Yeah the lips is another thing that bothered me in the first one, the extra red above the cupids bow and beneath the lower lip honestly just look like bruising - as if she's tried to stick her lips in a bottle and sucked to keep it stuck on resulting in that.
I personally dont like to use red shades around the eyes because it looks like you've been crying for a week or like you have hayfever, but that's just me.

I really really dislike the drawn eyebrow shapes. Especially for Levi. It looks so cartoony. Even if the makeup is clean, I don't get why everyone finds Reika hot. Before I knew anything about this character, this style actually made me dislike the face/design. I only realized after the fact that it's like people are taking the one expression he makes most of the time and permanently painting it on instead of accentuating their features and using their muscles to express themselves.

It doesn't surprise me. Most professional makeup artists honestly don't do the greatest makeup. The few times I've seen a professional, they've only managed to make me look worse then I already look.

It seems most professionals default to the all around eyeliner, heavy mascara, lipstick, and maybe a hint of eye shadow haphazardly thrown on the eye area. I cannot forget the caked on foundation. I think much money is made off selling products, so they just throw it all out there.

Right? I went to a professional studio thing to get makeup done twice, once for prom, the other for a wedding. Both times, they really fucked me up. They both made me several shades darker than I was, saying I was "too pale, darling, you need to GLOW" and then the foundation oxidized so I looked even more retarded and sunburned. For prom, she gave me some weird curly winged eyeliner that made me look absolutely ridiculous, when I asked for a straight one. The eyeshadow was okay. But for the wedding, I ended up with some 90s ass lookin frosty silver garage doors on my eyelids.

I agree, its ugly, but that is pretty much exactly how that character's makeup looks. Plumeria is literally white trash from a trailer park, she clearly looks like what the Pokemon company thinks trashy white girls look like: too much makeup in the wrong colours, wears tracksuit bottoms with a sports bra in public, has an inadvisable lower abdomen tattoo, bosses the neoghborhood kids and her wangster alcoholic boyfriend around... Shitty makeup is very on brand for her, desu.

Also, I'm not a fan of her wig at all. If you're going to do Team Skull Plumeria, get a lace front and give her that crazy slicked parting, at least right at the front. This wig would work for the character's postgame look if the cosplayer had put a bandanna on it, but right now, all the volume around her face just looks wrong.

Did you go back to those trailers on Ula'Ula Island near the Desert in the post-game? Plumeria is chilling there. Turns out the lady who was there during the game is probably her Mom or Grandma. Considering that Pokemon SuMo was full of American stereotypes and that team skull was made of sad, disenfranchised young people who failed at the trial challenge, it makes sense as a backstory for her.

Also, she really doesn't look Gyaru? The white circles are a bit Ganguro, I guess, but that look hasn't been popular for a decade. Plus, she's really not tan enough, and her clothes aren't right. Olivia or Mallow's designs, on the other hand, could be influenced by Gyaru.
