Not in Vancouver, but I saw a few types at Fabricana in Richmond last week; they had a nice shiny one and a matte type too. I also saw a slightly thicker one (probably for leggings, they had light fleece on one side) at Fabricland in New West.

I hate how hit and miss Dressew is, but on occasion they do have it, you just have to check both the vinyl/upholstery and spandex section because it's often mis-shelved.

For those of you who attended comic con this weekend, how was it?
>>

I found a couple of neat things i couldn't resist buying but other than that there wasn't much content for my weeb interests. I did catch the Swordplay show, that was pretty fun. I felt bad for the parents who weren't warned and had to shuffle their kids out when the actors started making dick jokes lol. Other than that I was walking around taking photos of costumes, of which there were a lot of good ones.

How goes the Otakuthon Airbnb/hotel reservations? The prices this year are insane... Fuck Osheaga.
I've never airbnb'd before. It easy to room stuff an airbnb or switch occupants? The cheap ones have all been sniped already and I don't want to commit to a 500$ strict cancellation policy room without some kind of guarantee I can get my money back.

>Friends all have their rooms planned

>It easy to room stuff an airbnb or switch occupants?
Depends on the place, read the individual reviews. For some places, the owners will live right in the basement apartment or some shit when you're renting a house, so that they're available for inquiries/assistance.

Others are so hands off they're not even in the city when you're around. Last time I stayed at an airbnb, the dude just texted me a code to unlock a lockbox with the housekeys and I didn't hear from him all weekend. At the end of our stay, housecleaners arrived at 11:00 sharp (checkout time) and that was that, never even saw the dude.
>>

My friends and eye got a good place to stay for about 40$ each last semesters, too bad they screwed us over and didn't want to refund us via Airbnb, wanted to do it via bank transfer
Weirdly enough, his GF owned the place, but his girlfriend was out of the country (egypt or somefuck) and she did not have Wi-Fi to message us. Weird weekend.
Luckily for us, we live in the city, just sucks carrying all your shit back and forth though.

I'm gonna be moving to Vancouver Island this summer, is Anirevo any good? I'm kind of hyped to be back in the PNW since I can go to Sakuracon, but I've been in Florida for a while so I have no idea what the BC cons are like.

It's overpriced for what it is, sorta understandable since that's what you get for booking at that location. If you could get a one-day pass, Saturday is the best, otherwise I wouldn't go alone especially for 3-days. It just gets boring.
>>
>>9406818
May or may not come, I'll be with a friend so it depends on her
>>
>>9406629
Compared to Sakuracon, no, AniRevo is pretty boring and the most of the panels are mediocre. If you're really itching for a con though, it's alright but as >>9407912 suggested, the one-day Saturday pass is enough. I'll be there this year because I get a free pass for helping a friend with her panel. I'm really hoping it can become better and change locations. The convention center is so awkward with all the cruise ship tourists.
>>
I'm looking to hit more conventions this summer. How is Con Bravo?

Neat I'm actually done finals in time for Calgary expo this year.

Just a head's up for anyone interested in joining us for our next meetup. We're planning on checking out the new Makoto Shinkai film Kimi no Na Wa (Your Name) on Saturday April 8th.

They typically sell out saturday well in advance and friday/sunday usually hit capacity with gate tickets, they already hit ceiling with attendance and that's even with them practically doubling the expo area over the last few years.

Sorry folks I didn't expect Kimi no Na Wa to sell out so fast. So it's not really feasible to make this a meetup for others to join us. We're rescheduling this meetup for Saturday April 29th, where we'll go for Japanese BBQ followed by drinks and games at Power Up Game Bar. We can meetup in front of Gyu Kaku at 5:30pm and head directly to Power Up Game Bar right after dinner.

