I'm disappointed in this community for making this fucking happen. This whole thing is a waste of time, another platform for elites and shit shows like MooMoo to get 'followers' and basically do nothing to help the actual community. Nothing about this is worthy of a single app that we don't already have 1000 other apps to us.
What are your thoughts, gulls? I know I made a post about this a month ago, but here we are. Its fulfilled.
Not surprised really. Get all the cosfamous idiots shilling this B.S. while the cosplayers and Martin don't have to donate to fund it, and they get to use the money to go drinking at cons like they always do.
Meanwhile the idiot cosplayers can brag about how they helped the community by supporting this like they do with every other B.S. "cause" or feel-good movement.

What bugs me the most is that he has said he has been making this app for years and just now he posts this. So I'm curious about what the money is for. OS testing or what? If he has been making it for years then shouldn't he have been able to test it out though programs to see if it would work on different phones [Apple/Google Play] because that how you develope these apps.
So, if he isn't at that point yet, I can understand, but he basically said this app is done.. So Where is the money going, Martin?
>>9414792
Most crowd funding things are more successful if the project is near completion as to prevent backlash if you can't deliver. That being said you still usually want to get a little attention as you progress like Yandere Simulator so you already have some people unboard
>>9414787
Bunch of fucking idiots who think they will be cosfamous someday so supporting this is a stepping stone to that, in the same way some minimum wage red-state yokel votes against their own interests because they see themselves as a "temporarily destitute millionaire". People support shit they imagine they'll be rather than seeing thing for what they are. Sadly plenty of damn fools with their money, ready to be parted.
Goddamn you guys have hate to the max. I mean I don't expect it to do any good for normal people and posted critically about it in the previous thread but damn ya'll are just straight mad as fuck
I honestly don't get it. If it's to make friends why have all this incentive to get your 'shouts' seen by as many people as possible. Why have rewards and gain xp? So more people see your shit? How does that help you connect with people and make friends? Am I missing something here??
>>9414760
I've never even heard of this before in my life
>>9415752
Martin is trying to make an app for people to find friends, make connections to photographers, follow cosplay personalities. Basically Facebook/Twitter/Cospix. So its like.. A waste of time and the only people who will benefit are the personalities.
Nigri and the fellow clones will shill the shit out of it, so it will be super popular but then everyone will forget about it after awhile just like everything else.
Has anyone heard of this Cosmunity app? I've been seeing it around a couple different places, doesn't sound as if it would hold a candle any longer than any other site or app has.
>>9415883
I don't see how any of these are different than Cosplay Amino
>>9414976
Obviously hater: "I know I made a post about this a month ago, but here we are. Its fulfilled."
Did Martin steal your girl?

I'm only getting $22,831 from those pledges though?
I'm curious, what kind of apps would cosplayers like to see rather than things like this?
>>9421419
To be honest, there isn't really much I would want that isn't already available. Everything that I use already has a mobile app for itself, so... That's why I'm so confused about this app. There is absolutely nothing about it that is new besides "WOW YOU GET BADGES", but shouting isn't any different than checking-in to a place or notifying Twitter or other social medias where you are to your followers. Like another anon said, this is only another way to follow elites without anything else to it. That's why those are the people pedaling this shitty app.
Ahahaha, do you idiots think that actual cosfamous people will try to use this to gain more fans? It's a location based app, there won't be millions of people seeing any one "shout" or whatever. This makes it useless to the cosfamous, it just won't have the numbers they want.
If this app gets popular, it will add a whole new social dynamic to cons. You'll be able to walk in to a con alone and, rather than possibly walking out with a couple new friends, walk out with an entirely new squad of people who have the same interests as you.
This app will literally revolutionize the convention-going experience and yet all you attention seekers can think about it "muh cosfamous people." Get a grip.
Have you even thought of the other possibilities besides making friends? Think of the live updates that congoers will be posting. "So-and-so booth is giving out swag right now!!" "Super cool mech suit cosplayer near the fountain taking pictures with people now!" "Party at room # tonight." Using this app, you're much MUCH less likely to miss cool shit that's going on at the con. This is, of course, assuming the user base is large enough. I think it'll get hugely popular fast, because most congoers will see the potential this app has.
Martin Wong is transforming the con scene for the better. ~But oh no!- Muh cosfamous!~
>>9418053
I made the post anon. I'm the OP. No. This is a useless app and a lot of us were hoping the community wasn't dumb enough to fall for this like they did for other dumb things like CosBox. Doesn't help though that people like Stell and Nigri shilled this out.
>>9421447
You can't see this shit unless you follow the person and they add you as a friend though, so calm down anon. Also, people already do this stuff on Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, other forms of communication. This app wouldn't make it any different. I sure do hope they use it for parties though, so that if they do become public, I can call the hotels on you fucks.
