Who likes Normie Burando? Have you ever based an outfit on it? A Chanel bag? Christian Louboutin heels? Does normie fash and weeb dash collide? Have you been inspired?

I'm pretty sure that whoever designs Kate Spade's seasonal releases secretly wishes that he/she worked for a loli brand. The last two years have been carousel purses, flower pot purses, bee purses, tea pot purses, bunny purses, ladybug purses, ice cream purses...

I have a tote and a small cross-body from her plainer permanent offerings, and they've both held up to serious use and abuse as my commuter bags. The tote comes with me to cons when I'm cosplaying something that looks silly with a backpack.

I think that people who defend Lolita brand shoes and bags must never have own expensive shoes/purses before, because there is no comparison. I have two plainer Kate Spade purses and construction and materials are just so nice. They'll last forever and just look so sleek.

Mayo is my queen for lovely outfits with normie burando. Larme kei is pretty much "normie fash and weeb fash" colliding.
>>
>>9374941
Seconding this, I carry a lot of vintage and modern Coach in lolita. I also own a few pairs of their shoes and some jewelry (which I would not recommend unless you get it dirt cheap because it's definitely costume jewelry and not worth retail price imo).
Also, Betsey Johnson and Kate Spade for obvious reasons.
No attempts at a full Jfashion-inspired coordinate with "normie burando" though, but only because I've never really thought about it before.
>>
>>9375007
It's also because most seagulls are cheap as fuck when it comes to non-burando pieces.
>>
>>9375042
I adore Mayo, she's been a good example for me on how to combine different colours.
>>
I have a betsy johnson lemon wedge purse I used with meta's pink lemonade print.
As well as a simple black coach handbag for any of my black coord needs.
You can also find some useful things at charming charlie.

>Betsey Johnson

Yes. I personally prefer some of the more simplistic ones. Like the light pink heart pattern ones. But some of her stuff I could see really working with themed coords.
>>
>>9375068
My vintage Coach bags cost me $50-$70 each, which is cheaper than a lot of new brand purses (that being said they don't fit the style as well because they're not made for lolita so I do buy new purses and shoes from brands all the time but honestly the price is disappointing for fake leather). And the bags I got were real, full grain leather so they wear and tear more gracefully.
I really wish more brands made bags and shoes out of real leather, synthetic leather ages so poorly.
>inb4 some angry vegan comes alonelg
>>
>>9375210
No, I seriously wish brand made quality leather items. I'm also tired of brand making plastic jewelry and charging $60 for it. It triggers me so much. because the outfit is nice quality and elegant but it feels like I'm wearing a fucking carnival prize to accessorize.

I already paid $500 for the dress, I can pay a couple hundred more for a nice quality metal ring or purse to match. Though, with their markups I wouldn't be surprised if they pull the whole $1,000 for a plain silver band with "AP" inscribed on the inside deal. Then they'll point to the lack of sales as justification to not make more.

I have 3 louis vuitton bags and a matching wallet, but I only like the full-leather bags, not monogram. I don't like obvious logos. My favourite line he empreinte and epi. They are my "business" bags. I wear them when I want to look official af.

I also have two Balenciaga bags but they're kind of old (from 2012) but they fit better with my weeb stuff because they are casual and kind of go well with visual kei type stuff.

I have one pair of louboutin sandals that I never wear because they're super uncomfortable, and one pair of pumps that I sold because they were too dressy (satin or w/e). I want to buy a pair of plain leather pumps with a smaller heel.

Most of my favourite shoes that I own are designer though. Most of my outfits are based around a pair of studded alexander wang boots or suede SW boots.

I don't wear lolita with this stuff, but casual j fashion works nice with it.

I'm gearing up to by my UHG of bags though, a caviar Chanel jumbo! Hopefully this summer. From now on when it comes to designer handbags, I've sworn not to purchase any more LV/Balenciaga/etc and just stick to saving for Chanel bags. This one is around $6000 in my country + tax, and I also want a red mini version after and maybe a navy boy bag and a beige WoC. I almost bought it last week because I arranged a sale for one of my LV bags for $4k (its in mint condition) and I would hae had enough money to buy the chanel, but the lady backed out last minute. Oh well, I should have enough saved by August. I've been obsessed with Chanel for years and it hurts my hear that the prices keep going up while I procrastinate on buying something.

I for one respect the hustle.
>>
I feel like a lot of the Betsey Johnson stuff I've seen works well with lolita- there are always scalloped knee highs with flowers and cute shaped bags, and a lot of her jewelry would work for gothic or pastel goth styles as well.
>>
>>9374921
What are some of these bags made of, especially that shinier material?
>>
>>9375271
This. It's not hurting anyone and it makes you happy.

Also, I'm collecting secondhand normie brand things slowly for my work wardrobe, because I want to be able to eventually have something designer on every day that normies think sounds classy in case someone complains about my wardrobe not being professional enough. There are so many amazing 90s black leather items out there in good condition in the $20-$60 range that go so well with the modern 90s inspired styles that anyone could do this!