Gyu Kaku is located on Church between Queen and King, and Power Up Game Bar is a short walk from there (5-10mins) near Church and Wellington.

if you hate the idea of raves and dance parties with loud electronic music you'll hate it like the other anon who obviously hates raves

if you have a hotel room or somewhere comfortable you might as well give it a go.

the outdoor rave tends to be more hardcore straight up rave music and a bit more extreme in terms of it's vibe.

the indoor rave has more japanese/otaku music and has some nice stage lights, drinking water available right there and some places to take a break and sit down.

the indoor rave often has like dance-circles and other fun hijinx while the outdoor rave you're more likely to encounter someone tripping on drugs. both are fun, so why not try out both stages?

Seeing as there is also going to be a political conference in the TCC North Building, I'm guessing AN will have a tougher weapons/props policy. Probably silent on emails as the weapons master might be trying to contact the proper channels(RCMP, OPP, etc) on what might be allowed and what isn't. That's just my honest guest. People gotta start using common sense
>>

yeah there's no way it's happening at this point. I just think they're scrambling and haven't been able to bring themselves to admit the truth to everyone after all the hype they were trying to keep alive
>>
>>9416165
Honestly I usually hang out outside with friends and observe the rave from outside that fenced in area. That way you can enjoy the music and laugh at dumb rave shenanigans without getting grinded on by sweaty weebs. Also last year they had ping pong tables all along one side too, and usually people will bring out their cool light-up costumes and stuff friday night, so I usually find it worthwhile to at least hang around for a while. Staying outside the bag check also means they wont give you hell about having snacks and booze on you
>>
Triple Fortune and Meta have been announced as guests for AN.
>>
>>9423450

it's actually true though.

AN is organized by ancient greying high power level otaku who aren't even concerned with the majority of the con outside of what the core events were when AN first started.

Volunteers and staff often skip out on shifts, don't know what they're doing, or end up power tripping at people in line ups.

Despite this all, it somehow all manages to come together without any disasters outside minor complaints. No deaths, and it continues to bring in revenue for Toronto.

While it may be tempting to claim that the AN staff can take credit for AN being an event people come back to every year, and there's definitely individuals within AN that manage to pull of some magic to make things work, the real reason people keep coming back to AN is because of the attendees.

AN legitimate has some of the best con attendees, and people looking to have fun without being dicks. It's a part of the polite Canadian culture, and it's a huge part of why AN will continue to keep being THE anime con for Canada.
>>
>>9424102
>high power level otaku
I hope you don't actually believe this.
>>
>>9424102

On a new note; Hear about the drama coming out about Novii Photography????
Seems he has pressured people (underage as well) to preform sexual favors for photos and such, pressuring girls into having sex with him, creating false rumors, ect.. Some other cosplayers and "friends" of his are coming out saying its all true. Shit is about to hit the fan.
>>
>>9425020
While it's good to raise awareness of possible danger, /cgl/ isn't the place for witch hunts like that and I think it's against the rules to target specific individuals

Wasn't Novii a Nurse or something like that in his regular job? That kind of makes the whole thing even creepier.
>>
>>9425363
Guess we'll never know because after making a "You're my side or their side and if you're their side unfriend me right now" post he deactivated his personal FB and page.

>>9425393
Could be a bit of both? Novii's alleged thirsty ass comments are pretty creeper but apart from apparently being a lying/harrassing scumbag, afaik hasn't done enough to have anything that could be illegal. With the Purrblind drama a few years back everyone was shitting on her instead of him so Karma probably came back and bit him in the ass hard... 3 girls have come forward so far and one guy sort of? 2 of the 3 girls were already drowning in previous Novii drama though so I doubt they're totally blameless.
Underage girls are getting their photos somewhere. If not him then some other creepy dude most likely, so should no adult be allowed to take pictures of anyone under 18? If they want to ho it out let them. Within reason, of course.

Just speculating here. Most of the exploding is people seeing these callout posts and jumping on the hate bandwagon. Anyone trying to say otherwise is shut down fast.