Also, if you can't get friends through the means available right now, then this sure as hell wouldn't change that either. Most people already have their squad or are anti-social, hand you a card.. etc.
This is really only going to benefit people who do meetups, ie. cosfamous people. You are reading too far into it anon to try and find something good about it that isn't already accessible through other means already. Thats the problem with social apps. There isn't that much of a difference between them and the ones that are different enough to stand out already exist. This isn't anything new.
>>9421447
Okay Martin.
>>9421457
The difference between this and other social apps is that EVERYONE will be centralized on this one app, rather than spread out over Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, discord, or whatever. If people want to meet friends or read a local feed about the con, all they have to do is use Shout Around.
You also mentioned meet ups- Shout Around will be perfect for this. One post i.e. "Animal Crossing cosplay meetup at 5pm today in the lobby" and now everyone can be there. I know tons of cosplayers and fans who never know about meetups because they don't use a million social media sites or they aren't fans of traditional social media. This con-focused app will greatly benefit people in the same fandom who want to hold a meet up. ~ "But oh no- the cosfamous might hold a meet up!!! Oh no this really affects me a lot!!" ~
>>9421477
>[n addition to beng] spread out over Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, discord or whatever, you should also check this app, provided the brand/organiser/con/whoever you were interested in made an account on here and is broadcasting
nayrt btw. If this thing at least has some kind of feed aggregator that pulls info from other social media I'd be on it. But if it's yet another platform. Hard sell, man.
>>9421477
Ahaha good luck getting conventions to use this and not their own apps that some of them already have for this purpose of spreading information. As well as their Twitters, Facebooks.. No convention is going to want to use this over what they already have. Especially if they have their own app.
>One post i.e. "Animal Crossing cosplay meetup at 5pm today in the lobby" and now everyone can be there.
Better hope these are approved by staff before people just make up their own meetups which I know a lot of them will do. They will be asked to move because of fire hazard warnings and such.
>I know tons of cosplayers and fans who never know about meetups because they don't use a million social media sites or they aren't fans of traditional social media.
I highly doubt this. The convention scene, especially for anyone who cosplays, already uses social media. Saying that you 'know tons' of people who don't is so highly exaggerated in this media age. Hell, even my 93 year old grandfather uses social media.
You are so stuck on this cosfamous thing, but this will do nothing to help. Seeing a flood of 4k people attending a convention with posts isn't going to do shit to help anyone. It'll turn into a Twitch chat feed without anyone able to actually grasp anything that is happening.
>>9421477
>You also mentioned meet ups-
Most conventions have posters with meetup times and places all around the convention and help stations for questions like these.
People are seriously paying high tiers for these icons which are nothing special in the slightest. You just have the icon. I'd assume you can photoshop the watermarks off and since you can most likely pick a photo to use for your avatar, just use the unwatermarked version and its as if you payed $50.
>>9421481
>>9421483
>>9421486
I don't even know where to begin with knocking down these awful arguments.
Con apps usually don't have social features, just con information.
Meet ups are often organized by fans, not the convention itself.
If you all are against progress, then go ahead and ignore Shout Around. But when it releases, everyone else will have their convention experience revolutionized.
>>9421493
>whoops
>>9421494
Martin, this isn't going to 'revolutionize' anything. There are too many congoes who are actually a part of the community already who have their set friends. We dont have a hard time finding people with the same interests because we know most attendees already have the same interests we do, we just don't care about getting to know them all and walking out of a convention with 900 more 'friends' vs people we met and already forget because we just don't care.
As for normies, they won't use this app. I guarantee it, so you can rule them out.
If you are cosplaying something, most people go out of their way before conventions to learn about meetups. This hasn't been an issue at all over the past decade for most people and while they are usually fan created meetups, they usually ask convention permission [some have rules about meetups] to have specific areas dedicated to the meetups before the convention arrives because of safety reasons and some places, fire codes.
You are trying way too hard to find positives in Shout when something already exists.
>>9421495
jfc the watermarks aren't even top of the avatars
>>9421494
.....All I did was ask how this was supposed to replace checking twitter, insta, facebook, discord, etc etc instead of being yet another app that we have to check.
Do the organizing fans have to sign up for an account? Or can you input their individual twitter, facebook, insta, discord, etc and then the app does the hard work of checking everything for you? Because if you can, I'm hopping on.
If those organizers I want to follow need to make their own account on shout, yeah, I'm going to wait until they do, because if they don't, what am I checking? I still have to follow them on insta, twitter, facebook, discord, etc etc even after installing shout, since they aren't posting the meetup info on shout.
You see my point?
>>9421447
Calm down Martin
Martin, or one of his friends, sure is butthurt about a handful of anons on 4chan saying that this app might not be popular.
I mean does anyone even MiiTomo anymore?