I came in here to post almost this exact same thing. Kate Spade's accessories are so loliable that it's almost like they were made for lolita.
>>
>>9375235
You do you anon. Get your jumbo! I'm hoping to get a pink boy soon so I can match it with my pastel J-fashion.

I use my Chanel bags with J-fashion, otome, and Lolita when I don't give a shit, which is most of the time. It doesn't matter as much when you're a lonelita and there's no one to judge. At events, I do stick to matchy OTT accessories and bags though.

>>

KS employee here. The ice cream truck is saffiano leather with smooth leather detailing (windows, board, wheels) and the shiny stuff is vinyl. The ice cream tote is printed pebbled leather with smooth straps. Everything else is smooth leather. The gold band on the ticket and the peanuts text were printed on their respective parts.

>>9375344
It should be hitting Kate Spade outlet this month. I'm not sure how much it'll be marked down, but I'm guessing around the $200-250 range.
>>
>>9375386
What's the exact material brands like AP and BtSSB use on bags like these? They always call it "vegan leather". I just want to avoid whatever it is in normal fashion bags. Kate Spade and similar brands do not use this, right? It's just the worst material because it does not age well and cannot take almost any bending or stress.
>>
>>9375591
I have AP, taobao and Betsy Johnson bags. AP material feels similar to taobao but my Betsy Johnson bags are made of way sturdier leather type material. I don't think its real leather though.
>>
>>9375386

>>

Ugh a pink boy would be a dream. Chanel is just so so so good.

Last time I went to the store, the day I was almost gonna buy my jumbo, I saw a pastel-green ish chevron bag. SO nice.
>>
>>9375591
"Vegan leather" is pleather or synthetic leather. Kate Spade uses real leather.
>>
>>9375630
This. And even though I'm a vegetarian, pleather isn't as durable. A leather bag will last you for like 4 years to enough to pass it on to a granddaughter. A fake leather bag will last between 2 months to 2 years.

Amen.

Chanel is amazing. It's beautiful and hard to find so much as a stitch of place. Look at MK or Coach, it's like they insist on doing lock stitching right in the middle of the bag. I love Versace designs, but you see so much bad leather on them (flanking, scars, etc). Chanel has none of that.

Bags from low-end luxury brands aren't out of place for a board devoted to collecting limited edition dresses and making costumes/travelling to conventions. Betsey Johnson runs about $100 for a full-sized bag, Kate Spade around $300-$400, Coach varies but a lot around $400-$500.

The Chanel anons are on another level, though, bless them and their hustle.

Can't decide whether to go for pic related, I like it and it's very loliable but the design also reminds me of those cheap Taobao bags that are everywhere (even though it's obvs better-quality leather) and I think the shade of pink might be off:

I love the designs of Alexander McQueen's acessories, such as scarves, belts, bags, jewellery, etc in particular would work amazingly well with ouji/Jgoth/aristocrat/visual kei styles. They're really nicely made, the leather is good quality from what I've seen in the shops for the leatherwear, and the silk scarves are stunning. I've got one of the skull scarves but aim to own more pieces some day. I think they have an edge ot them that works well these styles.

I've been trying to get a better paying job because I'm obsessed with designer clothing and I'm tired of never having enough money to buy anything. Gucci released two purses I would kill for last year (pic related, shitty screenshot) and they're still on their website so I'm trying to save for one of them, I just suck at saving so much.

Also, jewelry of course. I can't begin to express how much I hate some of the plastic pieces of crap that some brands release (looking at you ap). I have a pair of Kate Spade earrings that look super cute with Lolita. For bracelets I have a couple of Juicy couture ones and a Ted Baker one with a super cute bow.
>>
>>9374900
i really want some VW bags and charms, a chanel quilted in pink... i dunno im like a fucking crow when it comes to shiny jewellery, ive run out of places to store it
>>
>>9376339
If the clasp wasn't so blocky and ugly I'd buy it. Such a geometric, harsh clasp clashes with the sweet style but that's usually the sorts of things normie brands do
>>
>>9377132
That VW heart bag and VW purses in general were very popular in old school lolita and you still see a lot of VW items in street snaps today. VW for some reason is really popular in Japan, to the point where she has more stores in Japan than any other country (50 according to her website, and she actually has more stores in Tokyo alone than the entire US)
>>
>>9377165
thats pretty much exactly why i like it. i remember seein a heart shape bag with the big VW logo in an oldschool look and it was amazing
>>
>>9377080
That's beautiful. I find most of Gucci's stuff to be too masculine. Their sunglasses are pretty, though.
I think I need to give them another look.
>>

>>
>>9393349

You haven't owned a high-end designer bag, I take it. They're a whole different step up in quality from fast fashion brands. Some of the designer bags aren't just quality, Balenciaga in particular is designed to turn into nice slouchy bags as they slowly age into the years. It's a whole different ballgame from buying a disposable cutesy bag to match one or two dresses and then throwing it out.

Not including Kate Spade or Ted Baker in this category, of course -- the newer designers that sell based on the novelty of their designs generally don't hold a candle to the more established brands.

Agreed. The low quality material of AP bags makes them not worth the money at all. I usually carry a betsey johnson or coach bag just because they last longer and still have that cute/whimsical look and the cost isn't all that far off from burando.