>>9425425
Can confirm he is a nurse.
>>
>>9425450

>If not him then some other creepy dude most likely, so should no adult be allowed to take pictures of anyone under 18? If they want to ho it out let them. Within reason, of course.

This is pretty warped logic.

If someone under the age of 18 wants pictures of their cosplay, they're asking to be raped? WTF DUDE!

Taking pictures of girls does not give you some magic right to make sexual demands. It's a huge violation of trust between a photographer and their client, and it's amazingly unethical.

The only world in which this logic even makes sense is child porn. So plz smarten the fuck up pedo.
>>
>>9425421
Not saying the guy in question is not a creepy shitbag but that's not a very good example considering Gomeshi was found innocent, the women were adults, there was actual sex involved (the confessions are so far here are of failed attempts at getting sex) and their stories were found to be demonstrably unreliable.

That's a pretty wide leap you're making. Did you miss "If they want to ... let them". i.e., "If girls want to be sexual, let them." That is a different point from condoning coercing or guilting people into sexual favors. Which is still unethical and predatory even if not illegal, notwithstanding the guilting resulting in consent from the subject.
>>
>>9425499
Stop sucking purrblinds dick and calm the fuck down I worded that pretty badly. If anyone underage wants sexy shoots and approaches a photographer for them, it's not the photographer's fault they're doing it, but it could easily be interpreted the other way around. I agree shoots don't entitle the photographer to anything that isn't consensually agreed on by both parties beforehand. But when drama like this arises, those photos can be used against the photographer with fake stories, or those girls going with the flow and deciding that shoot from way back when was actually so creepy omg!! Some of the accusations against him are pretty fucked up but no one wants to reveal what they themselves did at all. This drama isn't one sided like it is with ex. Tom Savage's creep tendencies.

I'm female, I've cosplayed some pretty revealing outfits underage. Most of the people that offered to take my picture were of course men and when you're young, dumb and poor free shoots sounds great. Being offered them by 40 year old dudes is less great. So, should kids just not be allowed to shoot at all otherwise everyone risks PEDO!11!!1!1 accusations, regardless of whether they'd done anything wrong? I want to see some perspective from the other side instead of the same old TO coscomm circlejerk

They will sell out as evidence that they posted today they have fewer than 5,000 passes. People always wait till it's too late or till these signs pop up to buy their tickets. The rate and perception of how fast they sell really doesn't determine this being a failure or a success.

Second. they are actually making more money per ticket than doing group rates. How much were you saving with group rates like $5-$10? Not much on your own, but remember when they did the whole the first 5,000 passes were $50 and not $60? They were loosing and extra $50,000 on that alone. That extra money can help bring in a few extra guest.

Not only are they making more money per ticket now, the group rates no doubt causes headaches for regustration whether it was last minute name switch or not having the correct information. I guarantee it's a lot less stress.

I think an underage cosplayers who ask/are asked for a shoot form a photographer should state they are a minor so that way the photographer will know to not ask for any photos that may be deemed inappropriate/illegal.
Anyone who would conduct themselves as a professional should be able to accept this and work with what they are able to. Only photogs with ulterior motives would be upset/offended. Also staying with a group would help things and defer from having any inappropriate actions being done, but that's just my opinion.
>>

You mean where multiple accusers were caught red-handed lying on the stand?
>>
Novii's a douche and I haven't trusted him in years mainly because he manipulated 2 different girls I was with (at different times obviously) to leave me.
One of them he ended up with, they got into a fight at Otakuthon, and she was sent into a suicidal episode.
We spent that night of the con doing our best to keep her safe and console her as she had locked herself in the bathroom. She was hospitalized a short time after the con.

He's not to be trusted and anyone who defends him is naive.

Something clicked for me when you said that. I looked him up and holy shit, I know this guy from school from years ago. Way before he was a photographer or anything. Long story short, he nearly took advantage of me, but apologized and then I cut him off. He wasn't really in any of my social circles tho, so there no rumours to spread.anything and I just moved on and forgot everything. The nurse thing rang a bell tho and it's almost scary to know that it's the same person. Holy fuck, lmao.

