you feel weird and wrong for being straight or your assigned gender. I'm sure once that awkward discovering herself phase wears off she will find where she belongs. She's clean and her appearance is that of someone who does take care of them selves.
