Probably a good idea. Keep anything that's not on expiration like the dictionary, budgeting, etc. I think stuff like the Shopping Services and maybe even the New Stores sheets could be dropped. The New Stores one depends on how many of the shops are necro'd and if it's been updated lately.

Yeah we should compile some reviews for different SS here and add them to a new doc. Here's some of my experiences:

Yoybuy: overpriced but is very speedy with their service. I had a bad time when one of my packages has to be resent since they never updated me about having to reship it.

Basetao: great service and free product photos. They always order very quickly and will do returns and preorders for you.

Pruany (2014) - Good people, refund really quickly, no complaints, and if you have money left they refund it. Ships very quickly.
Downside that their English is mediocre , I wouldn't get something pre-ordered or custom made.

From my experience

Bhiner : fast communication, even faster refunds, but take time to ship your order, and you must keep an eye and communication to make sure everything arrived to them.

Buynosaur : very friendly, but very slow, BIG lack of communication (exasperating), and there's a big chance they fuck up something in your order (size, color...). They try to give you a "coupon" instead of a direct refund. But they're cheap.

Yoybuy : Really professional now, they have paypal again and they're really fast.

Yoybuy: uses their own conversion rate so it's a bit more expensive depending on the Paypal rate. Has Paypal again, I had no issues paying for my order. Everything arrived in like 3 days and my order was shipped in under a week.

Buynosaur: Excellent customer service but is a 2-3 employee operation so they get overwhelmed quickly. Has amazing shipping discounts and perfect for non-rush orders and secondhand shopping.

Last thread had a few posts about the forwarding service (we referred to it as taobao direct in that thread) so check the archives. I've had a good experience with it but would not recommend doing reservations/deposit orders unless you know Chinese. Talking to the seller is not a part of the forwarder's job so if anything in your order needs to be communicated to the seller it's on you to contact them.

New store spreadsheet anon here, progress is being made! As of right now over 160 dead store links removed in total, including some who just simply became completely different unrelated stores.

A couple highlights:

>sexy lingerie store that now only sells waterbottles bc they couldn't figure out why you're all so thirsty
>multiple shops that decided to drop everything and start selling pricey designer childrenswear
>shop entirely empty except a picture of a photoshopped cubic poodle

That said, I'm also adding a section for review links for (so far only) the cosplay section. If you've posted reviews on here in the past, aside from those in the last thread, would you mind passing along the archive link to the thread in question? Either for cosplay shops or just specific listings, both are great. Will consider adding this feature for other sections later if anyone wants

I don't think the individual sheets are necessary. I know I've never used them, I just used the main sheet to compare service rates and compare shopping services to each other.

If you got rid of the individual sheets it'd take a load off of trying to upkeep it. We post more than enough reviews/suggestions in the threads that all it takes is one Ctrl+F to find the same information you'd get from the individual sheets without relying on information/reviews that are years old.

People only really go on about "shitty small orders" because when it comes to taobao you end up getting screwed over for shipping costs if you don't wait and make it worth it for a larger order. If you're just starting out though, turning to Clobba, especially for a smaller order, is really no grave sin. Just know you're probably gonna be overpaying a for bit for those items due to clobba markup+shipping, but as long as you're aware and okay with that, it can be worth it to make a small order through them just to get your toes wet, so to speak, until you're more confident and know what you're doing

An SS won't be able to charge you intl shipping until the item is physically present and they can weigh it. However, all SS I have used have charged me the full amount of the item (not just the deposit) and domestic shipping from the get-go. I've used Buynosaur for pre-orders (they're very friendly but can sometimes be unreliable for timing) and Taobao Trends recently. Both were decent experiences.

Pruany's really testing me. For days, sometimes up to a week, they don't respond to my questions, update my order, or ship out my packages until I submit a ticket and the manager responds within hours. I think they've replaced one of the regular employees with someone who's English is even worse and is especially absentminded. Today they asked me to confirm a color for a custom order I made a month ago, the same color that I specified the day I made the damn order!