Organization is shit. I've had many friends fucked over trying to AA because of misinformation by staff and forgotten details so they lost their table. AA put in really stupid rules like someone selling posters can't sell anything that isn't paper based. Buttons and charms have to be Crafters corner or something. Lots of staff horror stories in general.
Trying to line up for autographs is a shitshow, lines get mixed up and people waiting for hours are refused entry because people from the other lines sneaked in first.
Compared to a con like Otakuthon, the guests are ass and the programming is lacking and hasn't improved in years. Where do they find these no name jrock/vkei/"nintendocore" bands anyways?
For a con with tens of thousands of attendees, one hotel shuttle bus an hour with no schedules posted anywhere and that may or may not show up is nowhere near enough. Some hotels are up to an hour walk away and if the bus is too full or doesn't come you're shit out of luck.
Location sucks too and the only food in the immediate area are the Tims and Harveys and whatever food trucks.

That's enough ranting for now lol I love the con but really could be better
>>
>>9425776
Pro photogs should ask for ID and if someone is underage require them to have a parental guardian present to prevent these types of accusations.

The problem is underage kids are gonna underage and do stupid shit without talking to their parents first.

Nothing you can really do to regulate it unfortunately and it becomes more about protecting yourself as a photographer than protecting underage children.
>>
>>9425930
Thursday pickup is a huge shit show and not convenient at all. You wait for 2 hours to pick up your badge. I did it for two years and then decided to try picking up on Friday night after I checked into my hotel room. There was no line at all. I just walked right up to the desk and got my badge.
>>
>>9425936
>Organization is shit. I've had many friends fucked over...
Here it sounds like you just disagree with their policies, but they're in place for the exact thing you want: organization. As a buyer, I appreciate all the posters being in one area, and crafts in another. It makes browsing less of a shit show because it's organized. As for your friends getting fucked over, I have just as much reason to believe it's on account of their lack of reading comprehension, since information is posted and freely available, as well as needed forms and all of that. Again, it is organized, and that organization is strictly followed to ensure smoother sailing.
>Lots of staff horror stories in general.
I don't tend to follow drama so much unless it's big so I'm gonna guess this is petty shit overall and just people being whiny because a rule was being enforced.
>Trying to line up for autographs...
Can't speak on this firsthand, but my friends who have gone for autographs have not had issues (including last year when there was actually a decent Japanese VA who my friend got an autograph for by lining up at about 4am)
>Compared to a con like Otakuthon...
This is a legitimate concern. All of their guests seem subpar overall for what is I believe the 2nd or so largest anime convention in North America. There definitely needs to be more networking done and budget used to get some bigger guests.
>For a con with tens of thousands...
AX has shuttles every 20-60 min, guessing 60 for the far locations. This isn't much dif than AN, who has them 30-60 min despite AX being more than double the size. You could always plan better on your end and book a closer hotel.
>Location sucks too and...
No, it's convenient and has lots of open space versus downtown. In terms of food, there are TONS of sit down restaurants that you are ignoring. You can always get room service too.

>>
>>9424102
Having worked at AN for quite some time, allow me to correct you.

1. AN is not organized by greying otaku. Yes, the chief organizers are older, but plenty of the depts are led by younger fans. And age really doesn't have anything to do with relevancy, it has to do with how the person updates themselves.

Has AN had problems? Yes. The con doubled its size for three years in a row, meaning lots of unvetted staff had to be brought on, space acquired, etc, without a lot of planning. Many of them are being fixed and have been for a few years.

You know why nothing's gone too horribly wrong? Because people like the staff in the TCC do their patrols and catch people who try to break things in the washrooms, or control lineups, or prevent people from running through crowds.