But I will forever love plastic AP jewelry. It's what I've always wanted since I was 5 and I'll continue to pay ridiculous amounts of money it.

i've been busy for a few days but alrighty then, here we go

This bag is from Review, really nice Aus semi-designer brand. Nice, high class stuff, lots of dresses you'd wear to formal events etc.
Most of their stuff isn't lolita suitable, but they have some really nice, simple, high quality cardigans in quite a few colours. A bit pricey for basic colour cardis, but that's up to the individual I guess. This bag is my favourite thing they have atm- They also sell really cute bow clips etc. for bags, if you want to make something that extra bit frilly. They have cute blouses too, but they're all sleeveless atm as per the trend.season here, they might release long sleeved ones come winter.

Super pretty shoes from Novo. I've owned some of their shoes before- One pair was my favourite before it fell prey to a puppy related incident lol. Comfy and cute stuff, pretty decent prices too.
Most of their stuff is pretty normie atm, but they occasionally sell cutesy shoes, especially cute winter boots, so I tend to check their stock from time to time.
This pair comes in a dark, rich blue as well!

GUESS bags are pretty good, nice quality and a big range. They usually release a set of different bags in matching colourways. which is handy for coording. Their stock ranges from cute bags like this to more modern, normie fashion bags. They have a few bags on their site I could see working with classic/goth coords as well. Also do matching wallets/purses etc.
They have their own site and they're stocked by a big department store, some of their bags are only on one or the other site!

Dangerfield is kind of like a hipster/alternative fashion store that carries a bunch of brands- Princess Highway is one of them, though they have their own store in my city as well. They carry sort of retro/preppy stuff which is really cute, though not lolita. However, their cardis/tights etc. are really nice and I could see them working in classic coords. Cardi pictured here comes in green and deep red/burgundy- They have a similiar one with a cat embroidered on it. Their colours are usually very autumn-toned, so don't expect anything very sweet-suitable from here. They also make really nice coats- Hopefully they release some cute ones for winter this year.

From Review again- They have nice knitwear apart from their cardis that I can see working with a skirt/under some JSKs, or even in a Larme style outfit. They have a really nice black turtleneck with frills on it that screams j-fash to me at the moment. I really love this jumper- The white might be a little hard to colour match, but like I said, I think it'd fit right in for Larme.

I've seen shoes like this before, and I think they're really nice for gothic or classic. Haven't purchased from this store before, but I know they mostly deal in like...'vampire' style really alternative fashion, so the rest of the site is pretty tacky shit. (they did have a very cute black lace ruffle choker with roses on it though). As far as I know, they also do custom corsets that are really good, but I can't find the link on their site- Maybe contact them directly?
(Shoes are from an American brand- I checked their site, and it's all wholesale, so I couldn't link direct from supplier)

Most people know Modcloth, but just linking incase anyone doesn't. They have a fuckton of shoes and other stuff- Kind of a mixed bag of retro styled stuff, but if you look you can find some really good stuff. Found a few pairs of shoes that would work for classic, and really decent prices.

Not totally 'normie' per say, but Yesstyle carries tons of various k/j-fash stuff. Freesia is one of their stores, and they have a TON of shoes- Literally, they have so many. Lots of cute summery shoes, but also lots of varying types of mary janes, with wedge heels, block heels, no heels, etc. They look really cute, and their reviews are all positive, some from other lolitas. They also have a huge range of sizes! (big feet anons rejoice)
Please note that stores like Freesia are a dime-a-dozen on Yesstyle, and they often use the same stock photos, so it can be confusing. Compare by looking at prices, store ratings, and overall reviews. Some places will sell a pair for $50, and others will randomly try to sell them for $150- use common sense and go for the well rated stores with reasonable prices. Freesia also has a 7-14 day wait as they make to order.
(If any of these are knock-offs/resells, please don't crucify me. My knowledge of brand shoes is pretty basic as none of them fit me anyway)

Yeah, a lot of their knitwear and such is surprisingly suitable. I do like a lot of their dresses in just a normal fashion sense as well. I have a friend who works there, so hopefully she can use her discount if I ever decide to pick up that bag!

not exactly high end but nice low-mid teir. I got this sweater from Brooks Bros. and am wondering if it could work for sailor lolita or would that be too edgey? I bought it for my normie wardrobe but if it could work it would be a nice bonus.

> not knowing pleaser
They're the Company that also does Demonia shoes. I don't recommend buying those shoes from that shop unless you actually live in Australia. There are tons of cheaper options to buy Pleaser shoes all over Europe and America.

That whole shop is actually a generic australian goth brand reseller so if any non-australian anons like things from there, I recommend just googling the brand/item name and looking for a local reseller.

I just bought one. It's sold out at a bunch of stores but found one at a target about 30 minutes away.

It's a cute little purse. It doesn't have any extra pockets or anything. But for $13? It's fine.

Yeah. It sucks that you can't order it online or even order for store pickup. I checked the website for the maker and it's just for listing what brands and companies they have licenses for. I'm lucky I even found the one I did find.