But it's not like I can really do anything about it at this point. If you guys would like, some time next month I'll try using TaobaoAge and let you know how it goes.

I hate to be the obligatory person asking about shipping in every thread but I'm worrying myself sick.

The last two times I ordered from Taobaoring with EMS my orders got here within a few days of being shipped, no issues. Super quick. This time it's been marked as "Departed from export office" since last week. It hasn't said it's even reached the US yet. Should I be worried or is this just a case of postal workers being lazy and not updating tracking?

They ordered the wrong set of items from a seller, which I didn't find out about until the package arrived. It took 2 weeks for them to finally agree that it was the staff's mistake and agree to a refund (after asking for pictures multiple times after I had sent them). I asked if they would refund a portion of the EMS shipping I paid and they said no, only the costs of goods. Okay I'll post pictures for the wigs now!
Starting with the brown one (also, this is the point where I regret doodling all over my styrofoam head, woops)

This wig is super pretty imo, the picture doesn't really do it justice, but the color is great, it looks really realistic, it's soft and the curls are adorable
The inside of the wig is really nice and not like, just net or whatever, like cheap wigs tend to have sometimes.
All in all, for the price, I'd give it a 10/10.

It looks a bit messy in the picture, but that's because I didn't brush it because I'm lazy, and I dont' like brushing wigs when I'm not going to be using them

Only down side is that you probably have to cut it a bit. For me that isn't a problem but if you are scared of cutting wigs, keep that in mind

It's nowhere near as pretty as in the product picture, and the colors are kind of a mess. Again, I did kind of expect this, since this is usually the case with multicolored wigs, but it's still kinda disappointing.

This wig was a lot shinier too, and it was pretty thick so it doesn't really look very realistic
With some styling and cutting, I think it can look a lot better than in these pictures, but this is what you get.

Still not that expensive, but it's a bit heavier because of the volume, and that makes shipping a bit more.

Overall, I'd rate it 6/10, it's not awful, but compared to other wigs I've gotten from taobao it'snot that great

Has anyone here ordered from Taobaoring lately? Last order I did for a friend we ended up with a somewhat damaged shoe (pearl brooch thing was ripped off) and two pairs that had one size wiped off and another written down.

Filled a ticket but I haven't heard anything back yet since I sent in pictures and had to clarify the potential shadyness about the shoe sizing.

Not too put out as the brooch can be repaired hopefully and the shoes re-sold. I'm just more curious as to wtf is going on and if anything like that has happened before.

Yoybuy charges $1.85 per shop standard but will honor shops that advertise free shipping if you make a remark. They'll also tell you if the shop charges more than the $1.85. Some people complain the $1.85 is overcharging but no lie, my stuff gets to them in 24-48 hours 90% of the time while the other services I use it takes like a full week to get most of my items.

This may be a long shot, but does any one have experiences ordering from Taobao while living in Japan?
I moved here a month or so ago and while I heartily enjoy having brand stores only 20 minutes away from me, I do not want to pay brand prices for everything and am missing my Taobao fix.

I found a bunch of odd little taobao shops taking deposits for Krad Lanrete's Versailles dress. Seems like the dress is getting replicated, the selling price of 418 yuan is way too low for them to be selling original stock.

Basically just a warning for those who shop secondhand taobao that there's replicas of the taobao brands as well now, so be careful, I guess.

I found a really nice store with dirt cheap clothing and ended up buying so much shit. I just ordered a total of 103 items. 48 of which are clothing from the same store. The rest are multiples of small items like stockings, wig caps and a couple of wigs.

I do not know yet how much it weighs and I have a bad feeling it's over 20kg.

I'm so glad I ordered all this ridiculous stuff. The rose wallet is my absolute favorite already.

The sizing for my Haruka costume is big/long but I'm getting it hemmed and tucked. The only downside in this order is the Love Moonrise bag. The zipper barely opens and then gets stuck on something. Also my pink tote came super wrinkled.