The Canadian politeness myth is just that: A myth. It applies some of the time, but is WAY too simplistic to account for why AN functions properly.

There are the literal hundreds of people who make sure lighting gets rigged, stages get set up, lineups get done, badges get checked, performers get on stage on time, talent is brought in, paperwork is done, badges are handed out properly, the website is maintained, etc etc etc.

To claim otherwise is ridiculously entitled and mind-numblingly stupid.

>I have just as much reason to believe it's on account of their lack of reading comprehension
Nah bro. Not even that anon, but some of the stuff isn't listed anywhere. Print your contract double-sided? You lose your table. Initial and sign all pages if you're not trans? You lose your table. The post screws up or a volunteer forgets to bring in your mailed check? You lose your table. Your table partner doesn't mail in their contract at the same time as your cheque? You lose your table. Mail your contract with everything correct to the address the con gives you? You may still lose your table because they gave you the wrong address, oops. For one of the biggest cons in North America, stuff like this shouldn't still be happening. Hell why are they still making people mail them checks, just allow people to send money by Paypal or something like every other big con.

And the split in media doesn't really make sense because an artist can offer both crafts and prints? Just because you draw doesn't mean you can't sew and vice-versa. They don't allow for a single artist to have both a Crafter's table and a Comic Market table either, so what's happening is that artists just aren't bringing their full inventory to AN. The paper rule is so convoluted because what even is the different between artwork printed on paper and artwork printed on vinyl? It's not like acrylic charms are more "crafty" than a chibi on a postcard.

As a regular AA buyer I do appreciate the craft and print split. I think the market left unrestricted was going more towards the fan-merch and craft doodads to the point of being a mini bootleg dealer room. I think it has encouraged more artists to produce more creative zines and doujinshi, by limiting the lower effort cash-ins of things like bead pixel art and keychains.

Secondly I don't think the Comic Market name was just an afterthought. The organizers probably want to create a more comiket-like experience. IIRC, only doujin books, software and music CDs are allowed to be sold there and industry booths sell the actual merch/trinkets.

Do any of you read? Like at all? I am in no way endorsing demanding sexual favors for shooting anyone, at all. I'm saying minors want to do sexy shoots on their own. Do you think disapproving is going to stop 15 year olds showing up to cons in bikinis and a wig? I used to be one of them and I don't like it either now but it's the reality. If no reputable photographer wants the controversy, the only ones willing to shoot are less morally upstanding and that's where the problems come from.

You can still somewhat organize the artist alley with craft/print split without forcing people to either do crafts OR prints. It won't be a clean split and there will be an area of overlap, but I doubt that makes it harder for people to navigate...

Artists usually attend more than one con, and since only AN has this separation rule, there will still be a spread towards fan-merch and crafts doodads. I don't necessarily see this as a bad thing since for me, a drawn chibi printed on paper is the same as on printed on vinyl or on canvas, though I see your point of it being a mini bootleg dealers.

For your other point: if they wanted to limit lower effort cash-ins, why are (paper) buttons and (paper) stickers allowed? The paper-only rule is pointless. And yes, I can see you are just a regular buyer when you place bead pixel art and keychains on the same level. They still allow keychains, by the way, as long as it's paper (paper) inserted inside a plastic frame and not acrylic ones.

Finally, as a person who has been to Comiket, lemme tell you, some booths do have acrylic charms. And some booths sell totes bags and some booths sell paper crafts. All stuff that would be Crafter's Corner for AN. And get this: no prints. If they were aiming to create a Comiket experience through Comic Market, then they're aiming for a basterized version of it. It's impossible and unnecessary to replicate Comiket because the scene is just too different with different culture and different resources and different buyers' mentality. It would be akin to restricting cosplay photography to a single area: "true" Japanese con experience, but would't work for a North American con.
>>
I believe the statements that are coming forward about the Novii drama. I never experienced anything extreme compared to what they are saying, because for me it was just overall pushiness and mild discomfort.
He would try to separate me from my friends at conventions or small events. Often called me to talk about how great he was, or text about how cute he thought I was. Overall came on strong saying "let me know when you break up with your boyfriend" and how he "wished I had a girlfriend like you". That was the extent of it for me. Nothing major. Knowing how forceful he is in terms of this, those other claims don't seem surprising.
>>

>>9426604
And more. Tried to gather these into one image, don't know if it will be readable or not. Seeing all of this stuff together seriously gives me the creeps. This is all grooming behaviour, feels very predatory.

>>9426608
Reading that last one made me cringe to a new degree. "Finally"? What the fuck is wrong with you?
>>
>>9426369
>I'm saying minors want to do sexy shoots on their own

You're a moron. Minors want to do all sorts of stupid shit on their own, that's why there are laws. That's why stupid kids aren't allowed to vote, thats why when weed is legalized it will obviously come with an age limit (and rightfully so).

Adults are supposed to be mature enough to uphold the rules. Especially in cases when it comes to sex. Smoking a little bit of weed as a kid probably won't do much damage unless you get addicted, but early promiscuity can be really dangerous to a developing person's psyche, not to mention healthwise. Notice how all of the kids that these so-called "photographers" prey on are all coping with mental issues like PTSD etc. Really makes you think.

>Do you think disapproving is going to stop 15 year olds showing up to cons in bikinis and a wig?

It's not about disapproving. Con staff should always be on the look out/IDing this type of shit. If you're cultivating an environment where there is drinking/drugs/sex (regardless of what constaff say, these things are prevalent) you have to make sure that you're not also cultivating an environment where 14 year olds are engaging in these things. Not only is it a liability, but it's also fucking disgusting. Although, I guess a rube like you wouldn't be able to see why it is so abhorrent.

If literal children want to do softcore porn shoots, they should do them own their own. Any adult involved needs to be punished, regardless of whether the underaged is "consenting"

>I used to be one of them and I don't like it either now but it's the reality.

I for one am glad I grew up years ago instead of today. It was never this bad until social media and cosplay hit the normiest mainstream. I used to know Natasha, and when we were friends she was absolutely psychotic. Not gonna get into it, long story short she was manipulative and paranoid and just really awful. That wasn't super recent though, maybe she's gotten more stable since then? I know she always used to post personal information about people she disliked in here, and I haven't heard anything about that lately or seen anything very suspicious.

Like the whole second half of her Novii testimony about him "manipulating people to think she's a pathological liar" is bs, though. Plenty of people came to that conclusion all on their own. She blamed a couple Toronto con girls (incl. Melty) for her alleged hospital visit initially, and kept saying that it was because they stopped being friends with her and were 'bullying' her by not wanting her around (because she was acting all Purrblind and posting about them on here).

Novii made a post calling out Natasha for the above, but I think that happened after/during the hospital thing? He used to white knight her here though, I definitely remember that post. Either way, even after she got out of the hospital she never blamed Novii, as far as I've seen that's an entirely new thing. It sucks that she feels the need to inflate her stories to get attention in this drama shitstorm, it distracts from validity of other people who are sharing. That's what you get for expecting anything from a person of her caliber, I suppose.
>>

Disclaimer: I am in no way defending Novii.

This drama really brings out the stupid and the confirmation bias in some people though.

Everage Photography on FB AKA Tom Danger Savage AKA savage bandito AKA stuckgirls dude who takes foot fetish pics and pictures of girls pretending to be stuck in glue or tied up or something. Some of his models look dangerously young. There used to be a big PSA image about it, thankfully I've never run into the guy myself.
>>
>>9427010
>the last note
Are there people defending him in the open? Contradicting some claims?
>>

Footfags are always the worst. It's the cuckiest of body part fetishes.
>>
>>9427090
>Tom Danger
>Foot guy
Yep, there we go that's the name I remember. I never met him, but I do recall hearing a lot of stories ranging from him tossing away clients' shoes during shoots to attempting to hypnotize girls into thinking their feet were stuck in place
>>
>>9427118
His 16 year old friend is defending him. Don't want to out her name since she's underage but she's been going on people's statuses/shares saying stuff like "He didn't mean it!" And also one of his close guy friends has been messaging the known victims.

But for the most part I think a lot of people already knew Novii was a douche so not many are refuting it.
>>
>>9427143
Poor girl must already be groomed. Hopefully she opens her eyes soon before he does more damage to her.

Yup. It's sad; like someone else here said, he always moves onto another girl once they turn 18. And then the cycle continues. I don't think this girl was around for that though, she's only been cosplaying for a year-ish.

I think Novii has some kind of fetish for mixed girls. A lot of the girls he's tried to groom are half Asian, half white.

Someone should write a letter to his employer... I really don't think a medical professional should be allowed to work if they have a pedophilia.

>>9426876
Because I'm an adult and I understand that not every child has a decent upbringing or good parents. I also don't want to be in an atmosphere that promotes sexual abuse or pedophilia, or turns a blind eye to it.

>>9427226
Saying it promotes pedophilia is a huge fucking stretch and just because some people have shit parents doesn't mean it should be an event's job job to accommodate them for that. If you think the atmosphere is that bad, you're welcome to not go. Shady stuff happens in any large event, and unless you wanna invade every single person's privacy there (and ultimately kill the event since people tend to not like to be treated like criminals when they aren't) there's nothing you can do to stop it entirely. Even then I doubt you would.
>>
>>9427238

On a lighter note. I just came back from watching Kimi no Na Wa (Your Name), and I have to say the movie was fantastic. A solid 9/10 for me. I think think the gold standard for any movie would be to ask yourself after watching it "was this movie good enough to pay the price of admission?" and the answer for me was a resounding YES! For those of you who haven't seen it yet, definitely go check it out.

Any thoughts on this? Just announced today despite being hinted at for the past while. Depending on pass prices I might go check it out to fill the APop shaped hole in my heart
>>
>>9427325
Yes, but it's almost all very overpriced. What are you looking for? DVDs? Manga? Doujinshi? In all cases, you're pretty much better off avoiding impulse spending and buying online. DVDs and manga are really cheap if you take advantage of Rightstuf's year-end sale, and doujinshi are MUCH cheaper if you buy them from Japanese sources.

>>9427844
They still havent said anything, but they've completely dropped off the face of the earth for a good 3 months now and I think that speaks for itself. If they had any good news they wouldve said something by now. If you ask me, that secret venue of theirs they were saying would be finished construction in time for this year's con probably still isnt close to finished and now they have nowhere to host it

I thought it was a really good movie that was on par with Makoto Shinkai's other works. If you liked Byousoku 5 Centimeter (5 Centimeters Per Second), than you'll enjoy this film. Whether it was over hyped or not I couldn't really say? But I think it's a worthwhile film to pay and go watch at a movie theater.

Jian Ghomeshi was never found innocent
He was found not guilty
There is a big difference
Did you even read what you linked?

>Judge says verdict doesn’t mean "these events never happened,"

Your lack of understanding actually shows that it's an amazing example.

Even if Novii isn't charged or loses his job or whatever, he's already been tried and found guilty in the court of public opinion. Whatever that means is up to you.

As a photographer with skills you have a lot of access to models' personal lives. You have to do things like swap phone numbers and try to have chemistry in a creative, sometimes sexy way. Obviously it's easy to become attracted to these women.

There's a fine line you have to cross as photographer to go from just "rejected" to creepy rapist level.

It's his own damn fault.

The best way to look for sintra is to go in person to sign shops and see what scraps they have. Doing it over the phone tends to be a huge waste of time for them. If you go in person youll talk to some entry level kid probably in his 20s. I got a lifetime supply of them by going in and asking what they have for scraps and they ended up with huge fucking sheets of that were unusable and he said come back on any tuesday when they take them out to the dumpster.

I ended up buying them a 12 pack of donuts from timmies for the favor.

- Enver can ask me for proof

Since all of the drama was brought up, I saw a lot of early signals. I could explain here but I'll choose not to.

Crossblind is a fucking selfish attention whore that wants to abuse the sympathy of others to gain likes and fuck.

even accused of me thirsting over her when i said hi to her once. Fuck you, your lazy eye disgusts me.

He won't be coming back to the community.
As a Nurse he can't do that

only a anesthesiologist can handle that shit. so he just watched it happen. That story is from the victim's brother wanting a witchhunt.

The majority of these accusations aren't even about what it's really about. He just wanted a gf and he try to do that by buying them things and asking for a relationship. if they rejected then he'll try again slowly, at some point they drop him and he starts rumors. and the cycle continues with another girl.

but his MO fits with exactly everything he did to the tee.

really fucking sad really.
>>
>>9429761

Wtf are you even trying to say? I can't decipher this message. Are you saying that Novii hitting on underage girls was him just "trying to get a girlfriend"? Because it's a little more creepy than that.

Things you need to know about the Kevin situation

1) He got with one girl who was underaged at the time. currently the girls want his side of the story.

2) The other girls who spoke up are NOT ALL underage girls

3) A majority of these girls he hung out with and was being nice to them and buying them things. He expected them to fall for him. But when rejected, he dropped them and shit talked about them.

4) The name dropping was useless because none of that was the problem. Everyone fixated on small shit he said out of context. The real problem is Kevin messing with younger girls, before it was Melty,Shiro or Quaintrelle. that was until they all rejected him and he dropped them and shit talked about them.
Only Shiro's post speaks truth without anger.

5) He manipulated everyone for his own selfish reasons and disregarded everyone else.

6) He's a sociopath

Enver, Sorry to hear about K, but she wanted out since AN. as for the other girl? Idk

Why would I defend him when he doesn't give a fuck about me?
Yeah, message me whenever.
>>
>>9430856
Regarding (2), both girls from the newer post were explicitly underage when Kevin was aggressively trying to get with them...? So yeah, they were underage girls, just because they turned 18 in the past year or so doesn't really matter since they were underage at the time.

>>9432129
there are other posts (some posted upthread) that are from other underage girls or girls who were underage at the time saying that he tried to groom them/made sexual remarks or advances that made them uncomfortable. so far most of the underage ones have chosen to be anonymous, which i respect.

the point of these people sharing their experiences, i think, is to warn people about his behaviours and to let other girls know what to look out for. along with supporting the claims of the anonymous minor that was assaulted by him, because clearly she doesn't feel comfortable speaking up. it doesn't really matter whether or not he 'got' with them, they aren't saying that he did. just that he tried, which is fucking terrifying.

I've heard nothing bad about Raindrop, he seems pretty chill but there was a bit of drama with him and Whitespecs at Katsucon.
Imho, I dislike Whitespecs for asskissing aza miyuko so hard. His page comes off as incredibly desperate and at some point he went on "vacation" to Korea to shoot with her? His photography is pretty average for what he charges but he abuses photoshop to make up for it. I've shot with him before and I'm barely recognizable in any of the photos, someone needs to tell him to lay off the airbrush.

Fyi the JCCC is having their annual bazaar on Saturday May 2nd. It's a good event if you're shopping for Japanese goods, plus admission is free.

Does anyone know if they sell wigs at anime north?

They do. Dunno if they're good wigs or not, but I've def seen multiple wig sellers in the dealer's room.

Arda has had a booth there in the past and IIRC you can place an order through their website but arrange to pick up the wig at the con (as long as you order through Arda Canada). Ask them?

I'm aware that Imgur.com will stop allowing adult images since 15th of May. I'm taking actions to backup as much data as possible.
